After a couple of tracks on compilations, LAZA joins INI Movement for the release of his first solo EP, 'Elements', a two-track EP that is exemplary for his warm, melodic sound.

Chock-full of 808 sounds and complemented with a good share of nasty synths, the track “Ferrum” refers to this track's strong and resilient sound. The characteristic chords and synths, which you'll hear more often in his music as well as his own vocals, really give it that distinctive LAZA-sound.

“Sunburst” takes you on a more abstract journey through time and space and draws you straight into the sun. Mystic chords and dancing bass lines are once again met with ever captivating drums.

About LAZA:
LAZA is a Producer/DJ hailing from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Triggered by warm harmonies, melodies and rhythms found all over the musical spectrum, he developed a strong interest in music from a young age. Initially discovering his love for music behind the drums, he soon took an interest in sampling and beat-making when jazz and hip hop came into play. Through DJing later on, his musical style started to take a more electronic direction.

Nowadays, a sincere and experimental sound defines LAZA's music. It is oriented around Electronic Music and draws inspiration from disco, funk and jazz.

His first release, 'Revelations', was part of the 'Modern Intimacy' compilation on Carista's acclaimed United Identities imprint. The journey continued with 'WTBWH”, released by Darker Than Wax as part of their 'BODYCLOCK Vol.2' compilation, curated by Dean Chew. His first solo project will be released on INI Movement in 2022.

INSULA • noun • /ˌɪn.sjəˈlæ/
 Latin term meaning island.

An avatar that uses Indo-Oceanic rituals to bring different periods together as well as the rhythms of the north of the world to promote a Maloya-Afro-Futurist concept.

Through this pseudonym, Mickael Gravina takes his musical and sonic origins and uses them as an island (a starter, a nucleus) connected to the cosmos for our next release on Babani Records.

Concocted on the Red Island, we bring you the first two tracks "BONDIÉ MALOUBARY" and "KABARY", leading to his debut album "TRMBA" in December. The first one relating to a god from Madagascar and the latter to a ceremony.

INSULA, a multidisciplinary artist from Reunion Island, is interested in electronic music, or more specifically, in the "concrete music" that defines the sounds. This radically impresses itself on the listener. He comes face to face with a monster that lives by its own rules and norms, without making any concessions. Music is fascinating and it is capable of carrying within it a relationship to the world, something otherwise unspeakable.

His attempt at creating music is a kind of monster that, in truth, speaks to the globalised times we live in, a fusion of traditional and contemporary elements set to electronic and maloya music. It goes without saying that the mythology of the Indo-Oceanic, Malagasy, African, and many others nourish his creative production using a variety of instruments (Mauritians, Reunionese, Indians, Malagasy, and Creoles).

INSULA, this island where genders, races and cultures converge.

The idea of the 13 Mooncycle Mix is based on the natural time phenomenon. Within the system of natural time, it takes the moon 28 days to orbit the Earth; it makes this orbit 13 times each year. Each of the 13 moons possess unique characteristics, the purpose of then of the 13 Mooncycle Mix is to use each moon as an inspiration. Come each 28th day, INI invites an artist to curate a mix for the new moon, giving them total creative freedom to interpret, signal or share whatever they so desire to as a homage to uniqueness of each moon.

For our 3rd edition of the 13 Moon Mix, we are pleased to have the dynamic duo, Strange Boutique, take us on a sonic trip. Do put on your intergalactic space suit, for ignition sequence is about to start. As the moon rises, the needle drops, our interstellar music voyage begins. Strange Boutique, in putting together this mix drew inspiration from the sense of rebirth, ever so present around us. In spur of inspiration, the duo has stitched together a peculiar 48-minute piece. In the mix, astro-coptic liturgy is interwoven with persisting chugging beats, mechanized rhythms is paired with lush syths, sounds of distant stars and drones compliment neo-Arabic soul – the familiar and unfamiliar are fused. Resulting from this fusion, just like the birth of a star from the vast stellar gases and molecular clouds, we emerge with an awaken sense of ourselves

The Oriental Brothers International Band of Nigeria is a popular Igbo highlife boy band from Nigeria [based in Owerri] for several decades, known for their powerful lyrics (whether it be of proverbs, or specials being dedicated to special people in the country of Nigeria), and deft instrumental work (whether of the lead guitar, or the conga man's professional play of the congas in their break sections of songs) with their unique style of highlife. The Original Oriental Brothers International consisted of five members; Godwin "Kabaka" Opara [leader of the band, and rhythm guitarist], Chief Christogonus "Dr. Sir Warrior" Ezewuiro Obinna [vocalist, also know asUltimate Dr. Sir Warrior from 1993-'96], Ferdinand "DanSatch" Chukwuemeka Opara [Founder, lead guitarist, bass player till 1976 when self-titled album, featuring song "Murtala Mohammed," released], Livinus Akwịla (spelt "Aquila" in English) Alaribe [conga player and maraca player], and finally, Fred "Ichita" Ahumaraeze [drummer]. Later members came at the time of the band being, such as Charles Boumda, Aloysius (Aloy) Anyanwu, and Tony Awoma [who was apart of the band with Satch in the beginning before the band formed, but left because he could not stay in one place].
