After releasing SOUL FICTION in May 2023! Cosmo Klein & The Campers will release a Soul Fiction Remix album with remix-management by Berlin based DJ Daniel W. Best of Best's Friends Music.

In the past the Cosmo Klein from Berlin has dedicated himself to different genres of music such as Pop, House Music, Soul, Jazz & Funk. Numerous hits like "Beautiful Lie", "Feel Alive", "All I ever need" or the Duet with German singer Maya Saban have made Cosmo Klein one of the few internationally successful music exports from Germany.

​Being a huge fan of camping vans, Cosmo recorded some of the best Jazz musicians in the game like Cory Wong from Vulfpeck, Benny Greb, Hanno Busch, Claus Fischer, Peter Weniger, Jakob Manz, Felix Lehrmann, Jost Nickel and yes, many more in his 1988 Hymer Camper Studio.

​„I just don´t like studios. As a child I always wanted to play outside and I guess it´s still the same way. I just can´t stand to sit in front of a computer and go to the same workspace everyday. I can´t see anything inspirational about that. Recording musicians in different sceneries all around Germany was beautiful and the fact that I stick to the same instrumentation on every track glues the pieces together. Nicola Cruz is releasing the remixed version of his critically acclaimed 2015 album, Prender el Alma.  It will be released on June 10th on ZZK Records, and features remixes by 12 artists including label-mates History of Colour (El Buho & Barrio Lindo), Chancha Via Circuito, and sister label-mate EVHA.  

Inspired by electronic music techniques and local Andean music and culture, Cruz created the original sounds in Prender el Alma layer by layer, instrument by instrument, drum by drum.  A cast of eclectic Latin American artists seamlessly pick up where Nicola left off, adding their unique flavor to each individual track.

For the A-Side, the duo encapsulate the energy that has made the previous records in the series so memorable; this time by taking the cosmic sounds of a Space Disco favourite and reconstructing it into a punchy, euphoric, electronic symphony.

The B-Side sees the BPM's drop and the concepts become more left-of-centre. The B1, a cut-up UK Grunge head nodder, features gritty guitars, a sludgy bassline and a pulsating synth lead. Whilst on the B2, a well-loved Italo essential is reincarnated as a dramatic piece of sequenced bliss.

First ever official reissue of Zamba Zamba by Peruvian band Sangre Joven! Originally released in 1975 by MAG (Lima | Peru) the 7inch vinyl is hardly available and a rare latin gem. Any information about Sangre Joven is just as rare as the vinyl: there is in fact nothing about the band to be found on the internet.

Nevertheless, with a little help by a peruvian friend we got some details: "Zamba Zamba" is a peruvian version of the track "Samba Samba" by Colombian brothers Elkin & Nelson, who moved to Spain in the 70s. The band Sangre Joven consists of musicians from the famous Peruvian group Nil's Jazz Ensemble of jazz musician, composer and arranger Nilo Espinosa. When their musical direction changed, they switched their name to Sangre Joven and released a funky & discoid album and one single on the Peruvian label MAG in 1975. Both original pressings are very difficult to find nowadays, so we're more than happy to release this on Matasuna Records! The track was restored from the reel to reel master tapes and also got a new mastering by Carvery (London).

In addition to the original Zamba Zamba version, the DJ & producer Voodoocuts contributed a superb edit to this 7inch and both tracks spread a sunny Afro-Latin vibe that catches you immediately. While the original is perfect for a relaxed set on the beach, the Voodoocuts' Edit is a real killer tune for the dancefloor. The funky acoustic guitar perfectly harmonized with the electric piano and the super sweet vocals on the percussive breaks will really heat you up! As always: a seven inch not to be missed!
