Since the late 1980’s rave culture has played a large role in the development of UK electronic dance music, and has spurred itself on by standing against the socio-political issues at the time, such as the constraining laws, which outlawed raves and with the help of the press, criminalised the behaviour of organisers and attendees. 'Raveolution' hopes to explore that development in the form of a conceptual album, highlighting the styles and genres that made up the rave scene in a chronological order, from its early beginnings to the contemporary rave scene of today. To ensure an accurate depiction of the musical styles of rave music, similar production techniques and original equipment will be used where possible. Alongside this, illustrations depicting the cultural influences from the scene will accompany the music, creating clear imagery of the history of rave, and charting its evolution through time.
