Amount  and  Tiefgeist  team  up  for  EP  number  twenty  on  Heimlich  Musik,  col-laborating  between  Munich  and  Berlin  to  deliver  two  fresh  original  mixes  with  Arutani  and  Lukas  Endhardt  on  remix  duty.  Beam  Me  Up  is  a  reduced  version  of  slowed-down  house  with  cosmic  synth  lines  building  upon  a  foundation  of  analog  drums  and  an  energetic  bassline.  Reise  durch  den  Äther  takes  a  darker  path based on a hypnotic synth structure inspired by Dub Techno with psyche-delic accents fl oating along with the arrangement. While Arutani’s interpretation of Beam Me Up makes use of his emotional signature style somewhere between melancholia and euphoria, Lukas Endhardt’s remix of Reise durch den Äther is full of energy with a banging bassline and trippy elements strongly inspired by the original’s main synth theme. Amount and Tiefgeist’s Beam Me Up EP is a modern interpretation of classic genres of electronic music with vintage vibes and a pinch of Bavarian beer.

Our No. 226 today comes from an artist who has been with me for what feels like an eternity and has fascinated me ever since with his polished and mind-expanding sets.  

We are talking about schnuppo who is always good for a surprise with his very special, organic and hypnotic sound. In addition, he is the founder and host of the internationally known Viennese label and party collective https://soundcloud.com/downvienna, which not only releases exquisitely coherent and authentic releases corresponding to the label, but also shines with its unique artwork from https://www.kilianvandewater.com/. Can I really recommend to everyone without reservation. No matter if you are interested in the music or the design. It's definitely worth it.

His set recorded for us is about the same as the sound of the label. From the beginning he opens up the dark side of downtempo to the listener without going over the top. As he progresses, he always intersperses hypnotic, melancholic and partly melodic elements between downpitched and acid-heavy progressive techno tracks, giving the whole thing an organic framework. Despite the reduced tempo, the tracks still groove and only unfold a new, namely depth-expanding effect. Here a clap, there a cranky acidline....ja that fits. And this over 67 minutes. Definitely a typical schnuppo, although a bit more driving than I expected before. Still a class interpretation of his afterhour.

Fasten your seatbelts... I can only repeat myself, but you can expect a journey that is made for an afterhour. No phrase, no fake news, but honest words of a music loving Spessarter.

Unsere Nr. 226 kommt heute von einem Künstler welcher mich seit einer gefühlten Ewigkeit begleitet und mich seither mit seinen ausgefeilten und bewusstseinserweiternden Sets fasziniert. Dies über mehrere Jahre zu leisten ist wirklich beeindruckend und kann definitiv nicht jeder. 

Die Rede ist von schnuppo  der mit seinem ganz speziellen, organischen und hypnotischen Sound immer wieder für eine Überraschung gut ist. Zudem ist er Gründer und Hausherr des international bekannten Wiener Labels und Partykollektivs https://soundcloud.com/downvienna, welches nicht nur vorzüglich kohärente und dem Label entsprechende authentische Releases veröffentlicht, sondern auch durch sein einzigartiges Artwork von https://www.kilianvandewater.com/ glänzt. Kann ich wirklich jedem uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Egal ob man sich für die Musik oder das Design interessiert. Es lohnt sich definitiv.

Sein für uns aufgenommenes Set entspricht in etwa dem Sound des Labels. Von Anfang eröffnet er dem Hörer die dunkle Seite des Downtempo ohne dabei zu überdrehen. Im weiteren Verlauf streut er immer zwischen downgepitchten und acidlastigen Progressive Techno Tracks wieder hypnotische, melancholische und teils melodiöse Elemente ein, die dem Ganzen einen organischen Rahmen geben. Trotz des reduzierten Tempi grooven die Tracks immer noch und entfalten erst eine neue, nämlich tiefenerweiternde Wirkung. Hier ein Clap, da eine verschrobene Acidline….ja das passt. Und dies über 67 Minuten. Definitiv ein typischer schnuppo, wenn auch etwas treibender als ich es zuvor erwartet habe. Dennoch eine Klasse Interpretation seiner Afterhour.

Schnallt euch an… Ich kann mich nur wiederholen, aber es erwartet euch eine Reise, die wie gemacht für eine Afterhour ist. Keine Phrase, keine Fake-News, sondern ehrliche Worte eines musikverliebten Spessarters.
