After a couple of weeks our beloved mix series is back on your feed! Today we welcome non other than Mental Duality a duo formed by Noah Benlloch and Franklin Santos based in Madrid 🇪🇸. They decided to embark on a project that would combine their way of understanding music to take it to its maximum expression and in just over a year they have been able to consolidate themselves and show great shape.

They own the Hölleclub collective and label and are also residents of the @loopstage collective, renowned emerging events of the Madrid nightlife. Their sessions are characterized by seeking constant dynamism, not confining themselves to a single genre, but where percussive rhythms are the protagonists.

Their influences in music are very marked by the techno of the 2000s, wanting them to contribute their creativity to be able to give it a twist, as is reflected both in their sets and in their productions.

Black Mirror Park is DJ and producer located in Berlin, Germany. He's been a founding member of Sonntagsinstitut Collective, a crew that works on the intersection of club culture, electronic music and politics and has been hosting a radio show, curating a label and throwing parties for a few years already. Black Mirror Park has played DJ-sets at clubs and events like ://about.blank, Institut für Zukunft, Anomalie and many more. He's released tracks and EPs on KONFLKT, Entourage Concept, trau-ma and Front Left Records amongst others. His next release will be an EP called „The Great Filter“, out on Dessert Berlin's (a party series at ://about blank and a label) new sublabel „Is Serving“. It will be out on 21.04 with two original tracks and remixes by Jon Hester and Red Rooms, so make sure to check it out!

37 of the hottest names of the current techno scene have donated a brand new unsigned track, where all the sales and streaming funds will be directed to NGOs to provide support and assistance to earthquake victims both in Turkey and Syria.

▻ You are originally from Munich, and now you live in Berlin, what brought you there?

I moved to Berlin for my masters but I loved the city since I was a child. Together with my passion for techno it just made sense to move there.

▻ Where did you have your last gig and how was it?

My last gig was Anomalie Art Club in Berlin for a privat event. It was fun but I‘m looking forward to play a clubnight someday. 

▻ You produce your own music in the meantime, how do you always start there and with what equipment do you have for it at the start?

I start with the kick and bassline, add a synth and fill the tracks with drums. I use an analog four a tr8s and ableton live to make my music. 

▻ What's on your musical agenda for 2023?

Finishing my first EP.

▻ I heard you go out a lot, what are your favorite clubs?

Berghain, RSO and ELSE.

Luigi Madonna’s record label Contempo drops an EP by Marc Faenger that’s raw and driving techno with trippy atmosphere.
Contempo is an uncompromising record label that allows Luigi Madonna to show off the more underground side of his sound, and the new release is an imprint debut from Marc Faenger who’s a German artist that early in his career was signed to Richie Hawtin’s record label M_NUS.
Marc Faenger’s early minimal releases propelled him onto the international stage, and opened the door for him to DJ at places like Fabric, Sisyphos, Fuse and more. In the following years Marc Faenger’s tracks got tougher and more aggressive, as he moved towards up-tempo techno releases on labels such as Illegal Alien Records and his own Shed Skin.
“Opal” opens the release with retelling percussion rhythms and a booming kick drum that form a foundation for rolling industrial textures that ripple with modulation. “Triple Threat” is a percussive track with flowing percussion and tense atmosphere and rumbling sub-bass. “Zinn” is a hypnotic track with buzzing synths and juddering percussion that’s heavy enough to make the walls shake. “Probe” closes out the release with brutal percussion and gritty sound design that’s shrouded in trippy atmospherics.
