Bokoya is a four-piece jazz/hip-hop band from Cologne who plays improvised beat music. Like a four-headed human drum machine, Bokoya improvise, shape, and develop beats in the electric field of repetition and variation. It's impossible to put a tag on Bokoya's music. BADBADNOTGOOD, Dilla, Krautrock, Ambient and dub might work as rough reference points for the music but don't do it justice. After a sling of releases on Wadada Records, Bokoya are now signed to Melting Pot Music where they will release their new album ‘Hausensession’ in October. The double single ‘Swampland / Cava’ is their second taster.

Calgary based jazz guitarist and trumpeter, David Lavoie, has been hot on the local jazz scene playing shows multiple nights a week and honing the sound of his jazz compositions. "If I Were Me" features New Jersey jazz great Pat Van Dyke on the drums and the soaring trumpet melodies from Lavoie. With a degree in jazz composition from North Vancouver University, Lavoie is just stretching his legs and getting started with his jazz tunes. Inner Ocean Records is a platform and collective for emerging artists to release music and visual art.
