Mister Shifter here. I wanted to basically showcase what I’m all about when it comes to drum & bass and higher tempos with this mix. That usually means a big dose of dubwise heavy-hitters, so I kicked things off in that fashion. The first 30 minutes is crammed with current and forthcoming cuts from some of my favorite labels like Rua Sound, 45Seven, Astrophonica, and Cosmic Bridge.

Towards the mid-point we enter some mashed up jungle territory from the likes of Digital, Sully, Philip D Kick, and Ricky Force. A welcome change of pace, but not jarring.

I gradually veer into some moodier tracks that I’m loving at the moment to wind things down. Lewis James and Oliver Yorke are two of my favorite producers of late, and I love how their tunes start to cap things off.

The grand finale is a future anthem from Vromm featuring Agama on vocals forthcoming on Cosmic Bridge. I can’t think of a better closing track in a long, long time. Truly amazing stuff.

Das Jahr neigt sich dem Ende entgegen. Endlich? Eigentlich spielt das keine große Rolle, denn Zeit ist nur Schall und Rauch, ein fiktionales Hirngespinst was uns ermöglicht pünktlich oder unpünktlich zu sein. Um so besser ist es endlich wieder ordentlich Musik auf die Ohren zu bekommen. Wir können uns kein besseren Gast als Jenny Sharp vorstellen, welche uns in das nächste Jahr reinbassen soll. Mit dem Mix gelangt es ihr wie immer spielend zwischen Garage, Juke, Footwork, HipHop und düsteren Halftime Passagen zu wechseln. Was bleibt uns da noch zu sagen außer: hört rein und wenn ihr zu Silvester feiern wollt (bitte Zuhause im gewohnten Umfeld) dreht den Mix ordentlich auf und fangt an zu bouncen, twerken oder einfach mit zu nicken.
