Sitting alongside fellow subdivisions 3rd Avenue and Crossfade Sounds, Future Avenue looks to provide a home for new and rising talent. With an ethos centred around progressive music and its surrounding derivatives, the label is a platform which gives up and coming artists a chance to showcase their music alongside established veterans as they carve out their own musical identity.

Second time around for Linkwood's delicious debut album, "System", which re-appears on vinyl a decade after it first hit record stores. The set has aged really well, with the Edinburgh producer's forays into Kraftwerkian electro ("Robot Parade", "Pumpernickel"), vocal nu-boogie (the Reggie Watts-voiced "Tears") and kaleidoscopic electrofunk ("Falling") sounding particularly on-trend. Of course, there's plenty more to set the pulse racing elsewhere across the LP, from the bustling, Chicago deep house jack of "Electricity", to the rhythmic ambient bliss of loved-up closing cut "Nectarine". It is, then, an album that's not only stood the test of time, but also boasts some genuinely stunning, club-ready moments.

Danish producer and pianist, Uffe makes his On The Corner debut, with "Free House", a killer slice of off-kilter dancefloor madness. Taken from the forthcoming 'Door the Cosmos - Dancefoor Sampler', an 8-track compilation of club-centric but very unpredictable bangers. 

Having built a healthy reputation for producing increasingly jazzed-up and gnarly house, across labels such as Tartelet, Pets, Delusions of Grandeur and Bluberry, Pete OtC finally tracked him down back home in Denmark and managed to prise this gem from him.

On the Corner Records was awarded ‘Label of the Year’ at the Worldwide Awards 2018. OtC is a story of artists and scenes that goes way beyond being a record label. DJ, label owner Pete On the Corner has created a home for innovative, border-crossing, genre-pushing artists. The OtC vision is to bring music to the world that is knocking at the ‘Door To The Cosmos’. The label is an inimitable mixture of Miles Davis ‘call it what you want’ attitude, Sun Ra’s Afro Futurism and the ecstatic soul lifting influence of black music on electronic dance music.   

On ‘Door To The Cosmos – Dancefloor Sampler’ Pete has curated a volume of cuts from present and future label family. This first in the series, is not just knocking at the door but giving it a kick! It’s club music referencing the source, be it Detroit, or UK bass culture combined with future sounds rising from cosmopolitan hotbeds of sonic heat. On this maxi EP Venezuela meets India via New York, the street sound of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania pulses through UK Jungle. Undergrounds pushing the dance, breaking borders and genre alike. Rhythms from the ancestors channelled for future times.

Day 22: Kavya & Pranay Parti - Little Lie [3:05]

We’re excited to present a recording of Joe Boy's opening set at regional NYE event Meningie Mirage III - a party held across New Years in the open fields of the Coorong.

The two-day mirage included DJ’s, live bands, workshops and many beaming faces from both South Australia and afar. The doof sought to celebrate not only the entry into a new year, but also the voices, stories, talents and ideas people brought to the table. The year 2020 proved especially difficult for participating in community and art-orientated spaces, and even just losing yourself in a dance. Under the guise of local and interstate musical offerings - burrowing out across the hot blue skies of the South Australian rural landscape - the mirage provided a necessary avail.
