Over the years, Berlin has been cited as Oliver Koletzki’s main point of reference and, more importantly, his endless source of inspiration. His albums Großstadtmärchen and Großstadtmärchen 2 are wholehearted tributes of the German capital, as its importance is continuously hinted and charted.  Friedrichshain, one of Berlin’s vibrant districts, has always held a special place in Oliver’s heart. This is where he started out when he first moved to the city, and this is where he lives now. Kreuzberg’s wall paintings adorn Stil Vor Talent ’s cover sleeves and host their headquarters. There are little to no corners in the city that haven’t brought a spark of inspiration into the mix. The Schneeweiss compilation series, now at its seventh installment, is built as a form of tribute to all these particles, tied in together into a series of carefully curated tracks. Just as Xivi, Raru is the hindu demon followed by a tiger that also tries to voraciously swallow the stars, causing the eclipses. Like these, countless ancestral myths around the world explain this phenomenon; for the Pomo people there is a fight between the Bear and the Sun, and for the Tlingit it is the moment of stealthy darkness for the Moon and the Sun to love each other.

Having given us a sweet lil teaser via remixing Yoram on the uplifting Nocturne, Modd continues to dig deeper into his explorations of house, taking us on a journey with his debut EP for Crossfrontier Audio, the Mensarda EP.

Being the relatively new guy on the scene, doesn’t mean much with Modd, having placed himself in a valuable position after releasing music on labels such as Anjunadeep & Kindisch, his productions are a breadth apart from most, favouring the euphoric and hazy washes of electronic music… each piece is a lull to another world.

With the Mensarda EP we’re given two original and all new tracks to boom out on those hot summer days where moments are magic: Mensarda and Kioki. Choose your poison wisely then, from the slow dripping tribal infused Mensarda that oozes warm tones, to the heightening Kioki where upbeat and vibrant undertones play melancholy with the rhythm.

There is a distinct vibe that Modd’s music provides, that we certainly are attached to, and it’s clear there is plenty more to come from the young upstart, so when these drop, we know there will be some blissful times on the dancefloor…

Inner Symphony is proud to present Mashk’s ‘Pathos’, marking catalogue number 004. A melodic and uplifting affair, ‘Pathos’ stays true to its name, elevating the listener into a state of bliss and contemplation.

The title track ‘Pathos’ soothes with bells, claves and a warm saw bass supported by a groove laden with claps and percussion. Arpeggiators and sparkling pads weave in and out carrying the listener to a carefree place of fond reminiscence.
