This composition is a reflection of the dualities that we all experience. The opening half was inspired by the lyrics of Zara Taylor's song "Impatient," which lent a sense of introspection and melancholy. Though we never ended up using Zara's song. As the composition progressed, we added a driving, energetic beat that provided a counterpoint to the introspection. These opposing forces come together to create a rich and emotionally charged piece of music.

The track originated from the three bass lines and 808 drums that you can hear at 00:12. Back then, we came up with a groovy beat sketch and locked it away in the "shadows", letting it simmer and brew. Sometime later, the fates intervened, drawing us back to this musical idea. We unravelled the secrets of the loop, weaving them into the composition you hear today, called "Out of the Shadows"

Some pointed out a similarity with "Clubbed to Death" by Rob Dougan. Could it be because of the G, A, Bb, and C notes played by the low strings in the chorus?

Rob Dougans' music is fantastic. Thanks, Matrix. Furthermore, "Clubbed to Death" was undoubtedly influenced by our favourite Edward Elgar variation, Variation IX. Nimrod from Variations on an Original Theme, Op. 36 "Enigma."

Out Of The Shadows

Despite its romantic title, the song "Road Trip" is actually quite introspective and deals with the theme of depression. The song aims to communicate the feelings of those who suffer from depression and to provide a sense of understanding and hope to listeners.

The track is divided into three main parts: the first part, which represents the feeling of low energy or mild depression; the second part, which represents the feeling of inner turmoil and struggle; and the third part, which represents the feeling of relief and the love and support received from others.

Road Trip

Many artists are influenced by the work of others without realizing it. We believe this is the case with our composition, "The Unconscious Mind." Some listeners have detected a connection to "Inertia Creeps" by Massive Attack, while others have felt the ghostly presence of Lana Del Ray's melancholy. Is this track the product of our own unconscious minds, or is it a tapestry of hidden influences, woven together by some unseen hand? Ultimately, the interpretation of the track is up to you.
