A re-amplification of the piece Kokytos for organ by Daniel Glaus.

“Kokytos” is part of a series of organ improvisations that were recorded with a wide range of microphones placed both inside and around the instrument. This assignment will build on Glaus’ work and take it a step further.  

The Assignement:  
Re-amplify the recording, or elements of it, by playing “Kokytos” back over a loudspeaker. Use the pool of sounds resulting from the step before and compose a piece of your own, perhaps adding further sonic treatment.  

I stayed with the original piece, no further compositions.  

But I emphasized and re-amplfied the Kokytos, taking into account these five semantic axis:
- the pipe as long resonant space (speaker to a cardboard-pipe)
- the wind (speaker near to a ventilator)
- the air (speaker in distance to microphone)
- the transcendent (dry signal through a eg&g 5208 Lock-in-Filter, no reference-signal)
- the ear (speaker through the drum of my drum kit)

Microtonal, Xenharmonic, electronica/Dub/Ambient, Preferring consonance to dissonance.

Based in Kernow ( Cornwall ) For me its the music and the connections it makes. Expect some genre bending electronic music - Breaking the grid both vertically and horizontally but attempting to still be listenable.

I like to synthesise most things and I prefer uncompressed mixes and masters. If its quiet its probably meant to be a lullaby.
