Look Busy is a collective of DJs with our roots firmly in collecting and mixing wonky records on belt drive turntables.  Between us we have over 60 years of experience looking busy behind the decks and counting.

You can find us playing across Scotland in various Clubs, Bars and Festivals as well as on podcasts or radio shows such as RhythmCast, Berlin Boombox, House Salad and Making Waves Underground.

Our Club Nights and Festival appearances have supported and booked DJs that include Dam Swindle, DJ Sneak, Dusky, Paul Woolford, George Fitzgerald, DJ Haus, Brawther, Robert Owens, Mella Dee, Slam, Horse Meat Disco, MK, Booka Shade, Chaos in the CBD, Darius Syrossian, Green Velvet, Purple Disco Machine, Basement Jaxx, John Digweed, James Zabeila, Palms Trax, Jamie Trench, Oli Furness and Ejeca. 

This project is our creative platform to celebrate and share our collective love for House Music, Funk, Soul, Disco and any oddity or curve ball we come across in-between.

A Chance To Dance returns with the first edition of February. We have been enjoying so much variety across the many shades of new deep house releases this month.

Starting soulfully, we enjoy some vocal goodness from Smthing smtime on the fantastic new Razor-N-Tape VA which accompanies other great records from 
Wajeed, KVRBVO & Black Chynese. Hitting with a more punchier & dubbier sound comes new ones from Melboure Drum Authority & Fouk.

Mallorca based ESUOH don't release that often, but when they do its always top notch. Hurlees Keep It Real EP displays that classic house sound the label is renowned for and we are here for it! Also included are double whammys from Demuja, a piano stabber from Saison and a little classic from John Billick.

Tune of the session for us though is handed to the new Ben Hauke release on Last Year At Marienbad with the EPs new teaser 'Watch Me Now'.

Joining us this week is a very good friend of ours. He's the first guest to appear across both of our radio shows having been on That Disco Groove back in 2021. Since then, T Sounds has refined his music into a wonderful blend of rolling and deep hypnotic grooves. He has poured the passion from his life experiences into a number of beautiful releases over the past few years. They have earned huge support, take Berry Picker for example, which is now on its approach to 200k listens having been premiered by house heavyweight Houseum. Over the past year he has released on TheBasement Discos, Rewind & Miura with chart support from Reece Johnson, Alex Moiss, Simplex Motive & Doorly. His guest mix is a great interpretation of deep house through his eyes, and with 23 (yes 23!) tracks in one hour, including some of his own productions, it creates plenty of ear raising moments! ish compilation series continues. For the second volume, we're going deep! Deep-ish.

Thru out the release history of Local Talk we've always enjoyed the deeper cuts and made sure there's plenty available. There's several that became big and got massive praise, like Atjazz 'Fox Tooth" Atjazz Galaxy Aart Dub..it is timeless, or Northern Reach by Fish Go Deep. That's the type of house music that gets played in submarines. You also have Kindimmer's "Shadow And Construction", a favorite among many fine producers like Disclosure and Juan Atkins to name a few.

There's also a few hidden gems - "Bitter Love" by The True Rebels which is Peter Oakden and our good friend Ricky Reid aka The James L'Estraunge Orchestra and 1/2 of Soul Renehades released many years ago. MVK by Esa & Mervin Granger is a blue print of deep house that has the Prescription sound written all over it. Plus there's plenty more, don't just dip the toe, dive in. Go deep.
