Gemnital, born in the 80s and grew up in the 90s, embarked on a diverse musical journey encompassing hip-hop, R&B, rock, jazz, ambient and experimental genres, exploring realms like psychedelic, funk, and disco.

During his time in Leipzig, Germany, he immersed himself in underground warehouse parties amidst ruins and forests. Later in Berlin, he found his true identity in clubs and queer parties, mastering the creation of energy and ambiance in diverse spaces.

"Chu" means to hide or end, and "Chushu" marks the retreat of summer heat as autumn approaches. Mornings and evenings are cooler, though midday can still be warm.

"The autumn equinox marks the moment when restlessness fades, and inner peace gradually takes over," said @kerenahsu. This mix comes from the live recording of her DJ set at our "Fallinging Upon -- Ambient Greenhouse" party on Aug. 31, 2024.

"I hope this set helps dispel any anxious feelings. It's perfect for any time (except when you're looking for a high). It works well as background music and feels comfortable and calming. I even listen to it while playing video games (?" shared Kerena.

Kerena is currently based in Taipei and began DJing in the year of 2022. Her diverse musical influences, ranging from disco, soul, rare grooves, hip-hop, to jazz have shaped a rich foundation for her DJing. 

Starting her DJ journey by exploring everything deep, funky, and soulful, her sets interweave various genres such as house, leftfield bass, and breaks, creating warmth and a unique atmosphere with intensely rhythmic, euphoric song selections.

Kerena: "When I was invited to DJ at inging's “Ambient Greenhouse”, the first track that came to mind was definitely “Duel” by Posm. I first heard this song by chance at a record store in Tokyo. The atmosphere of the shop and the track had a strange chemistry that made me unable to leave, as if I were drawn in. I later found out that Posm is actually an alias for Cousin, a producer I already loved, in his ambient works!"

Recently, Kerena has gained new perspectives on DJing. After watching Theo Parrish's interview at Potato Head, she's been inspired to seek out warmer sounds.

Kerena：「被邀請來inging的 “Ambient Greenhouse” 放歌時，第一個想到絕對要放的歌就是 Posm的 “Duel”，這首歌是在東京一家record store偶然聽到的，當下店裡給的氛圍和這首歌有著奇妙的化學作用，讓我久久無法離開，彷彿被吸住了一般，後來才發現Posm其實就是我很喜歡的producer “Cousin” 別名的ambient作品！」

近期的Kerena在放歌方面有些新的觀點，看了Theo Parrish在Potato Head的採訪，也開始想找回更溫暖的音色。

Autumn Equinox 秋分 (Qiufen)

The midpoint of autumn, when day and night are of equal length. After the “autumn equinox”, temperatures will noticeably cool down. However, the elders often advise not to layer on too many clothes too early, as a moderate chill in autumn helps the body adapt to lower temperatures—a practice known as “autumn freezing (秋凍)”. Better to adapt accordingly than to avoid overcompensating.

“I’ve come to cherish the sunlight more and more,” says 8228 @mtlhcsvpn2fg, who recently moved from Taiwan to Iceland and recorded this mix there for the Orbitinging series.

She shared how Iceland’s weather is incredibly moody: one moment it is raining, the next, the sun comes out. "When there's no sun, it's freezing cold, so the sunny moments here are much appreciated. The whole city seems to come alive when the sun is out. you can see people enjoying the sunshine everywhere. The scenery becomes especially beautiful during these moments."

She adds, "In this mix, you’ll hear my feelings about Iceland. There was a volcanic eruption recently, and the Northern Lights have just started appearing. The daylight hours are quickly shortening, and every day you can feel the endless night getting closer. Sometimes the cold wind is so strong it feels like you’ll be blown away, and other times the sun is so bright you can’t open your eyes and wonder if you’re in heaven. But no matter what, the air is always cold and clear."

Originally from Taiwan and now based in Iceland, 8228 loves exploring different music genres, finding order in chaos, and creating unique sounds by layering broken beats. 8228: "'Intimate (Club Mix)' by Erika de Casier is probably the least ambient track in the mix, but I love the romantic vibe it brings."

Recently, 8228 has been busy with life matters such as visa and school issues since her arrival in Iceland. She'll head to Denmark for a party in October, and beyond that, she hopes to focus more actively on creating.

The temperature drops further, and the dew on the ground becomes colder during "Cold Dew" compared to "White Dew". During this time, the crisp autumn air makes it ideal for hiking and exercising. It is important to avoid excessive exposure to the cold, particularly by keeping the feet warm to prevent the cold from entering the body.

比起「白露」氣溫下降較多，地面的露水也更冷，故名「寒露」。此時秋高氣爽，宜登高健行、鍛鍊身體，忌貪涼足寒，避免寒氣由腳竄入全身。

Orbitinging 03 - 8228

"With the sun fading, a sense of time dissolves. The dampness and chill bring me back to the annual transition between autumn and winter—pondering, reflecting. The misty mountains, hot tea, and the warm glow of a fireplace create a peaceful, burning red light, heavy coats, runny noses," BO YIN @lzr9e4brb433 reflects on this shift from autumn to winter, introducing her fourth mix for the Orbitinging series.

As a dancer, she fell into party culture through dance. She hopes that music is not only about dancing, but also a medium for deep dialogue with emotions, creating an absolute space for listeners to have a dialogue with themselves.

BO YIN believes, “In life, music inspires and inherits people's history and records, infinite emotions. It allows our silent inner being to be revealed, communicated and shared.” As a DJ, she hopes to share music in a way that gives listeners a sense of belonging at every moment—whether in the collective joy of a party or the inner universe when alone, she is always with them.

She says this mix is perfect for listening alone, with friends or a partner, while driving long distances, taking evening walks, making tea or coffee, during late-night insomnia  or a bad trip.

When asked to pick a track, she shares ‘We Fall in Love’ by Lamb: “It’s a song I discovered early in my journey into electronic music. I was 18, dancing with friends in a warmly lit room. It moved me so much that I even wrote a poem about it."

She continues, "This mix feels like a 'Me time' compilation. Sometimes it's boring, sometimes thoughtful, sometimes gloomy, sometimes full of energy. I didn't deliberately plan smooth transitions or emotions; it’s more like the different feelings that randomly pop into my head."

BO YIN loves ambient music because it quietly integrates into a meditative flow, whether walking through the city with headphones or zoning out. "I hope this set brings some unexpected moments, or maybe surprises at a street corner."

Looking ahead to her November show at Toha Radio, BO YIN is excited. She’s also started saving up to learn music production, with dreams of being invited to perform abroad in Europe someday.

BO YIN認為在生活裡，音樂啟發、承接了人們的歷史，並記載了無限的情感，「它使我們的無聲內在得以流露、溝通、分享」，她並希望透過DJ的身分，伴隨無論是派對裡的集體之歡或是獨身時的內在宇宙，讓聽者在各個時刻皆有其歸所。

於是她說，這個混音適合單獨或與朋友、伴侶一起降落時聆聽，或開遠程車、晚上失眠、夜間散步，或也適合泡一杯茶或咖啡的時間、Bad Trip的時候聆聽。

BO YIN：「來自Lamb的『We fall in love』是我初踏上聽電子音樂這條路時，與友人在溫暖黃光室內中、狀態內。而我聽著這首歌舞蹈著，當時才18歲的我，感動、感悟，還為了這首歌寫了一篇詩。」

「這個混音比較像一個我的Me time綜合體，她有時無聊有時有想法，有時沉悶、有時有活力。這一次較無刻意的安排每個溫順的接法與情緒，較像在自己腦中時而會冒出的不同感受。」

BO YIN說她喜歡Ambient是在聆聽時，悄悄地融入至神遊心流中，無論是走在街上戴著耳機、或是發呆。「我希望這個Set能帶給大家一種出其不意的感覺，它也許會撞出某些驚喜出來，也許會在哪一條街口上發生。」

談到11月要去Toha radio放歌，BO YIN說很開心！近期她也開始存錢想學音樂製作，夢想是哪天能被表演機會帶出國歐旅。

Aloïs Yang is a nomadic artist, conceptual media creator, and experimental musician, born in France and made in Taiwan. Xïola Yin is the opposite yet not contradictory side of Aloïs Yang. A complementary deconstruction of art-production, shifting perceptions through personal recordings, emotions, and memories, aims for mystical therapeutic outcomes, offering multi-self expression and a dive into the essence of art for art's sake—an act of "Cycletherapy©."

Orbitinging 05 - Aloïs Yang with Xïola Yin (Live)

“Just as some animals begin to prepare for hibernation, cities and people are preparing for winter. It's the season when I miss my bed in the morning, but getting out of your comfort zone is the beginning of finding a new self,” Toner @Yutaroy reflects on Minor Snow while presenting the 6th mix for Orbitinging series.

He mentioned that he was conscious of using tracks with a cold feeling, as well as those that deeply affect the spirit, recreating a groove different from dance music—chilly yet serious, but still heartwarming. Toner added, “Please listen to it at home while you chill out, meditate, and when you are feeling peace and comfort.”

Toner first encountered the alternative underground music scene while living in Taiwan. After returning to Japan, he continued to expand the boundaries of dance music. He is a lover of hidden gems and uncategorizable experimental music. Since 2022, he has started the deep listening-focused chill-out community “LIMINAL DREAMS” with Toss and Kaana, and is responsible for directing events in Tokyo.

He has performed at well-known outdoor festivals such as “rural” and “Transcendence” in Japan, “Organik Festival” in Taiwan, and “Wonderfruit” in Thailand.

“‘67-Oph’ by Strange Antiquark,” which Toner specially selected to share with us, captures the feeling he tried to infuse throughout the entire recording—“unique and has contemporary structure, not too serious, but sounds still fun,” he said.

Toner is always happy to share his music library whenever the opportunity arises, whether at outdoor festivals, clubs or radio shows. He will be presenting an ambient set consisting entirely of Japanese ambient artists at an upcoming festival in December, with more information to be updated on his page. “I am a firm believer that DJs are artists. As a selector, it will be a very challenging and exciting experience,” he added.

"The great snow blankets the entire land, creating a suffocating feeling," KUAN @kuan1 described "Major Snow" while presenting the 7th mix for the Orbitinging series. He characterized the mix as "perfect for a quiet late night, in this cold weather, with a small light on, lying in bed, and listening through your headphones."

As a resident DJ of PURE G from Taipei, KUAN is passionate about the atmospheres and futuristic sounds created by spatial Techno, IDM, and irregular breakbeats. He is also a familiar face in Taipei's underground electronic music scene.

KUAN specially selected "Void" by Formant Value from the mix to share with us. He remarked that the track's overall tone evokes a dark and mysterious atmosphere, yet interspersed with a feeling of the sun slowly rising. "It symbolizes the hardships of modern life. While challenges and setbacks are inevitable, there’s always a way to overcome them," he explained.

Now taking a break from a busy period, KUAN expressed his desire to start learning music production. He also mentioned that the upcoming New Year’s Eve event is worth looking forward to. "The line-up is absolutely amazing," he added with a smile.

For PAPAYA, Winter Solstice holds a certain elusiveness—“The late arrival of the cold always comes with a touch of surprise and unpredictability. It’s only when the chill truly sets in that you think, ah, maybe it’s time to bring out the coat!” It is also a time for self-retreat and concealment. This mix was recorded live during their performance at our "Fallinging Upon — Ambient Greenhouse" party on August 31, 2024. “We hope this mix can offer a healing power to our friends,” they said.

“PAPAYA帕帕雅 - Don’t Be Scared” is a duo composed of Taipei-based Chun Ling Chiu @andy-chiu-9 and Berlin-based Lu Xiao Qi @yoniworldwide —a spiritual guide sharing the history of food and its healing uses, discussing healthy eating, and exploring unique food experiences. Unlock the past and dive deep into spiritual thoughts through the lens of food, all while radiating warmth like a dose of daily vitamins. They hope to nourish your soul and body. They describe their collaborative creative process as crafting a recipe together: “We sample real ingredients and food preparation sounds—from the process of making food to eating, and even digestion. Along the way, we incorporate various information and knowledge about food, including snippets from food shows. These sounds and fragments come together organically, creating a performance that feels alive.”

When asked about future collaborations or performances, PAPAYA responded with confidence: “This collaboration is just a small part of what PAPAYA has to offer. We are eagerly looking forward to meeting again and continuing to bring more spiritual nourishment to everyone.”

"The wind gently blows, and the rain falls endlessly," is how Cloudy Ku @cloudyku describes the essence of Minor Cold. She presents the 9th mix for the Orbitinging series, and as for the best way to enjoy it, she says, "Feel free to explore your own way."

Cloudy Ku is a Taiwan-born, Australia-based DJ, Producer and label head of HER他 @hermusicequality & SPEED速度. As a DJ, she fuses her vast love of techno, trance and experimental music into her own unique gabber blend. Ku also hosts a fortnightly radio programme on Hong Kong Community Radio. Now based in Naarm / Melbourne, Ku is inspired by a different culture and a luscious electronic music scene, continuing the momentum that has earned her the attention of both music fans and international labels alike.

Speaking about this mix, Ku shared that it holds deep significance for her: "It includes works by my friends as well as tracks I played during the Jenn Lee London Fashion Week show and Kwia in Berlin. It captures the beautiful memories of my European tour last summer. I hope you’ll enjoy it."

In January 2025, Cloudy Ku and DJ Ali's new track “Angel Dust” will be released under Amphibian. At the end of February, she will participate in the Asia Topa Festival as a creator, delivering a music and dance performance titled “pin-pin-piàng-piàng”. “To my friends in Australia, don’t miss it! I hope to return to Taiwan by late April. If I have the chance to perform, I look forward to seeing you there,” she said excitedly.

現居墨爾本的Cloudy Ku是澳洲廠牌「HER他」的創始人之一，並同時經營著「SPEED速度」廠牌。他擅長當代電子樂，風格融合了Ambient、Techno、Trance 和實驗音樂，並注入充滿活力的Gabber元素，曾在世界各地的音樂祭等場景演出。Ku是香港聯合電台HKCR和墨爾本 Hope St Radio的客席主持，也曾在Mama Snake廠牌Amniote Editions參與合輯並發行，並為時尚和數位藝術界製作混音帶和聲音設計。

Orbitinging 09 - Cloudy Ku

"Don't know why, but on the coldest day of the year, I always feel the urge to release those long-suppressed emotions buried deep inside." LYM @david-lin-60 presents the 10th mix for the Orbitinging series with this mood for Major Cold. He recommends listening during long commutes in the cold wave, wearing noise-canceling headphones to experience the interplay between the persistent ambient noise and the music. "Of course, you can also enjoy it quietly indoors, but I would suggest savoring it alone," he added.

As a Co-founder of Taipei’s independent music station TOHA Radio @toharadio, LYM avoids rigidly defining music by genre, believing that good music speaks for itself. He sees music as universal yet inherently tied to cultural identity, with the ultimate goal of discovering the unique rhythms and sounds of Taiwan.

inging: "Share a track from the mix with us?"

LYM: "The final track is one of my favorites: ‘Mogwai Fear Satan,’ an early work by my beloved post-rock band Mogwai. This 15-minute classic relies on a simple riff but layers multiple instruments and effects, infusing each segment with intricate details."

He shared that the explosive segments of the track never fail to move him to tears. "The gentleness that follows the explosive moments is indescribably beautiful. I hope to close with this song, leaving everyone with a warm sense of hope for the new year." By the end of the interview, LYM seemed to return to his initial reflections on Major Cold.

Recently, LYM has been busy with his job as well as managing TOHA Radio. He revealed plans for a potential anniversary event in April and encouraged everyone to stay tuned.

LYM：「最後一首歌，是我最愛的後搖滾樂團Mogwai的早期作品『Mogwai Fear Satan』。長達15分鐘的經典後搖滾作品，整首歌幾乎只使用一個簡單的 riff，卻能透過多把樂器與效果器交疊，讓每一個段落都飽含滿滿的細節。」

他提到，每次聽見該曲「大爆炸的段落」，都激動地忍不住泛淚，「大爆炸後的段落也是溫柔到不行，希望用這首歌做ending，讓大家對新的一年有更多暖心的期待」LYM在訪談的最後彷彿扣回了一開始對於大寒的感悟。

Orbitinging 10 - LYM

"Time flies, and the years remain serene." This is how Sarah Sü @sarah-su-307563607 describes Spring Commences, recalling that when she was invited to create this mix, it was deep winter, and she was experiencing both the best and worst of a whirlwind 2024. "A huge thanks to inging for the invitation—this feels like a moment to bravely embrace a new beginning," she said. Her mix for the 11th Orbitinging series is "meant to be enjoyed in the sunlight, whether on a balcony or by a window, accompanied by a cup of hot tea—a moment to be with yourself and welcome a fresh start," she added.

Sarah Sü, the founder of Soul-song Massage (魂爽療癒所), a massage and body wellness brand, believes that the frequencies of music can bring healing on different levels. She continuously explores various styles and nostalgic elements through beats and tunes. Her sets are infused with passion and inspired by different chapters of her life.

She selected “The Parallel” by OVDS from the mix to share with us—one of her all-time favorite tracks and a production by her friend's band. "Every time I hear it, I feel deeply moved to tears. I’m truly grateful for the gentleness of this song," she shared.

Looking ahead, Sarah revealed plans to co-found a music label with friends, hoping to host events, connect with more people, and dive into an exciting and busy new chapter.

Orbitinging 11 - Sarah Sü

"‘Rain Water’ is the second solar term of spring, isn't it?” To Mohemann @mohemann, the increase in rainfall signifies the beginning of new growth, making this a season of rising energy. He presents the 12th Orbitinging, adding "This mix is best enjoyed in a calm, undisturbed environment, ideally in nature, where you can feel the presence of natural light and air. Of course, you can also listen while walking, using noise-canceling headphones to immerse yourself in the experience."

Mohemann a.k.a. Lyu Zhi-Qiang from China is an artist and DJ who creates collages through a variety of styles of music. To him, the process of DJing is a serious artistic endeavor and a rite of passage to peer into one's own heart and world. He hosts the techno label and radio station “Tunnel”, which is present in all the major clubs across China; runs the ambient music label “Eerawai Ambient Series” and participates in the curating the Minimal music event “M.A.N.L”. He is also a resident DJ at one of Beijing's renowned underground clubs “Zhao Dai”.

Favouring cool and serious music, his genres span Ambient, Minimal, Techno, Deep, Dub, Hypnotic, Psychedelic and Experimental. He explores the creative combination of experimental electronic and dance music, focusing on the deeper self-reflection and self-experience expressed through sound. In this way, he pursues the infinite freedom of mind and body in a limited timeline.

He has selected a Chinese track from this mix—"Spring Song" by He Xuntian—to share with us. He first heard it through a friend and was immediately moved. "For years, I never had the right opportunity to play this song. Recently, I’ve tried incorporating it into different gigs, but it never felt quite right—until now. While preparing this mix, I finally felt this was the perfect moment for it."

It was during the Chinese New Year holiday while preparing for this mix, that Mohemann also took the opportunity to travel and unwind, resetting himself for the year ahead. He revealed that he is preparing to release a new compilation for his lable "Tunnel", and expressed excitement about having more opportunities this year to share his music in different places as well as building new connections worldwide.

來自中國的Mohemann a.k.a. Lyu Zhi-Qiang是位藝術家和DJ，在他看來DJ的過程是嚴肅的藝術創作，也是一場窺探自己內心和世界的儀式。他所主辦的Techno音樂廠牌及廣播電台「隧道Tunnel」，足跡遍布中國各大重要地下場景；同時經營氛圍音樂廠牌「海市蜃楼（Eerawai Ambient Series）」、並擔任Minimal音樂類型活動「M.A.N.L」的策畫。他同時也是北京地下場景「招待所（Zhao Dai）」的常駐DJ。

Mohemann偏愛冷靜嚴肅的音樂，善於透過多種風格進行拼貼創作，橫跨Ambient、Minimal、Techno、Deep、Dub、Hypnotic、Psychedelic、Experimental等類型，探索實驗電子樂與舞曲的創造性結合，關注音樂表達深層的自我反思與自身體驗，從而追尋有限時間線中，心靈與身體的無限自由。

在這次的混音作品中，他特別挑選了一首中文歌──何训田的《春歌》──和我們分享，這是他從朋友那兒聽來的歌，說聽到的當下就十分感動：「這些年一直沒有機會放，最近也試圖在很多場合去放，但一直覺得不是很合適，直到準備這個set時，覺得這應該是最合適的時候了。」

Orbitinging 12 - Mohemann

“After hard times, hope everything finds its right place.” This is how Short Finger @short_finger describes Insects Waken. He created a one-hour sonic journey for Orbitinging, which also serves as a requiem for his dear friend. On Lunar New Year’s Day, he lost his closest colleague, Ill Ahn @tortugaroom, a beloved figure in Seoul’s techno scene. “We share the same vision of the future. I wish him rest in peace and to hope that this sound could guide him to a more peaceful place,” he added.

Seoul-based DJ and producer Short Finger uniquely visualizes electronic sounds in his mind in his own way, drawing from his background as a graphic designer. He focuses on the impact and principles of sound frequencies on humans, seeking to uncover unseen connections. He believes that through this exploration, music has the power to heal.

This sound design work is infused with Short Finger’s deep remembrance of Ill Ahn. The melody of Hakuna Matata evokes memories of their nickname for him, “Pumbaa”; Hip-hop elements represent his early musical roots; floating electronic sounds symbolizing his journey to heaven; and the traditional Korean instrumental music representing “Cheondojae (천도재)”, a Buddhist ritual for the deceased. 

"Just six days before he passed away, he had invited two Taiwanese DJs to perform at his event," Short Finger recalls. He selected a passage from 40'00" to 50'00" of the mix to share with us: " I hope to find an unexpected harmony moving toward heaven within the scattered electronic sounds."

Recently, Short Finger has been working with his team, Art Independent Movement, to find synergy between art and music. “We are all deeply inspired by electronic music and are expanding our movement from clubs to galleries, events, and more,” he shared.

“An infinite landscape stretching beyond the horizon.” This is how ting @tng1x envisions the Spring Equinox, expressed through her contribution to Orbitinging’s 14th mix. “I don’t think there’s a specific time for this mix, it’s meant for whenever and wherever you want to space out, in a quiet train ride, headlights on an empty road, the hum of work, or the staring of 3 AM at the ceiling, just hit play. It doesn’t matter when you start listening--just let it take you somewhere that is beyond reach but still feels nostalgic,” she adds.

ting is a Persian-Taiwanese DJ based in Kaohsiung, crafts sets that balance refinement with raw, ethereal and dreamy energy, blending ambient, IDM, DnB, techno and experimental music into deep, rhythmic journeys.

Since last year, ting has been diving deep into music production, and it’s been a fulfilling journey for her-- trying to crave out her own sound, uncover her creative identity and figure out what truly resonates with her as a person besides DJing. Orbitinging 14 - ting

"’Bright and Clear‘ has a calming feeling, perfect for lying down." This is how Tsuuu @ijmpdlwddulf describes “Bright and Clear”, as he brings the mix for Orbitinging’s 15th series—"Just lie down and listen," he says.

Originally from Taipei and now based in Tokyo, Tsuuu has a background in classical music. Began listening to a vast array of rock and electronic music during his early age. From the 70s experimental rock to post punk and new wave, his avant-garde and diverse listening experiences have shaped his distinct taste in music selection.

Tsuuu highlights Pink Floyd's "Echoes Part 2 (Live at Pompeii)" from the mix: "This has always been one of my favorite songs. The mix includes the live version from 1972, where the original track was split into two parts—this is the second half. I hope everyone also listens to the full 23-and-a-half-minute original version." Listening to this track feels like reliving his student days, while its latter section seems to reflect the clarity of the current solar term, “Bright and Clear,“ and its transition to a warmer weather.

Lately, he has been busy playing “Monster Hunter” and eagerly awaiting the June release of “Death Stranding 2”.

“Love was a phase we’d have to pray to make it true.” LinGia @lin-gia echoes the mood of “Grain Rain” with this lyric, and brings her own contribution to Orbitinging’s 16th mix. “This is a mix meant to be heard in a Don’t Say Goodbye embrace,” she says.

LinGia is derived from the Taiwanese Minnan pronunciation of “Lín tsí--á (恁姊仔)”, symbolizing a rebellious attitude that breaks conventions and challenges boundaries—an ethos reflected in her music, which refuses to be confined to a single genre. She is also a member of the HomoPleasure Collective, and since 2023, has been actively collaborating with queer communities through Qoo Pa’s guerrilla-style parties, exploring the limitless possibilities of what a party can be.

On the dance floor, LinGia excels at building a boundless core of energy through the groovy foundations of Detroit Techno, blending deep house, ghetto, italo disco, and drum & bass into a vivid and kaleidoscopic club experience. Most recently, she participated in HomoPleasure’s 2025 tour at Sydney’s Mardi Gras Queer Festival in Australia and appeared on the FBi Radio Show.

This mix is her long song dedicated to a friend, a heartfelt farewell beyond words--revisiting her 2024 closing set at Speed Bpm in Berlin’s Kwia.

"Grain grows with the rain." As rainfall increases, conditions become favorable for rice cultivation—hence the name Grain Rain. However, the high humidity during this period can lead to illness. “I don’t know—actually, I don’t really like summer.” That’s Sulk @user-209866721 ’s straightforward take on Summer Commences, and it quietly informs the 17th installment of the Orbitinging mix series. “This mix includes scattered fragments from my life around May and June last year,” she says, “so maybe it’s best listened to in May or June (?).”

As a member of Shenzhen's OIL Soundsystem and Taipei based party collective Pure G, Sulk combines his passion for music with his party experiences, mastering various genres on decks naturally became his specialty. His selection is fierce with a sense of elegance, and that’s his secret to create the ruthless and irresistible vibe to the dance floor. Having inspiration from early EBM and Techno pioneers, his set often combine those sounds with some weird dancehall, baile funk, IDM, footwork and some jungle, or even some disco and new wave. Except from playing in various clubs in Taiwan and China, you can also find his appearances on online radios like NTS, Internet Public Radio etc, and he is now hosting the Platonic Intimacy show with Yinan on Baihui Radio to present more off–the–club sounds.

From the mix, Sulk singles out Cindy Lee – What’s Tonight To Eternity: “My friend illsee introduced it to me while we were playing a set at “Zhaodai On Leave”. We had a great time with friends. Afterward, I spent a few days alone in Tianjin and got sick, but the song and the scenes from the festival kept looping in my head.” For him, it’s a track perfectly suited to processing “the emptiness that lingers after emotionally intense moments.”

Grain Buds refers to the moment when summer crops begin to plump but are not yet ripe — "small fullness," as the name suggests. During this season, rainfall increases, humidity builds, and the body may retain heat and dampness. A diet that is light and cleansing is recommended, along with moderate exercise to promote circulation.

物致於此小得盈滿也，指夏熟作物的籽粒開始飽滿，但還未成熟，故名小滿。此時雨水頻繁、易蘊積濕熱，飲食宜清爽清淡，清熱利濕，適度運動助氣血流通。

Orbitinging 18 - A-Ty Lin

“In a way mirrors where I am - after three steady years of building, often uncertain, choosing patience over urgency, something is shifting - feels like harvest might be approaching.” This is how Kristina Klimova @kristina-klimova-76133915 reflects on “Grain in Ear” and on the occasion of presenting the 19th edition of the Orbitinging mix series. “It’s either for deep active listening or background kind of vibe as you move through your day while you need something gentle around you,” she adds.

Born in Kazakhstan and raised across a few different places, Kristina moved through life much like the nomads of her homeland once did. Her biggest musical influence came in Melbourne, where she became a member of the legendary MESS studio—an experience that opened up the world of analogue sound.

While she enjoys playing and producing across various rhythmically charged genres, she loves raw, acoustic sounds of indigenous instruments, especially when fused with analogue textures. An urban planner by profession, she’s passionate about making planning sexy and inclusive, and dreams of the day when sound becomes a serious part of city-making.

Kristina highlights “Instigator Barbie“ from Authentically Plastic from her mix, saying “This mix can sit with you in different ways, there’s a softness, but also something slightly unsettled underneath — a quiet tension that comes and goes.”

Alongside her work with Pe.Pl.CULT, she’s currently compiling a book featuring people like “you” (anyone reading this) — those experimenting with public space and contributing to city-shaping in all kinds of ways. Since 2022, she has also been developing a long-term shelter prototype for displaced people — a stay concept rooted in care and dignity.

Orbitinging 19 - Kristina Klimova

“Dazed and sticky”—that’s how WOODO @woodowooodo remembers the Summer Solstice:
“When I was a kid, I spent a whole week in the hospital during the Summer Solstice. Most of that time I was feverish, dazed, sweaty, and dreaming a lot—and honestly, the dreams felt more comfortable than reality. That’s the most vivid memory I have of this season,” he says, as he brings the 20th edition of the Orbitinging mix series. “This set is for when you’ve had a really bad day or feel emotionally detached—it’s something that can sit with you and offer empathy,” he adds. “Best listened to alone, in your living room.”

WOODO’s musical taste swings between icy and playful electronic sounds, he has a deep love for music influenced by bass and dub. He is recently adding more house tracks to his sets while exploring the sweet spot where old and new music coexist.

From the mix, he highlights “Statuario” by Romeo Poirier, a French DJ and producer known for reworking his own tracks into entirely new compositions. “Romeo's music has a sustained organic pulse. Statuario layers birdsong with looping clarinet lines—subtle at first, but the deeper you listen, the clearer the details and melodies become.”

WOODO remains busy with Romantic Studio’s ongoing projects and also organizes a regular ambient-focused DJ event “Tang Tang (躺躺)” at Taipei’s Moon Romantic, inviting listeners to lie down and experience electronic and world music beyond the dancefloor.

「恍惚與黏膩」是WOODO @woodowooodo 記憶裡夏至的模樣：「兒時曾在夏至當週住院一週，多數的時間因發燒而恍惚、黏膩、做了很多夢，夢裡面反而舒服點。想起夏至最直觀的記憶便是這個。」他為Orbitinging系列帶來第20部混音作品：「當你過了很糟的一天，或是情緒很抽離的時候，這個set應該可以伴著你、同理你」他補充道，適合一個人在客廳聆聽。

WOODO的選曲風格，擺盪於冷冽及調皮的電子聲響之間，鍾愛受Bass與Dub影響的曲風，近期亦注入了House，並開始在新舊音樂間找尋並存的甜蜜點。

他特別從混音中挑選了Romeo Poirier的〈Statuario〉與我們分享。來自法國的DJ／Producer “Romeo Poirier” 時常以自己製作的音樂進行質疑與重構，用一首歌的片段再創作新的曲目。他的音樂也展現出持續性的有機脈搏，〈Statuario〉一曲交融鳥鳴聲與循環進行的單簧管，越是沈浸，細節與旋律越發清晰。

近期的WOODO仍忙碌於本業──台日音樂組織「浪漫的工作室」企劃，同時持續在「台北月見君想」籌辦以ambient為主的DJ活動〈躺躺〉，邀請人們躺著聆聽非舞曲的電子音樂及世界音樂。

Summer Solstice 夏至 (XiàZhì)

The sun reaches its highest position and yang energy peaks—marking the longest daylight of the year. All life flourishes, while sudden thunderstorms become frequent. It's a time to clear internal heat, eat more fruits and vegetables, stay active, and nurture the heart and spirit. Avoid staying up late or overindulging in cool air to prevent illness caused by dampness or sudden chill.

日影至此而極，陽氣至盛，為一年中白晝最長之時。萬物繁盛，多雷陣雨。宜清泄暑熱、多吃蔬果，養心安神多運動，忌夜臥貪涼惹病上身。

Orbitinging 20 - WOODO

“Stay cool, because the heat is on, and the beat goes on! Heatwaves have been very intense in NYC & Europe so far, “小暑 (Minor Heat)” is more like “中暑 (Heatstroke)”, stay hydrated!“ That’s how Timo Lee @timoleenyc describes her feeling about Minor Heat, as she brings the 21st entry in the Orbitinging series. “You can listen to this mix in the afternoon with your Aperol sprits in the sunshine with your homies or just alone in the comfort of your home to feel the emotions of the music,” she adds.

Hailing from Hawaii and Taiwan, DJ/producer Timo Lee now calls Brooklyn home. Her DJ journey began with a radio show in Honolulu more than two decades ago, leading to performances and residencies at DJ Harvey’s thirtyninehotel. Now Timo plays in Brooklyn at many nightclubs and bars including Good Room and a regular on The Lot Radio. She also co-owns Bevy, a cocktail discotheque in Honolulu for the past decade.

She is the booker behind Good Bar’s vinyl sessions and label head of Chomp! Chomp! Records @chompchomprecords. Timo's DJ sets are a vibrant blend of genres, ensuring a rhythmic experience that keeps your fingers tapping and heads bobbing. She believes music should evoke deep emotions, and she approaches it with a boundaryless ethos. From the mix, she highlights "Summer Madness" by Kool & The Gang, calling it: “My soundtrack of summer indeed :)”

Lately Timo had been traveling a lot around Asia, back to NYC and now Europe, playing in the French Riviera and Love International Festival in Croatia this July. She’s looking forward to “a fun summer ahead… and lots of music to share with y’all!” she says excitedly.

來自夏威夷與台灣的 DJ／製作人 Timo Lee，現居紐約布魯克林。她的DJ生涯始於二十多年前，在檀香山主持廣播節目，並曾於當地「DJ Harvey’s thirtyninehotel」擔任駐場 DJ。如今她活躍於布魯克林多樣場景，包括Good Room和The Lot Radio。她也是夏威夷場景Bevy的共同經營者，並於當地穩定推動音樂文化十餘年。

Minor Heat 小暑 (XiǎoShǔ)

The heat gradually intensifies but is not yet at its peak, hence the name "Minor Heat". It marks the approach of midsummer, with steam and heat rising in the air. To stay healthy, avoid prolonged sun exposure, seek shade, and rest when possible. A diet rich in fruits and cooling foods is recommended, while excessive consumption of cold foods should be avoided to protect the spleen and stomach.

暑氣漸盛，未至極熱，故名小暑。此時盛夏將臨，天地蒸騰之氣漸現，日照炎熱宜伏居，應避免長時間曝晒以防中暑。飲食宜清涼、多吃水果解暑，忌生冷過量、損脾傷胃。

Orbitinging 21 - Timo Lee

“Major Heat feels like a negotiation between my body, mind and spirit of letting go and accepting that there is nothing else to do, except slowing down, seeking a cool spot, not to forget to drink plenty of water and surrender.” This is how Bernhard Hollinger @bernhardhollinger feels from “Major Heat” as he brings the 22th Orbitinging series – “listen when you are feeling the heat wave (e.g. on your headphones in a steamy commute, sweating in the streets, on your bike or at home through your speakers)”, he suggests.

“Let this be the soundtrack of the heat—mentally massaging you, exciting you, spacing you out, and capturing all those subtle moments along the way. Your body might feel disoriented and paralyzed under the burning sun, the relief when you finally find a cool spot to rest, the heavy humidity in the air. You can feel the water inside your body warming up as everything slows down—a contrast between excitement and stillness, where time begins to bend,” he adds.

Bernhard Hollinger is a Berlin-based multi-layered musician, bass player, composer and producer whose work spans Improvised Music, Avantgarde, Neue Musik, Jazz, Ambient and Electronic Music. His debut album 1987 was released on Boomslang Records in April 2025. 

He also curates the experimental platform “Lo-Fi Playground”, and hosts the monthly radio show Space Lab Transmissions on 90mil Radio, which focuses on unusual formats, adventurous music, and improvising musicians from (but not limited to) the Berlin scene.

Bernhard highlights Ulla’s “Chest of Drawers” (from the album Limitless Frame, released via Motion Ward) from his mix, “Ulla is one of my musical idols. Those abstract sound-sculptures, the play with contrast of dynamics and instruments and the flow of the music is something I have not heard before,” he says.

Recently performing at his favorite Waking Life festival in Portugal for the first time and launching his Berlin event series, Bernhard is now looking forward to performing in August with his new project Denkyū Unlimited at the BezauBeatz Festival in Austria, and in September, joining artist Eduard Klena with a sound piece for their exhibition in Bratislava. He also has an upcoming ambient release, a winter tour, and a possible return to Taiwan in 2026.

Major Heat 大暑 (DàShǔ)

It is the hottest solar term of the year, with blazing sun, heavy humidity, and frequent thunderstorms. During this time, digestive issues such as poor appetite and indigestion are common. A light, yin-nourishing diet—known as Qing Bu (gentle tonification)—is recommended. As the body’s yang energy reaches its annual high, this is also considered an ideal time for “treating winter illnesses in summer,” using seasonal warmth to expel lingering cold from the body.

暑氣至此而極，故名大暑，是一年中最炎熱的節氣，烈日高照、暑氣蒸騰，亦是雷陣雨頻繁的時期。此時易見脾胃受困、食慾不振及消化不良，故飲食宜清淡補陰，是為「清補」。大暑為全年陽氣最盛，亦是「冬病夏治」的好時機。

Orbitinging 22 - Bernhard Hollinger

“i grew up on the east coast in new jersey and after school in the midwest and a few years on the west coast, i moved back home and realized deep in my bones, i’m an east coast gal! i need the revolution of 4 seasons and autumn is forever my favorite season. nothing beats an east coast autumn—as the summer heat starts to cool, it’s back-to-school season, and the leaves begin to transform and glow with earthy, vibrant hues. it’s apple picking season!” This is how vicki huang @vickihuang feels about “Autumn Commences,” as they bring the 23rd Orbitinging mix.

“it’s an ambient IDM glitch mix for spacing out, laying on the grass with your headphones on to enjoy all the ear candy—bleeps and bloops, brain food, bits and bytes,” they add. “i was a spacey kid and still am a space cadet!”

vicki huang is a Taiwanese-American musician, DJ, and vinyl storyteller focused on the preservation and revival of Taiwanese folk music. Their work explores diasporic memory through archival materials combined with contemporary downtempo and electronic grooves. Based in Taiwan, they are a resident DJ at Taipei’s 潮電Bar&RecordStore and founder of 鹽埕區長salt district mayor,  a living archive and audiovisual label devoted to forgotten voices and field recordings from Taiwan’s roots culture.

vicki highlights “brood xii - brood xii” from their mix—a track by John Hughes III, founder of Chicago-based IDM label Hefty Records. “hefty was home to my childhood favorite band, ‘telefon tel aviv’. i listened to their album fahrenheit fair enough on repeat throughout high school and college—it feels like sonic home to me. ‘brood xii’ probably refers to cicadas, which reminds me of nature’s chorus in late summer.”

“hello from my childhood bedroom in new jersey!” vicki shares, visiting family and hosting a few listening sessions in NYC this midsummer. They found their old tape recorder—“my first tool for electronic music—used for field recording, sampling, and playing with soundwaves. i used to get such a kick out of the simplest effect: reverse. for this mix, i pressed reverse again—returning to the music that inspired and healed me as a kid. some tracks were ripped from my old CD collection,” they share excitedly.

vicki will return to Kaohsiung in the fall to continue working on their debut EP—a collection of downtempo/techno reimaginings of Tainan folk songs—and to prepare the first 鹽埕區長 salt district mayor vinyl release.

「我在美國東岸的紐澤西長大，在中西部念書，然後在西岸待了幾年後搬回家，才深刻地意識到：我骨子裡就是個東岸女孩！我需要四季的變換，而秋天永遠是我最喜歡的季節。沒有什麼比東岸的秋天更棒了——夏天的熱氣開始消退，就是開學的季節，樹葉開始轉變成大地氣息的色彩，亦是蘋果採收的季節！」這是黃美琦vicki huang @vickihuang 對於「立秋」的感受，他同時也為帶Orbitinging系列帶來第23部混音作品。

「混音中夾雜了ambient、IDM、glitch，適合放空、躺在草地上戴著耳機聆聽──那些嗶嗶啵啵像耳朵裡的糖果、腦部糧食以及數據碎片的聲響。」她補充道，「我從小到大就是個淘氣的孩子。」

vicki特別從混音中挑選了〈brood xii - brood xii〉與我們分享，這首歌來自 John Hughes III——芝加哥 IDM 廠牌 Hefty Records 的創辦人。「Hefty 是我童年最喜歡的樂團『telefon tel aviv』的老家。我從高中到大學每天都重複播放他們的專輯《fahrenheit fair enough》，那對我來說是音樂的家與慰藉。『brood xii』指的大概是蟬，讓我聯想到夏末大自然的合鳴。」

vicki在紐澤西兒時的臥房笑著和我們打招呼──這個夏天，她回到美國東岸陪家人，同時也在紐約籌辦幾場聆聽會。她翻出小時候使用的錄音機：「那是我做電子樂使用的第一個工具，用來錄環境音、取樣，還有把玩聲波。我以前超愛一個最簡單的效果：倒轉 (reverse)。這次的作品，我也按下了『倒轉』鍵——回到那些曾啟發我、療癒我的童年音樂。裡面有幾首甚至是我從小時候的CD裡翻出來的。」

vicki 將在秋天回到高雄，並持續創作她的首張 EP——一張將台南民謠重新詮釋為downtempo/techno曲風的作品，同時也將準備 鹽埕區長 salt district mayor 的第一張實體黑膠發行。

Autumn Commences 立秋

As the days remain hot and the mornings and evenings begin to cool, reduced rainfall can sometimes lead to even higher temperatures than during Major Heat—a phenomenon known as the “Autumn Tiger.” In traditional belief, autumn corresponds to the lungs, which are associated with the emotion of grief. Excessive sorrow can harm the lungs, so it’s important to stay calm and at ease, avoiding emotional distress.

“Before I knew it, another year had passed,” Hypolong @hypolong noted for White Dew, as she brings the 24th mix of the Orbitinging series, marking a small conclusion to its year-long cycle—“perfect for listening alone, or with a few friends over drinks and sharing good old times,” she adds.

As one of the emerging artists in Taipei, Hypolong moves fluidly through diverse scenes—from listening bars and clubs to outdoor festivals and rave parties. “It’s really hard to choose just one,” she replied when asked to highlight a track from the mix. In this work, Hypolong interlaces fragments of music she has encountered over the years—marking different stages of her life while hiding a subtle seasonal reference to the current lunar July (traditionally known as the “ghost month.”).

White Dew 白露 BáiLù

As nighttime temperatures drop more quickly, moisture in the air condenses into dew, clear and glistening like white jade—hence the name “White Dew.” At this time, the earth’s yang energy recedes while yin energy grows, bringing greater differences between day and night temperatures. With no much rainfall, the body is often troubled by dryness, commonly called “autumn dryness,” which can cause skin and respiratory discomfort. It is advisable to eat more sour foods while avoiding spicy, cold, or raw items.

夜間氣溫下降加快，水氣便凝結成露水，其晶瑩剔透呈白色，故名「白露」。此時大地陽氣漸收、陰氣漸長，日夜溫差增大，氣候少雨，人體受困於乾燥之氣，俗稱「秋燥」，易有皮膚及呼吸道症狀。宜多食酸味，忌辛辣寒涼。

“Autumn Equinox, to me, feels like stepping from the restless heat of summer air into a tunnel tinged with a quiet bleakness—where composure and passion coexist, though never in an ostentatious way.” This is how Lun reflects on “Autumn Equinox”, as he presents the 25th mix of the Orbitinging series—“Best listened to curled up in any corner you find comforting, on those late nights when emotions are tangled with contradictions and no outlet,” he adds.

Once dancing to A Tribe Called Quest in the world of hip-hop, Lun has spent recent years exploring the vast landscape of electronic music. He’s drawn to sounds that are both heavy and full of imaginative space. His sets cover a broad range of genres, from Ambient, Bass, BreakBeats to Techno, and beyond. Currently, Lun is part of the TOHA collective, bringing his diverse musical influences into his ever-evolving sonic exploration.

When asked to highlight a track from the mix, he replied: “It would have to be Lemna’s ‘Northern Boobook’. The first time I heard it, I felt an inward kind of vitality—unhurried, flowing steadily. I loved it instantly.”

Autumn Equinox 秋分 (Qiufen)

The midpoint of autumn, when day and night are of equal length. After the “autumn equinox”, temperatures will noticeably cool down. However, the elders often advise not to layer on too many clothes too early, as a moderate chill in autumn helps the body adapt to lower temperatures—a practice known as “autumn freezing (秋凍)”. Better to adapt accordingly than to avoid overcompensating.

Also perfect for a chill after party when you get home from all night of partying. Put this mix on, take a few sips of night(morning) cap. If you’re a smoker, light one up and really put your mind into enjoying that cigarette. Wind down.” she adds.

Born in California and currently moving between Taiwan and the U.S., Other Shore is interested in breaking down the private head space of each audience into a primordial swaying soup, and churning that into an enchanted mob on the dance floor.

Cold Dew 寒露 (Hanlu)

The temperature drops further, and the dew on the ground becomes colder during "Cold Dew" compared to "White Dew". During this time, the crisp autumn air makes it ideal for hiking and exercising. It is important to avoid excessive exposure to the cold, particularly by keeping the feet warm to prevent the cold from entering the body.

比起「白露」氣溫下降較多，地面的露水也更冷，故名「寒露」。此時秋高氣爽，宜登高健行、鍛鍊身體，忌貪涼足寒，避免寒氣由腳竄入全身。

Orbitinging 26 - Other Shore

“There is no winter where I’m from, only rain, humidity, and frogs singing from the gutters to remind us that ‘coldness’ here is warm, noisy, and alive.” This is Aalely @aalely ’s image of Winter Commences as he presents the 27th Orbitinging series. He recommends listening to it while on the move, working, commuting, or trying to stay awake in the heat. “Some might find it relaxing, others chaotic, but life in the tropics is always both—sleepy and tough, humid and restless,” he adds.

Aalely is a Singaporean artist exploring the edges of ritual, chaos, and collective emotion through sound. As part of the Strange Weather collective, his work moves across performance and music, blending Southeast Asian textures with experimental electronics, often rooting compositions in the porous line between the sacred and the absurd.

He especially highlights “Apocalypse Or Whatever Comes” by Gumatat Gumitit Go Spell — a Bali-based artist whose track was first released on a BDRECS compilation. “I discovered his work during a performance at a studio in Tangerang, Indonesia, and later found more of his music released by Divisi62 in June this year,” he shares, including the piece in the mix.

Aalely is currently working with two artists—Syafiq Halid and Bani Haykal—on two upcoming Strange Weather releases: “We’ve just put out two digital works, and the next two will be physical tapes. I’m also developing music of my own,” he says. Strange Weather is taking a break from shows and bookings this year to focus on these releases, which we can look forward to.

“When I think about ‘Minor Snow’, I think about being stuck in limbo before the holidays, in the backseat of a car on the way to the ice rink, no choice but to listen to the car radio,” Michigan @mmmichigannn says as she brings the 28th of the Orbitinging series.

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, she started DJing in 2021 with NYC collectives RAPRAVE and usbtlety. Since relocating to Taipei in November 2023, she has played venues such as 23 Music Room, Double Check, FINAL, Rabbithole, and Pawnshop. One of her mixes was selected by Philip Sherburne as one of Pitchfork’s Best DJ Mixes of 2023. Her inventive approach to mixing—drawing from film soundtracks, ambient textures, and electronic sonics—has become her distinct signature, continuously reshaping the dancefloor with unexpected turns.

When asked to share a track, Michigan shared a YouTube link of her namesake reurl.cc/ORE6L3, Michelle Kwan’s program to Tosca by Puccini. “Sometimes when I can’t sleep, I close my eyes and remember the feeling of skating, the sound of my blades grabbing and pushing the ice, closer then further, nearer then away, the weightless shift on my blades when I change edge. I like skating around in this empty arena. For one, I get to choose the music,” she adds, “This mix is for going dreamy, for being dramatic, for being alone.”

Michigan has been living a pretty spartan life on the outskirts of Taipei for the past six months, and will be spending December in Oslo. “I’m ecstatic to see snow again, to go skiing and Nordic skating, which has been a long time dream of mine,” she shared, “but also I’m looking forward to moving closer in February (hit me up) and being more social in 2026 .”

Orbitinging 28 - Michigan

As autumn and winter blur together in a rush, time seems to slip out of sight. Kaishandao @kaishandao brings the 29th Orbitinging series, representing “Major Snow”—something she suggests listening to while cooking, gardening, daydreaming… “catching elusive rays of sunshine, tending to your space,” she adds.

Kaishandao (开山刀, Mandarin for ‘machete’) is a Chengdu-based producer from Wellington, New Zealand. A talisman of the Chengdu music scene, Kaishandao is constantly in motion. Whether it’s mashing the buttons at Chengdu Community Radio (http://cdcr.live), touring strange bands with Kiwese (www.kiwese.co.nz), or clocking up hours front left — her infectious energy has culminated into a refreshing sound of her own — born in the moshpit, reared in the club.

Forged from the windswept hills of Pōneke, melded by the breakneck BPM of China, she produces a hard-hitting sound of complex origins and eccentric imperfections that chops a lost and found heritage into a playful mash-up of delirious dance music.

Her debut EP Homeland, released on vinyl via New Noise, marked her emergence on China’s club circuit, leading to a national tour. She has since released on Wisdom Teeth, Siamese Twins, Crater Records, and produced remixes for artists including WOMB and the fin.

Kaishandao is now heading back to Aotearoa, New Zealand, to visit friends and family over the (southern hemisphere) summer: “I’m excited to reconnect with loved ones and the beautiful whenua (land) I call home. I’m looking forward to playing at Twisted Frequency over New Year’s and reconnecting with the lovely people I met there last year,” she shared. She is also preparing to release more Kaishandao music and will be arranging DIY tours with several New Zealand artists through her label, Kiwese.

“The Winter Solstice carries a lot of moisture: misty cold air, the vapor of our breath, steam rising from hot food, fogged-up glass windows…” This is how Sanyo describes the Winter Solstice, as she brings the 30th mix of the Orbitinging series. “It’s suitable for listening at home, while taking a walk, or during your commute,” she adds.

Chengdu-based DJ Sanyo explores her vision of dance music through both her sets and the events she organized. She mentioned that while recording this mix and selecting tracks, she deliberately chose sounds and moods that felt close to her everyday winter experiences.

As Sanyo is not particularly occupied with new projects at the moment, this year-end release allows us to tune into her winter sensibilities through the mix—listening to it as an extension of her daily rhythms and perceptions.
