Progressive Trance - Female Vocals Sessions #1 - Patrick Demetriou

In my childhood, there were many bands that tried to leave their legacy in the music industry. Some of them achieved it, some didn't. But what I am sure, is that there was a special band that did not leave us indifferent to many of us, and today we still admiring with the greatest respect, for what they awakened in us.

Michael Cretu was one of those pioneers who with a great team formed by Sandra Ann Lauer, David Fairstein, Frank Peterson, and sometimes guitarist Jens Gad, gave life to ENIGMA. A magical and inspiring music project, that made us dream with open eyes, due to the sheer beauty of the tracks.

Anyone who knows me well knows what they meant to me. And how my music learning, depended largely on them.

I've never done something similar, but the occasion permitted me, and thanks to the outstanding Gregorian Chants' library from Eduardo Tarilonte "CANTUS", I was able to realize a dream. A tribute to ENIGMA, made with much love and respect, and especially to Michael Cretu because unbeknownst to him, has been like a mentor for me.

Thanks to Eduardo Tarilonte and Éanán Patterson and Joan Fernández, for lending their talents and make this possible.

We remember the day our manager came into our studio aka drew's living room apartment to show us this new band he was going to sign to Disruptor Records. The first record he played us was this tune Overload and we were hooked! We had never heard of them before but we proceeded to listen to 10 more songs of theirs and we were blown away. Their sound was so refreshing from the instruments to their vocals. There was a summertime quality to all their music that couldn't be denied. Flash forward a couple months and we had the chance to meet them in LA. We proceeded to do what any dudes meeting for the first time would do, we through a mansion party at a buddies got totally blackout and missed the call time for what was our Let You Go music video. Flash even more forward and Overload is taking over top40 and they are about to drop their next single Dreams! The boys were cool enough to let us take a shot a remixing overload and putting our touch on it. The song itself is already just so amazing and vibey... its like drinking coconut water on a beach while getting a foot rub and someone somewhere else transferring large sums of money into your bank acct. SO we figured why change that and just change the foot rub to a back massage and money to a kiss from a chick you really are into but didn't know she was also into you.... So without further adieu... our remix of Overload!

The release starts off with the original mix of ‘As Long As I Have Breath’, a unique and groovy Progressive oriented track that captures the best of Spectre’s voice during the breakdown, and delivers an explosive climax with emotional melodies!

The Attila Syah remix takes a more impactful direction, with its harder kick and basslines, he manages to keep the original soul of the track but adds an extra twist to the melody by changing its original pattern.

The Maratone remix concludes this release with faster tempo and deeper basslines. By keeping the original vocals during the breakdown, Maratone delivers an epic following climax that only faster trance oriented songs can provide!
