2015 will see German techno mainstay Stephan Bodzin ready to unleash his next full-length musical vision on the world. Entitled “Powers of Ten”, the 10-track album will land in June 2015 on his own Herzblut Recordings and provides another great insight into the melodically rich muscle mind of this modern great.
Says Stephan Bodzin of the LP: “Powers of Ten has been with me all my life and is named after a book that has been my background hiss, its confusing truth is my only real faith and its infinity shows me its finiteness. The album is about harmonies, melodies, rhythms. It is an homage to Bob Moog, full of techno beats and sounds and space and party and ecstasy and dancing and listening, and crying and feeling. It is a journey, a philosophy of life, a view of the world, a vague perception. It is my wife, my children, my family, my friends, my passion, my enemy, my greatest fulfillment, my fear, my deepest peace, my power, all my love.”
As such, this album is hugely personal and is filled with cerebral messages and well thought out concepts. All this shines through and makes it an all the more engaging listen from start to finish. Kicking off with the spine tingling chords and louche beats of ‘Singularity’ cuts like ‘Lila’ then continue to confirm that Stephan Bodzin has a classical understanding of melody that is way beyond your average.
‘Blue Giant’, ‘Wir’ and ‘Ix’ all manage to be uplifting and thoughtful at the same time as driven and groovy, whilst ‘Birth’ comes on with a hymnal high note, long tailed pads and subtly shifting beats. The ghostly grooves of ‘Zulu’ mark a majestic mid point to the album, which then continues to seduce with spiritual synths and more beautiful melodies on cuts like ‘Odyssee’ as well as the album’s standout title track.
Unfolding coherently and in soothing fashion, this album once again proves that few producers in the modern world have a knack for melody and an ear for sonic ingenuity quite like Stephan Bodzin.

True to our word, when we say we are going to do something... we do it. So, a little earlier in the year, when we teased you with a trippy Jamie Stevens remix on the Mr. Tea EP, and said there was more of him coming out on Crossfrontier Audio sometime soon... well, we weren't lying, here it is: the Out of Hiding EP comes bursting onto the scene. 
Jamie Stevens is an experienced producer and DJ, who is no stranger to quality output on well known labels like Bedrock, Lost & Found and microCastle, throughout his colourful global career, he's been known to rock the spot and give his all to music; it's a pleasure to put out his debut for us. The Out of Hiding EP is a beaut little showcase of the latter and a great introduction to his continued evolution in music.  
You might have guessed from his dabblings on the well received Circles in the Sky, and from his dedication of years in the industry, but Jamie Stevens doesn't mess around; a true professional giving us some serious grooves. His CFA debut EP doesn't miss the mark either, with two original works: the fast-action, high octane self-titled single in Out of Hiding, and the formidably rhythmic Traces, both give a powerful dash of momentum to any set, and both maintain the standards of how Jamie sets the bar. 
Finally, tippling the honey out the jar for another weapon of a remix on their catalogue is the dastardly duo... Slow Hearts. Certainly in their element right now, track after track, remix after remix, as they continue to gain headway and take their sounds across the world. On Out of Hiding they've gone the extra mile, throwing in the punches and kicks to add their own personal touch, and it's just one more reason why you should love them as much as we do.
Moving into the second half of the year, as we continue to unfold more releases and bring those moments to the dance-floor, stay tuned for more eventful happenings... Because there is plenty more in store.

Italian producer Veerus returns to Kittball with a moody three track release titled ‘Organum’ this June.

A regular name within Kittball’s established discography, alongside his partner Maxie Devine, Veerus has released two full EPs on the label as well as appeared on two instalments of Kittball Konspiracy. His wide remit of work has also seen numerous releases on the likes of Suara, Material, Yoshitoshi Recordings and Stereo Productions, whilst as a touring artist he’s commanded crowds from booths throughout Ibiza, Miami, Barcelona and Verona. 

‘Organum’ sees Veerus move towards a darker direction, combining moody stabs with ominous atmospherics for a dusky roller produced with the dancefloor in mind. Maintaining a euphoric aura throughout, ‘Arp’ earns its names from its raucous arpeggios that generate a heightening suspense whilst subtle notes operate in the background, before ‘Mummy’ concludes the package with tantalising melodies and powerful synths.

About the Release : 

2016 was quite a big year for Connaisseur as we released some of our strongest tracks in a while. Next to Human Machine's "146" and "Connaisseur" by Peter Pardeike and Olderic, Peter's outstanding "Love Supreme" dominated last year's summer. The arp driven banger with the catchy "Love Supreme" vocoder is definitely one of the most important tunes we ever realised on Connaisseur, reason enough for us to drop a package of remixes now, one year later.

We are very happy that every remixer did an amazing job and that the results turned out super diverse.

The first interpretation is by the man behind the imprints Objectivity and These Eyes: Andre Hommen. The artist and producer based close to Cologne has brought the track right into the peaktime. We promise, you will never forget this bassline!

The second remix is by the highly talented dutch artist Love Over Entropy, who stayed close to the elements of the original, but has brought them into a completely new setting. Sunrise calling!

The third and last remix is by south German Krautelectro maestro Fred & Luna, already known for his work for the Innervisions crew. This interpretation is a heartwarming synth journey we instantly fell in love with.

"On the next installment of Karakter Records, the label spotlights a truly unique geographic combination where Brazil meets Russia with a Portuguese-Indian blend. Art in Motion and Panorama Channel met in Russia a little over two years ago, sparking the connection that eventually led up to this unique release. “The Last Adventure of Voodoo Houngan” is as fitting a name as ever; already feeding the imagination while the soundtrack fills in the last blanks. The hypnotic rhythms, whispers and pads slowly explain how the dark omen influenced the fate that befell upon Houngan, grasping for a last method to give his final sacrifice a purpose. Or perhaps you tell a different story with that you hear?

Both Art in Motion and Panorama Channel have already earned their spurs as pioneers of the deep, rhythmic and emotional blend of house music. Brazilian producer Vicente Amadeo has seen his earlier works being released on NYC-based Stranjjur and Mother recordings (and earning plays by all the big diggers, such as Lee Burridge and Laurent Garnier), while the Panorama Channel guys have made a steady rise in recent years with their two EP’s on Biologic Records, grasping the attention of for instance Âme and Abstraxion.

Lastly, we are honored that Lisbon based @Switchdance makes his return on Karakter with a remix based around grooving drums, delivering the deepest piece of this release.

Chapter 24's latest EP comes from Newcastle producer and DJ Jobe, who has released on labels such as Connaisseur, Steyoyoke, Akbal and, of course, London based label Chapter 24. In the history of latter JOBE is responsible for one of the most favorited and successful tracks, Aurora, so undoubtedly the label bosses Marcus and Sam welcome JOBE back with open arms and most important with a sophisticated and tribal-influenced 4 tracker called 'Changes' - probably re-writing the label's formula of success. The EP's opening track 'Rafari' is arranged around an African vocal but leaves the 'world music path' with the sound design of the track's instrumental approach. JOBE focuses on a  lead-synth that accepted the challenge of bringing two different musical approaches together and leads the track skillfully into a more techno direction.

JOBE's EP 'Changes' will be out November 10th, 2017 on Chapter 24.

Next up on Man Power's Me Me Me label is a 12" by "Forriner" aka Lee Forster and Oli Worriner. Man Power made music together with Lee for years (alongside Mick Rolfe) as Last Waltz. Lee also worked as Lizards with James Hadfield (James released solo for Me Me Me 02). Oli Worriner is a talented young northerner who’s already making a great name for his solo output, both under his own name and his Traela "Alias", as well his label. The originals are a bright mix of melodically analogue left leaning house, while the remixes zero-in on a punchier dancefloor vibe, with an epic version Goodnight, as well a more heads down Disco Dub. ​Italian native Dema, the UK's Paride Saraceni have joined forces on a blistering two-track EP, which is set for an upcoming release on Redrum Music. For their 'Betrayal' original, Dema, Saraceni and collaborator Frank Sonic have enlisted the help of leading techno maven Nicole Moudaber. The original's ominous tones fit right into Moudaber's capable production abilities and remix world. Her version powers up in a subdued and wicked tone, drawing in listeners more and more with every new kick.

Maybe it’s a sign of the musical times, or a shift in some artist’s creative ideology, but, interestingly, it seems that the strength of the numerous collaborative studio partnerships out there seem to be growing and growing. So, as yet another exceptional year of electronic music draws to a close, it seems fitting that the combined talents of Sahar Z & Stelios Vassiloudis should be joined together in a finale release for Bedrock Records in 2017.

Athenian DJ/Producer Stelios Vassiloudis is a Bedrock regular whose diverse musical palette always sees him create enthralling, highly memorable tracks. Having recently returned to the studio after an extended musical hiatus, his solo releases throughout 2017 have been exceptional, further establishing him as one of the scene’s finest melodic masters. In addition, his recent tag team with Germany’s Nils Nuernberg saw them create an exceptional EP on Steve Bug’s Poker Flat label, as well as a highlight track on the recent ‘Bedrock - Frequencies’ album.

Sahar Z has been at the heart of Tel Aviv's electronic music culture for the past 20 years. A masterful DJ and influential proponent of the art of music programming, where each and every show is an unforgettable journey, Sahar’s pedigree as a collaborative kingpin has been previously established through his excellent projects with Guy Mantzur, Navar (both on Lost & Found) and Chicola (Microcastle). So, its no wonder that his new project with Stelios marks this duo as a creative force to be reckoned with.
The richly imaginative ‘Nagasaki’ mischievously builds anticipation in clever, intricately arranged steps, as its low-slung, rhythmically infectious groove evolves with the addition of perfectly positioned melodic motifs throughout. In contrast, crisp, crunchy beats form the basis of ‘Osaka’ as it grows into a more energetic percussive workout. Layers of atmospheric excellence and teasing synth stabs give the track an emotive edge, with a swirling, deeply delicious energy. In their own distinctly different ways, both tracks form an irresistible masterclass in subtle genius.

Having been mutual admirers of each other’s work over the last few years, Sahar and Stelios finally established creative contact in 2017 when Stelios released his ‘Amnesia/Saturday Sky’ EP on the fledgling Armadillo Records (which Sahar co-runs with Guy J).

“I think it’s quite common for modern DJ/Producers to get stuck in the proverbial rut and seek out collaborative experiences with other artists that can enhance or invigorate their production process and that was exactly what happened in this case.” – Stelios Vassiloudis

Evolving from a starting point where Sahar shared two unfinished tracks that he (correctly) thought Stelios would be really into and able to add his unique touch the creative process. They ended up stripping things back and exchanging ideas back-and-forth over the course of a 3-month period, resulting in the masterful ‘Nagasaki’ and ‘Osaka’.

“When we signed his amazing release to Armadillo, I decided to contact Stelios to share my feeling about his music and we took it from there. It was like we’d known each other for years and I wish we had more down-to-earth people like him in the industry.” – Sahar Z

This exciting new duo is currently working on more tracks and exploring the possibility of doing some touring together in the near future, so their collaboration might well transcend studio productions in 2018.

Success in the modern era seems to come from a knowledge of the scene you are in, savvy business sense and artists on your label with the same level of passion as your own. Sudbeat very much typifies that dynamic and label returnee Navid Mehr is proof that good things come to those who work for it. 

As with his previous release, 'Be the Sun' is cinematic prog at its most pure: mind music of the highest order.

Both tracks feature Mehr’s trademark warm, summery groove with expertly placed melodic touches, while remaining unique and purposeful. 
'Be the Sun' starts with a solid yet uncomplicated percussive arrangement, before bass notes, twinkling arps and heavenly pads vie for attention as the track meanders towards its climactic conclusion. 
More visceral but no less musically rich, ‘Spiral' on the flip side builds with every subtle layer Mehr adds.

"This summer Dunkelheit is happy to introduce a new VA: 
'Erste Woche Am Strand' which translates to 'first week at the beach'. 
Dunkelheit invites you to embark on a symphonic journey that will leave you stranded on the beach for days. The euphoria emitted from WAS001 equates to one of sand running between your feet and the wind blowing through your hair. 
WAS001 takes Dunkelheit into a leap of variety sounds that emits a surreal groove accompanied with a touch of ethereal taste 

Starting off with HRRSN & Talking Machines' congruent tracks. Both artists emphasise an out of body experience that takes the listener on an emotional trip through the the celestial galaxies with a deepening melody along with a bouncy high frequency through theirs tracks 'Picking Up Where I left' & 'Equal Souls' 

Next up Guzy picks up the pace with a transcendent track that was written and inspired by the hot days of the summer. 'Sunsirman' which translates in to sun burn came to life during the early summer days in a park while Guzy was resting under a tree. The track packs a scolding bass-line and a melody that balances out the groove. This track will leave every dance floor rocking and thirsty for more. 

Matthias Schuell & Felix Larson collaborate to bring us a raw cut the provokes the listeners mind into deep jubilation. 'Stress'n Rumble' conveys a fracturing Bass-line depicting a door of coinciding melodies, triggering an everlasting groove, accompanied by a crisp clap. 

Talul supplies 'Jido', a track on a celestial quest that enriches the collection with a touch of acid and moving percussion. 
'Jido' begins with a driving baseline that foreshadows a melancholic frequency into the journey. 

Dunkelheit is also happy to welcome Grand, and WO-CORE on board. 
Grand supplies a track that ruptures a void through time, he supplies a symphony that carries your sense into an ongoing musical journey. 
WO-CORE on the other hand deliver a piercing track that offers a decendant taking you through realms of times while riding a hypnotic melody that intensifies the journey

The bright light at the end of the tunnel, the rewarding feel of relief after phases of tension, the rising morning sun on a festival dance floor that you enjoy with your loved ones - all those feelings could have been the blueprints for the main track on Riepshoff & Suchopar's new EP “Sunrise On The Fields Of Sorrow”. Accompanied by a laid back beat, beautiful synth chords with a lot of attention to detail in sound design define the perception of this EP. A bit of international flair is brought to the table by Talking Machines from Brazil, an artist whose productions are equally loved by both parts of R&S and who generously contributed an excellent Electronica-style remix. A second remix by Elvis Sabani, an aspiring producer from R&S's local area completes the package. The second track of the EP, “The Tale Of Anniroc & Ydna" is a more uplifting tune with a beautiful piano melody hidden in an old dirty Fender Rhodes. It describes important parts of Suchopar's personal journey in life and is therefore a truly emotional piece of original music.
