This is a post-recorded mix of my dj-set at my 100th gig at Supercharged Club in Lahti, Finland on Feb 4th, 2011. The party was with Dj Proteus, Heathen, J7, Jayvee, Jace and others in nightclub Disco Glow and we had some awesome time over there with over 300 people crowd present!! :) The mix was recorded with a pair of Pioneer CDJ-100S and a DJM-600 mixer.

8. Spanish Gypsy

Until quite recently I lived the Sierra Guadarrama mountains in Spain for several years where I was exposed to a lot of excellent Flamenco music, which is the music of the Gypsies or Romani. 

Being a guitarist myself I couldn't help but get sucked into figuring out how to play this style on guitar. While I was learning, I was struck by the similarity between Flamenco and North African and Indian music and when I analysed it, I found that they share certain musical scales. (interestingly the Romani were originally a nomadic tribe from northen India that travelled to Europe in the12th century) 

Another musical conjunction was the similarity (to me) between the harmony and rhythm of the opening bars of that quintessentially Spanish dance the Pasa Doble and a lot of Trance built on a gallop rhythm. 

So the original inspirational spark began with the possibility of combining all these musical threads into one piece of music. So, I started by creating the melody on a Flamenco scale, over the rhythm of the Pasa Doble with it's semi-tone harmonic movement and mixed that with certain elements of the older Indian influenced Goa-trance sound, but built it all on a foundation of the big kick and bass from the more modern Psytrance sound. 

Later I dusted off the (steel strung) acoustic and recorded some melodic guitar parts using some newly learned Flamenco licks to emphasis the Gitano flavour. 

The track you hear is the result of this weird musical synthesis of Goa, Psy trance, Flamenco and the Pasa Doble.

For all you that miss or still enjoy the old 2004 Filteria sound; I am bringing you the Sky Input Remixed EP. All these tracks were made 2003-2005. They have been remastered though to make them more balanced in the frequency spectrum. However I have left my trademark sound in there from that era. This release will be available at filteria.bandcamp.com and other online stores on Thursday (2013-02-14). His first contact with trance music was in 1999 when he was fascinated by the music. After couple of years he started making his own music - and InnerSelf project was born. He released his first EP for UAF Records. After a greatsuccess with his first EP he continues to work with some other labels and he produced couple tracks on several compilations : track ''On The Wild Side'' was released on V.A. Modra Zora ( Cosmic Flower Records ) ,track ''At The Edge Of The Universe'' was released onV.A. Pantheon ( NeoGoa ), track ''The Story Of Milky Way'' was released on V.A. Rajanga for japanese Rajas Records, V.A. Solar Love ( track Magnetic Field Lines ) and on V.A. LSD Connection ( track Shifting Reality ), V.A Call Of Goa ( track Hidden Worlds ) for Ovnimoon Records V.A. Turlitava ( track Life is only a dream ). He also made some colaborations with some other artists like New Born ( Cronomi Records) from Israel and also some new upcoming colaborations . Under the same name, InnerSelf made some chillout and downtempo tracks, latest track is released for one of the biggest labels for psybient and downtempo music - Canadian ALTAR RECORDS, track Rise Of The Earth Keepers.
