With his Vangelis homage ‘Love Theme From Blade Runner’ firmly established as a hot favourite in end-of-year polls, Solarstone’s next single excursion sees the Pure Trance guardian dip back into the sonic riches of his latest album. Moving from ‘Love’ to ‘Lovers’, he’s teamed up with cult New York-based synth-pop outfit Lemon. 

Across its Original versions, ‘Lovers’ is a knowing glance back by Solarstone at his formative musical years. Its production and vocals draw affectionate inspiration from a wide artistic palette, with Erasure, Depeche Mode, Roxy Music and Joy Division being just some of its many touchstone influences. Featuring introspective and deeply personal lyrics & vocals from Lemon’s frontman Roger D. Smith, ‘Lovers’ lays and layers them against crisp percussion, atmospheric analogue synths and brilliantly stagey drum rolls. 

Masterfully bridging the decades Solarstone’s new Pure Mix version kicks off ‘Lovers’ remix collection. Rushing up to meet 2014 club floors, throughout their intros they utilize high-impact kick-drums, echoing harmonics and the Pure Mixes’ leitmotif running basslines. Building potent levels of tension, the vocal affects a controlled burn on the drop before Solarstone hooks the swirling atmosphere and up-surging synths back in.

TFR0002 : Dark Fusion feat. Amy Kirkpatrick - I Just Close My Eyes (Matt Chowski Remix)

Here is a preview of my debut release for John O'Callaghan's very prestigious trance label 'Subculture', as debuted by Aly & Fila at #ASOT700 in Melbourne and Sydney this weekend!

The track has been inspired by the very famous photo of these 'Pillars of Creation' which was taken by the NASA Hubble Space Telescope, and re-taken very recently. I wanted the track to represent a space mission that was on it's way to the outer rims of our galaxy to see these gigantic pillars of gas. The journey would be very turbulent on the way there but in my head I wanted to create an 'epic' sounding and emotional piece of music that would really suit the feelings that you would experience as you looked out of the spacecraft's windows, as these massive natural phenomena appeared right in front of you. Geeky I know haha..but this was my whole thought process behind it all.. 

It was also heavily inspired by amazing films like 'Interstellar' and film soundtrack composers like the musical genius Hans Zimmer, and also of course influenced by the 'BXR' sound!

For our next release we are bringing you collaboration between Andrew Cash from Italy and DJ Massymo Tn from Tunisia. These two guys have produced an outstanding trance track called Strange World that features magnificent vocal choirs from the very start, coupled with driving basslines and a beautiful piano hook. As we drift further into the track the bell like synths enter the mix before everything eases out in one serene breakdown. The heart of the track focuses on providing a full vocal choirs treatment that is so beautiful... until you know it, the main lead shows up and lifts us again.

The title of this incredibly relaxing piece reflects the beauty of this melody laced release & the time it would've taken to produce this. Regardless of your mood, the sounds of soft & light hearted textures are bound to take you away to another place where only your thoughts linger around you like a burst of flavor would linger on your taste buds. The original speaks volumes with the way the structure is softly elevated throughout, setting the scene for all the musical elements to combine, allowing you to feel each segment of it.
