The hypnotic momentum of the night passes to the hands of DJ Three as light begins to fill sky and the new day creeps ever closer.  For forty breathless minutes we wait… until at last the sun breaks over the horizon, and a collage of verbal musings, psychedelia and ornate music fills the air.  Toying with echoes and teasing with nuance, shutters fluttering to capture the fleeting moment…a moment not soon forgotten for those who were lucky enough to be there, at sunrise on Sunday, Black Rock City, Burning Man, 2014.   And then, just as easily as we are led into that place, a whole movement of sound and energy returns the dance floor.

Doc Martin is a bona fide legend of the house music scene, and his involvement with the music can be traced back to the mid-80s.  Right there on the cusp of the house sound, Doc has become synonymous with the West Coast of America’s dance scene.   From spinning records in San Francisco, various residencies in New York, tours with the likes of Grace Jones, The Prodigy, Moby and Dee-Lite, and welcomed with open arms across Europe at clubs like Back To Basics, Cream and Ministry Of Sound, Doc Martin has tirelessly supported the music over the year with a great passion.

As a producer, Doc has served up A list productions on labels like Moonshine Music, Siesta, Wax Records and Sublevel, as well as DJ mix compilations for Fabric, DM and Nitegrooves, quite simply Doc Martin is the DJs DJ, and it’s a huge pleasure to have him on this weeks Source to Cycle.

Plying her trade as a barrister by day, @throwingshade doesn't conform to the normal trajectory of a young DJ and producer. Taking her name from the seminal documentary Paris Is Burning and a student of ethnomusicology, Nabihah lqbal is - to put it bluntly - a walking musical encyclopedia.

Her own productions touch on the darker regions of RnB and lo-fi house, making the Throwing Shade package altogether impossible to pigeonhole and the perfect candidate for a truly worldwide mix.

We could hardly have grasped any more open and inviting fun!  Defiant to the elements, a soundtrack of psychedelic dub-house disco found its place in the air.  Mixed long & loose on 3 decks with no FX and some cosmic electronica to tie the knot.  Another year on the Robot Heart bus at Burning Man yielding another resonant memory.  Keep the faith."

Next up on Bom Shanka Music series is SYNTHETIK CHAOS. His brand new mix includes a lot of VS and some tracks from the next Syntetik Chaos album.

Synthetik Chaos is Yan, a French psytrance music producer. His influences come from different kinds of music (mainly electronical) such as: Aphex Twin, Slide, Richard Devine, Nick Taylor, Ministry, Droid Sect, Sonic Youth etc. all these influences & many experimentations in the lab results in a combination of heavy groovy twisted basslines & electroid rhythms, psychotic soundz & bizarre noises, with always in mind to keep the dance floor as a recreation ground!
He has already released some tracks on several labels including Pixan, Peak, Sangoma,SquareLab music and has collaborated with some killa artists such as Electrypnose, Dirty Saffi, Illegal Machines and Asimilon…. he performed in many countries in Europe & around the globe (USA, Russia, Costa Rica, Brazil, Canada, Cyprus, Dubai, UK, Germany, Italy, Croatia etc.) Keep watching for him via the usual channels for more appearances around the world and an album is in preparation for 2018 on Bom Shanka Music!

We set off this adventure together with the aim to introduce artists from the Hungarian electronic music scene, who are not known by the RadiOzora public, and their output is new to most music-heads hanging on Chill Channel. Its not easy to bring new things to the (turn)table, but the investigation was worth it, so we are proud to introduce Monoton Heart – a Sopron-based Hungarian producer, whose podcast is complied of his very own tracks. We were blown away by his immerse soundscape and emotion-filled style that is represented by his Natural_Selection podcast too. In the second hour, delay takes over the wheel and leads us to a darker realm. Enjoy!

N_S Podcast #11: Monoton Heart was born in 1978 in Hungary. Music surrounded him from the early age, which determined his addiction to sound. He met the real techno sound already in the mid-90s. His musical style can be described as unique and emotional and is based on the roots of techno and electronica. Knabe likes to merge organic and electronic elements during his musical journeys. Furthermore he is the founder & owner of the recently launched City Forest Records, a small independent label & mastering division based in Sopron. Preferred music styles Techno – Deep Dub – Electronica – Ambient – Experimental.

N_S Podcast #12: d.y. is the mind behind the 12th podcast, who has been here selecting naturally all along under different aliases on the show. Forestdelic Records series continues with an exclusive mix by label-DJ, GUWANEJ.

Guwanej ( Dj and Producer ) is Sven Pape, born in Munich. In the early 90¥s he had his first contacts with music and mostly loved oldies and 80s sounds, later he listened to Dance, Happy Hardcore and various electronic music styles influenced by ethnic world music. In ’97 he visited the legendary Natraj Temple in Munich and fell in love with Goa Trance in all of it’s art forms, and soon after he started also playing it as a Dj around Munich and Frankfurt. 2013 he becomes part of the ìAlice in Wummerlandî parties, the biggest party series in the south of Germany as a resident Dj, and also starts playing on international gigs like in Turkey, Netherlands, Sweden, Austria, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republik and Switzerland as well as local gigs.
Today his unique sets are filled up with fullpower twilight and forest music. They often change from progressive tunes to melodic and crackling tracks. He is now a member of Forestdelic Records and Psycana Records. In 2017 he released his first own Tracks on different EP¥s.

I did this mix for Groove Radio International in December 2012 as a tribute to the beginning of the early 90s techno scene, known today as EDM (Electronic Dance Music). In 1991, I co-hosted "The MARS FM Top 30 Countdown" with Swedish Eagle. I also had my hands in mixing the tracks together with DJ Robin! Our program also received the number one rated slot in the Los Angeles area from the hours of 12pm to 3pm every Saturday afternoon. MARS FM (Santa Monica, California based radio station) was short lived, but was historic in many ways and was the first FM radio station in Southern California and across the US broadcasting the music heard on this mix 24-7. Swedish Egil continues this mission with his now famous Groove Radio and Groove Radio International.
