For the 9th premiere we move to French producer @Poperttelli via @Maturre Records - This vinyl release is a 6 track EP, juggling between Electro, Techno and Ambient tracks. Naturally I selected one of the two Electro tracks on the EP for the premiere. Poperttelli told me that he had to start preparing the EP quite a long time ago which explains the title of the release ’Theseus’Paradox’. This philosophical thought experiment of the ‘Ship of Theseus’ can be compared to the creative process in Art, Music, Cinema and so on. It creates questions about the identity of objects and their final forms, but in reality, there is no absolute answer. The track I have chosen to premiere is called ‘Assume’. Clocking in at 113 BPM, this haunting track creeps in a way that might just make you look over your shoulder to make sure you aren’t being followed. Beautiful pad-stabs and a driving arpeggio carry the track through it’s 4:29 run. The vinyl was released June 1st and is currently shipping within 7 days of order being recieved.

You probably never heard of him, but he is doing this thing since half an eternity. Rather than playing a lot of shows he focuses on studying the craft of electronic sound manipulation and what else can be said that: he is on top of his game! He shows us that it is still possible to create sonic structures that are beyond the usual by just using classic devices such as the TR 808 rhythm composer and a TB 303 monophonic synthesizer. Their journey had taken them to the bottom of a huge range of towering mountains, each covered in a thick glistening blanket of snow. They began the steady incline up the nearest and smallest mountain, eager to find out what lay at the top. The air around was fresh and crisp, making it the perfect conditions to ascend the slopes. « Grey People » is Chicago based producer Alex Michalski’s main project. Over the years, the project’s focus has shifted between various styles of house and techno but always had a focus on acid and strange monophonic synth lines. 

His mix is a subtle mix of old school, techno, breakbeat, New Beat and even sometimes EBM sounds.
