Hi there, this one isn’t one of our usual first-take/one-take recordings during a jam session; we did actually spend a bit of time on this one! It is a live take though, no overdubs, except for the synths that I added after.

Jim Sanders is on the drums, Charlie Villiers and Dave Toolan are on the guitars, I’m on the bass and singing (and I wrote it).

Look out for Charlie’s sublime solo 🤩 one of my personal favourites of his!

SUPER - MAGNETIC

Música para el alma se desarrolla como proyecto de composición e interpretación musical en el contexto terapéutico de las residencias para personas mayores en España.

Inicialmente interpretábamos música clásica de cámara al clarinete (con acompañamiento de piano grabado): Mozart, Brahms, Schumann, Schubert, Saint-Saëns, Finzi, etc.

De forma espontánea comencé a componer música que en mi imaginación desearía escuchar teniendo en cuente el estado de molestia, dolor y cansancio asociado a la etapa final de nuestra encarnación.

Una música que nos llevase (a través de la escucha) hacía un mundo de sonidos simples, lentos, envolventes y amorosos, transparentes y calmantes.

Gracias a la colaboración fundamental con la artista Ana Márcia Varela y al sucesivo apoyo y sintonía con diversos equipos de terapeutas de algunas grandes residencias públicas de la Comunidad de Madrid, hemos decidido ofrecer a los residentes música compuesta ad-hoc para ellos.

Esta primera grabación ofrece un quinto del repertorio creado para MÚSICA PARA EL ALMA.
