Ink Project is Brighton-based producer Jez Lloyd’s collaborative project with vocalists Coreysan, FiFi Rong, Yazmyn Hendrix and Melanie Dymond - experimenting with various styles from song-based electronic/soul, future dub, broken beat, leftfield pop, house/techno, down-tempo and world music.

In December 2011, his debut album ‘Inside The Sun’ with remixes from Gang Colours (Brownswood) and Memotone (Black Acre) marked the start of the Blind Colour label. The album featured heavily across the blogosphere and gained radioplay from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Nemone, Don Letts, NME Radio, Red Bull Music Academy and The British Council’s Selector Show.

In August 2012, Ink Project’s unique cover and video of the Blondie classic ‘Rapture’ received over 25,000 Youtube views, before being followed by single’s ‘Keep Passing By’ and ‘Lost At Sea’.

In 2015, ‘Runaway Ritual’ was released, with remixes from Submotion Orchestra’s Ruckspin (Ninja Tune/Counter), Nate Connelly (Blind Colour) and Seahawks (Lo Recordings) before second album ‘Satellite On’ in 2016 - praised by the likes of BBC 6 Music’s Don Letts and Lauren Laverne amongst others.

Ink Project’s third album is scheduled for release in late 2020 and their current live show features an intoxicating, modern mix of live beats, bass, keyboard, fx, dub siren, theremin, DJying alongside various guest vocal appearances.

Since 2012, the collective have gigged across Europe to play at the likes of the Sonar Festival (Barcelona/Spain), the Jazz Refound Festival (Milan/Italy) the One Love Festival (Kent/UK), and landed UK tour support slots with the likes of iBibio Sound Machine (Soundway Records), Sorceress (New Zealand) and the legendary Dreadzone (Virgin/Dubwiser).

When not recording or playing live, Jez runs the Blind Colour label, does occasional sound design for film and & tv and DJs around the world, having supported the likes of Richie Hawtin, Derrick Carter, Joey Beltram and Ben UFO in the past, playing his own brand of ‘alien funk’.

Another great back to back session with Malte aka @@caldera-caldera, we always find a way to make things flow effortlessly and for our music to gel into an enjoyable adventure through electronic sounds, I really like his taste in music and his new EP on @nummer is killer - definitely one to check! (I’ll be stocking at Temple of Vinyl).

Ink Project - Grooves Beyond The Cosmos - DJ Mix - December 2023

Led by vocalist Jerry Clavier (Tru-Thoughts, J-Felix, Laroye), the self-titled debut EP from the ‘Gyratory Allstars’ is an impressive 5-track offering from one of the UK’s finest new funk, soul and acid jazz collectives.

Fresh off-the-back of high-profile festival appearances this summer, the EP will be self-released by the band on 14th October. Showcasing Clavier’s warm, soulful vocals, he is accompanied by a melting-pot of seasoned musicians, providing a wide palette of classic and contemporary influences which is evident from their uplifting and positive live performances.

The EP closes with the Gyratorys’ unique version of Buffalo Springfield’s classic ‘For What It’s Worth’, and will be available to stream and buy via all of the usual places online.

2025 live shows are expected to be announced next year and the band are currently taking bookings.
