'Music for the Ninth Silence', the first full-length ambient album by TOMC, is a work that speaks of "uncategorizable emotions and silence”, comparing them to the metropolis. The duration of all the tracks is unified at 4 minutes and 33 seconds, and each track is given a name based on psychologist Carl Jung's eight typologies and the places in Tokyo that TOMC recalls. 

All of the music is produced with TOMC's electronic piano playing, with a nod to Hiroshi Yoshimura, Erik Satie and Steve Reich, and without sampling from existing music. The fusion of tones reminiscent of 1980s Japanese ambient / new age music and the three-dimensional sound textures of contemporary ASMR culture, free from the constraints of the grid, is a reflection of his vision of Tokyo. 

The vibrant Japan of the 1980s is considered by many young Japanese people to be a fantasy far removed from the present day. On the other hand, much of the culture and urban landscape of modern Japan undeniably originates from the 1980s. TOMC, who lives in Tokyo, the largest city in Japan today, has been thinking about the "uncategorizable emotions and silence" that suddenly come to the minds of people living in the city, which is faced with various problems unique to developed countries and sometimes has to embrace a sense of stagnation, and depicted them in this album. 

TOMC sees that ambient and new age music is not a form of "escapism" but an art form to connect the self with reality. When people who are in the midst of "uncategorizable emotions and silence" (i.e., you in someday) come into contact with the tracks and reclaim themselves, this album will be truly completed.

TOMC - Introverted Feeling (Nihonbashi)

"Drowning In The Sky" is a collaboration album between PJUSK (Rune Sagevik & Jostein Gjelsvik) & SLEEP ORCHESTRA (Christopher Pegg). 

The project came about after SLEEP ORCHESTRA was given some recommended listening by a friend. After listening to PJUSK for many months, he found out that they were performing at Storung Festival in Barcelona the next year. PJUSK and SLEEP ORCHESTRA met at the festival and after a good chat and listening to each others material, it was agreed by both parties that they wanted to work together on a collaboration album. 

Chris has said that, "If it wasn't for my friend recommending me to listen to PJUSK's "Tele" album this project may never have happened!" 
That friend was Juan Diego Burillo (1974 - 2012). The Album "Drowning In The Sky" is dedicated to his memory. 

The music of "Drowning In The Sky" creates a soundtrack of ambient soundscapes and drones that move you slowly and steadily through an ever changing landscape of water, fog and the clouds in the sky. This is the type of music to listen to when you just want to float away to another world.

Well there we go, another EP :)! This one is a bit different than the last one, its not lofi, its not rly hiphopbeatthingwhateveryouwannacallit, its more subtle, more ambient and melancholic I guess. It's more of a personal album, as it does showcase some different emotional stages that I have gone through in the last couple of months, it has been a rollercoaster and it still kind of is, but oh well.
In any case, hope you enjoy these tracks. And I hope they appeal to a larger audience, and I especially hope that some people can relate to these tracks, and maybe even find some sort of comfort in at least one of them. PEACEEEEEEE

Hey guys. This will be my last "lofi" project for a while. I am personally not that happy with this, for a couple of reasons: Most of my focus is going into by debut LP which will be out in 2018-19. The other reason, is that I don't feel like this is really "me", or my own style. Inner Ocean Records is a platform and collective for emerging artists to release music and visual art.
