Asymmetric chief Inigo Kennedy returns to his label with a five track EP 'Quartz Dust'.

'Motor City' makes no bones about its inspirations; timeless and Asymmetric to the bone with pure emotion set against machine sounds. Second track, 'Atomic Weight' is a heavier hitter; a solid rhythmic base layered with an almost malevolent sounding string section, fading in and out from some alien realm. Next up is 'Tundra', which delivers more of that dystopian edginess against a scything beat, before title track 'Quartz Dust' exercises its acid muscles, electro-like beat and shards of swirling melody. Closing the EP is 'Deuteranopia' which pulses along like the soundtrack to some other other-worldly place.

It's our great pleasure to welcome Spanish duo NX1 back onto the label following their Earwiggle debut in 2019. Much has changed in the world since then but in the world of NX1, Samot and Surit's commitment to tense sonic combat remains resolute. The "Shaked Ear" EP is some of their most accomplished work to date, and a fresh follow-up to their recent debut album on Nexe Records. Raw acid lines, earth-shaking bleeps, fizzing distortion, murky vocals and a melange of sweeping kick patterns are just some of the key ingredients on display over this crushing 5-tracker. Once again finding a unique place within hard-edged rhythmic techno and industrial, with an atmosphere all of its own, NX1 are back to shake the dancefloor to its core. Comes on black marbled vinyl in a stickered outer sleeve.

Epic synths are layered over a foundation of kick and rolling bass, tying the drums together through the rim. My aim was to create a groove that’s simple to listen to, allowing the focus to shift more toward the progression of the main sound element, a build-up of energy that unfolds over time.

If I had to associate this EP with an experience, I’d imagine it as a plane ride: during takeoff, you feel the force pinning you to your seat until the moment the plane lifts off and begins to climb… Up in the air, you feel light, weightless, until the descent begins. Here comes the drop: the wheels touch the runway.

Norman Nodge is a staple of the world's techno scene. His releases via MDR have always impressed as as a resident of Berghain, he's been causing a frenzy in the world's most respected club for over a decade.

His releases via Ostgut Ton, including his 'Berghain 06' mix, are a good indication of what to expect when he plays and also act as a deep dive into his production psyche. 

Following a seven-year hiatus from releasing new music via the label, Nodge returns with the amazing 'Embodiment' EP and we've got the premiere. 

He might have been away for a bit but Nodge sure knows how to return in style. Check it.

Inigo Kennedy is a pioneering and respected techno and electronic music producer and DJ. Since early on he experimented with electronics and technology and immersed himself in the airwaves, music stores and scenes of London, Manchester and beyond. From there has evolved his distinctive sound and attitude to music making and performance - entertaining accidents, taking risks and steadfastly following his heart rather than the herd.

He is well known for always bringing technical and creative originality and skill to his work - not least to his own innovative label Asymmetric which freely criss-crossed the electronic music landscape.

His DJ schedule has taken him all over the globe where he consistently plays energetic and emotionally-charged sets - often throwing in curve-balls or nodding to classic tracks that have shaped his own musical arc.

He has been responsible for a large and diverse back catalogue of releases and remixes on a number of labels around the world and has worked under a number of aliases such as Reducer and Tomito Satori. His discography stretches to well over 100 releases on vinyl, CD and digitally on established, if not seminal, labels such as Missile, Semantica, Stroboscopic Artefacts and current home, Token.

He is now a keystone of the Token label, having been responsible for its first release in 2007 and dozens of releases, remixes and collaborations since. He has planted seeds along the label's history with bold, distinctive and memorable tracks like 'Arcing', 'Cathedral', 'Obsidian', 'Plaintive', 'Voyager' and 'Tornado'. His critically acclaimed LP 'Vaudeville' released in 2014 perfectly captured his uniquely evocative sound and attitude.

Fast forward to 2018 and the culmination of his next steps with a powerful follow-up LP 'Strata' for Token. As the title of the tenth release on the label put it, onwards and wrongwards!
