Stocked with its fair share of change ups, SPLIT gets tuned to run quick in a remix by Australian producer Lithe. The remix features a rendition of the track reminiscent of a calmer time, although still with its full share of sub attacks

Eva comes from Slovakia where she spent her teenage years playing bass guitar and singing in hardcore and punk bands. During her visit to London she suddenly found herself standing in the middle of Fabric’s dancefloor and needles to say, she loved what she heard there. After relocating to Brno she met Psj and Møreti and a deep friendship has started which generated a small record store or the locally unparalleled club phenomenon – the MUAH events. Eva is an eager sonic explorer, who binds all her influences into mystical adventures. Aside from regular spots in dozens of clubs around central Europe, Eva holds a residency at Radio Punctum with her Anemone show. It’s sometimes slower, at times just more daring, but doesn’t differ that much from her club slots. Taking your shoes off together with any other constraints holding you back is what Eva highly appreciates.

The first collaborative episode of the Contra stare show introduces Máúcta, DJ and producer based around Brno’s collectives Bastl and Proud. Her nearly hour-long mix oscillates between delicate experimental electronic soundscapes, trance synths/percussions and standard electro-acid stompers. The artwork for this episode was created by Schwarzwald's one and only goblin Mikuláš Zimula aka attacchicardiaci. Reverb, distorted snare, psychedelia and Indigenous vocals - we got you covered. Tbilisi-born, Prague-based lizwiz works with both sound and visual interpretations. Her practice is mainly focused on music making, DJing, textile and mixed media experiments as well as co-creating with the Glory Affairs collective.

When it comes to blending music lizwiz usually works around some imaginary, intuitive narrative that sometimes creates a  gentle, other times rather raw listening sets.

“I don't usually post club mixes, especially recordings of my mixes that happened in a club space. It feels too tied to the time and place where it was initially played and  the charm of it does not really exist outside of that moment.”

In an attempt to break the separation of where a mix is recorded and where it’s streamed lizwiz made a 1hr mix for infame radio with some of her favourite bouncy tracks.

MIKLEI is a Ukrainian DJ and founder of Blasfemia. She also takes part within the Monolog and No Time projects. She’s currently based in Bratislava although Blasfemia takes part in eastern Slovakia. Throughout her projects, she focuses on popularising electronic music and creating a safer space within the region.

She enjoys mixing hypnotic repetitive techno with vocal hardgrooves, occasionally experimenting with an integration of old-school tracks into her selection. 
Her sound comes with a guarantee of high bpm’s and equally high levels of  undeniably dance-worthy energy.

Eva Falt, hailing from the city of Prague, is a life-long techno aficionado who has recently taken her passion to the next level as a DJ and event organizer within the Weltraum collective. Driven by an insatiable love for the genre and pursuit of perfection, Eva sets the bar high. Each performance she delivers is crafted with attention to detail, striving to create something special and new. In 2023, Eva has performed at the decks of her beloved local venues in Prague, such as Ankali, Bike Jesus, Grid, Swim, and The Cross Club. In 2024, she premiered at Berlin's Zur Klappe. Together with Weltraum, she has co-produced a series of raves that have attracted a stellar line-ups of both local talents and international headliners. The sheer joy of curating complex experiences for the lovely crowds that gather at Weltraum events has become Eva's driving force, fueling her way forward.

In this mix she presents a high-paced techno mix that infuses old-school inspired tracks with her favorite trippy flavor, capturing the energy from the closing sets that have recently become her favorites.

Influenced by his father's eclectic playlist the desert, and the post-2011 revolution underground music scene in Egypt, he draws inspiration from the vibrant music culture in Prague. takaDumm co-founded   NŪR a Permanent platform & temporary spaces curated by Prague based collective, serving as the co-curator of Prague's beloved former community space, Grid Center that recently has turned into a radio station, also co-founded Darna a project for swana region community , made by groups of middle easterns.

Over the years, takaDumm has played various roles within the scene, from creating atmospheres and organizing parties to handling bookings, delving into production, and playing diverse DJ sets. Shaped by his activism, he tirelessly strives to amplify minority voices, confront oppressions, and explore the realms of bassy and groovy electronic music sounds.

TakaDumm perceives the dance floor as an emotional canvas, positioning himself as a storyteller who connects hearts through beats. Beyond considering the DJ booth a mere musical space, he views it as a vessel for shared experiences and connections. For him, what truly matters are the people; the DJ is merely a tool to showcase music and evoke emotions, enabling individuals to express feelings they might not have been aware of before.

just claudia has an ever-evolving ‘all things bass’ approach to DJing, bringing up the tempo and jumping back and forth DnB, rap, halftime and spiced-up techno. She was part of shift of the Czech electronic music scene back in 2019. Resident and assistant to programming Prague’s Ankali club, one of her most outstanding contributions is her supervision of Deviant, a club night and podcast series focusing on nonconformist sounds, and the development and exploration of DJing as an art form. The initiative brought to the city artists of the likes of Identified Patient, MSJY, Zohar or Simo Cell. Most recently, after her moving to Barcelona, she co-founded the community radio Canino FM. Complementary to the club, she currently holds a beatless residency in LYL radio.

MAXImum is a greek dj and producer based in Berlin. Back in Greece, they are a resident of Alemao, and one of the curators of sWEaT, aiming to empower the local electronic music scene through their work in both collectives. 

With a collection ranging from 60 – 220 bpm they adapt their sound based on their surroundings and attempt, while combing styles, to construct dark atmospheres that capture the attention of their listeners. In their productions, they focus on establishing their own take on electroacoustic music, and use their work as an opportunity to sonically experiment and create meaningful connections with their audiences. 
This set was taken out of a 3 hour session in a basement in Thessaloniki and the message that MAXImum wanted to deliver is to be unapologetically your unique selves, allow yourselves to mess it up, FUCK IT UP, learn from it and grow out of it.

There was originally no episode planned in May - you know, bookings, exam season, a lot of precarious work... Then, out of nowhere, Brno well known figure Adamovia sent me the mix, which I did not expect from him. In my head, I saw this Schwarzwald's cute guy oscillating between classic club 4/4 genres and some darker ghetto and electro things. And though there are still some reminiscences of that sort, the thought was mainly not up to date: Adam has been reorienting himself recently towards that current bass, percussive, psy and broken riddims based sound that originally got me behind the CDJs myself. Thus, I could not leave this just in the dropbox link in our DMs. In his Contra stare takeover, Adamovia departs from this practice, effectively rotating in circles through particles of Latino club, UK culture sound structures and vocals, and trance-infused strict synths and kicks. All of these traditions flow in the 2h long mix, which will not make you bored in any part of it. And so, before we introduce my very special guests in the June edition of Contra stare, dive with us into the show's eight part representing again the best of the Brno scene right now.
