The unused word made a beautiful cover version of "Trans fatty acid". Originally released by Lamb in 1996 (album: "Lamb"), She first heard this tune in the Kruder & Dorfmeister version on "The K&D Sessions" (1998). The song was originally written by Andy John Barlow and Louise Ann Rhodes.

For Tor, a long look in the mirror and an eagerness to fully blossom as an artist has led to his next body of work, Blue Book, which will soon take up precious space on Emancipator’s estimable Loci Records back catalog. “Myth” is a musical chapter that tells a tale of both then and now, centered on a soul-stirring guitar riff that gradually flows into languid layers and hushing atmospherics drifting beneath a vocal sample that plays out like a story you’d never want to end.

To celebrate the 5th birthday of Good Netlabels, a site devoted to the promotion of noteworthy endevours within the underground scene, we have decided to release a new album in the GNs Compilation series. It is the third project in the series, but for the first time ever the contributions have been selected in the course of a contest. Over the last three months we have collected entries that would then undergo a careful selection. In order to make the process as fair and unbiased as possible, music journalists, visual artists as well as musicians have been asked to make the selection.
This newest part of the GNs Compilation series, entitled Empty Shadows, is an international project that marks a shift in the approach to and the preparation of the compilation. While Jazzy Puzzle and Break Asymmetry were collections of recordings created specifically for these compilations by artists invited to these projects, this time it is Good Netlabels readers that contributed to the compilation, by the same token showcasing the underground scene.
Once again the author of the cover is Justyna Bielecka. All translations have been done by Ola Górska, and the sound and mastering have been done by Cuefx.

In everything, there is but one fundamental design: to relieve the chaos of operation. The more something is used, the more useless it appears to be. The more something is studied, examined, heard, analyzed, the less enthusiastic a reception it garners from every corner. Yet this challenge implies forethought: if something is perpetually remade and remanipulated, what’s the point of trying to create anything at all? If all that is “created” is based on the old, how can it remain new enough to capture the attention of a single soul, let alone the legions necessary to make something provocative? Into this postmodern, shrunken worldview, and viewing the array of instrumental beat artists from askance, comes Glen Porter. It oscillates between a learned minimalism and an earnest romantic attack. Shards of sensual restraint decorate a slow, cryptic soundscape. Hysterical, careening beats float on dormant sound-images. The pinnacle aches to be achieved, everywhere breathing. In an instant, the age-old question of age itself is answered: chaos gives birth to the uplifted. The legions await.
