About Don Plok

Don Plok is a producer, DJ, and percussionist based in Buenos Aires with over 13 years of activity. He mixes contemporary rhythms with traditional African patterns; Classic Vinyl Samples, and Synthesizers.His inﬂuences varied from Latin American Folk, Dub, Electronic Music, and the Cumbias of his teenage years.

Founder and resident of Guateque Soundz, since 2010- with which he has enveloped countless artists like La Delio Valdez, Uji, and La Dame Blanche. In 2018 he also co-founded Dunumba Soundsystem.

During the last years, he toured through Latin America and Europe at festivals such as Fusion (Germany), Goulash Disko (Kroatien), and Movimientos (UK), among others.

He collaborated with artists such as Chancha Vía Circuito, Martha Van Straaten, Sara Hebe, Tinariwen, Dj Peligro, Silverio, and Rafael...  more

I’ll set the first hour retty laidback selection from my records with some soulful gems from around the globe with tracks from Tete De Bahia, Hamid El Shari & Piero Umiliani to name a few. By the end of my hour I’ll top it off with some hiphop tracks and beats that’s been in my system the last couple weeks.

Dogbite

Dogbite is a multi-facetted artist, DJ & b-boy based in Gothenburg, Sweden born in 1991. His journey into music started early, mainly through his big interest in breaking. In 2020, Dogbite teamed up with fellow music-colleague Chad Bogus and formed a hiphop-duo named Dogbite & Chad Bogus. Since then they have released 5 solid EP’s through their label Cult Classics/Shelta Records where their home-made productions of soul & jazz inspired beats complements their sharp ways with the pen and delivery, making them a established name in the underground hiphop scene in Sweden. The passion for breaking haven’t yet stopped for Dogbite as he now holds the title for the Swedish breaking championship 5 times and just recently last year.

For this guest-mix on Crates & Waves he provides a solid selection from his crates, taking us on a journey through 12 inches & 45’s from around the globe and topping it off with beats and bars by some legends from the Detroit & Oxnard hiphop scene.
