Since launching Selador with compadre and fellow denizen of the decks Steve Parry back in 2013, Dave Seaman has been on one of the most prolific production runs of his long and storied career. Tunes like ‘Hired State of Unconsciousness’, ‘Thonk’ and ‘Donkey Engine’ have not only destroyed dancefloors (both real and virtual) but have also led to a stellar band of top draw producers being only too keen to dig out the disco scissors and remix Dave’s output. Which brings us neatly to Selected Reworks, a collection of three brand new re-rubs, all with the quality control knob turned firmly up to 11.

Buzzfuzzle – Luke Brancaccio & Gai Barone remix
If Dave’s original version of this no-nonsense piledriver had a distinct flavour of vintage 1987 Trax Records Chicago, the dream team of Luke & Gui take initial inspiration from a year later – yes, there is more than a whiff of 1988 meets 2021 in their acidic workout. Like the original, this is a heads down, let’s go, peak-time corker.

Racket Abuse – Charles Webster remix
Next up, time to roll out the red carpet for house music royalty in the shape of Charles Webster, who in his ever-unique style delivers a psychedelic electro gem which may well tempt Dave to get his lino out for a quick pop & lock session just for old times sake. A tripped out genius of a mix that makes maximum use of the original version’s mind-bending vocal hook and is set to wreak havoc on discerning dancefloors.

Rodales – Damon Jee’s Light remix
Fresh from his appearance on Dave’s recent vinyl release for Selador, Damon Jee brings us a second take on Dave’s hypnotic contribution to the second 3D EP, ‘Rodales’. Needless to say, he hits bullseye yet again with this Moroder-esque slab of 21st century disco exotica.

Mighty started his musical career in the early 1990s as member of the legendary Hamburg HipHop band Poets of Peeze from which German HipHop groups like Fettes Brot, Der Tobi & das Bo and Fünf Sterne deluxe were evolving. In the early 2000 years he teamed up with Mainz local Sven Cherouny to record their Mombasa EP in Tobitob's Sauna Lab in Hamburg.
2016 he joined Fettes Brot again during their "Gebäck in the days" concerts in Hamburg and since 2017 he helps his "teenage love" Italo Disco to boost into the 21st Century producing Synthwave tracks under the name "Machia & Velli". He finally sent Bungalo Disco a bunch of great tracks wherefrom four of them finally formed his debut EP „Discorsi“. It ́s co-produced by Tobitob.

Madd Rod is a sound explorer setting no boundaries for his explorations in music production. With this long-awaited return to Inner Shah, the label boss unveils the work he has been working on, showing futurism through retro aesthetics.

The EP — named after the lead single, Against Hate Speech — is a collection of three dance tracks paced by strong basslines and vintage percussion.

The first track exalts a groovy mood, recurring to acid synths and bouncy stabs. A hypnotic riff drives the piece while rhythmic elements come and go, only making room for spacey leads that extol its aesthetics.

Face to Face relies on heavy toms and a fast bassline to set a rather dark tone that clashes with its dreamy chords. The track tells the story of two strangers who meet in a sweaty room, make eye contact and engage in a dance that lasts until sunrise.

"Echoes and Illusions" is poetically divided between bright vocal stabs and dystopic leads. Its dark tone is not a call to war but to the frontline — instrumentally shouting: life is good, the world can wait, and you deserve it.

The EP redefines the spectrum of Madd Rod's soundscape, giving hints of what to expect next. The promise is clear: faster and hypnotizing rhythms and a return to the past with the eyes fiercely set on the future.

Exclusive Nuiton 'Kure'

With two releases on Exit Strategy, namely 'Cherry Protocol' and 'Out Of Prism', Nuiton has already left his mark in the (melodic) electronic music scene. Now the producer returns to the Berlin-based label to contribute two tracks to its first various artist EP, 'Shifting Pieces' – as the artist himself musically shifts from raw minimalistic and dub-techno influenced music and spreads a sense of 'Burialism' with his 'Kure' take, which is named after the eponymous Japanese city that is known for engineering, its steel-industry and ship building, so basically everything that 'Kure' covers in a musical way. A hammering bass line, straight out of a steel-forge, is the backbone of this massively minimalistic held track that is enriched with deep dub-chords and haunting vocals adding a mystically dark vibe that is supported by those little floating background sounds. Rarely or almost never before have such exquisitely arranged elements had such a huge effect on an outcome, which can be simply called 'the melodic steel-hammer' hitting its way through the floor. 

'Shifting Pieces' will be released on Exit Strategy on November 15th, 2019.

EXCLUSIVE: Nuiton - Kure [Exit Strategy]

Greek wizard @echonomist arrives on @tautautauofficial with the ‘Modern Wonder’ EP, featuring three original cuts and a remix from @ditian. Echonomist hasbeen deep in the game for a long while and it’s safe to say he is Greece’s top DJ and producer of our times. He is an all-rounder who can DJ, produce and perform live with confidence and panache. After his exciting contribution to Dixon’s Transmoderna release alongside tracks by Ame, Trikk and others, ‘Modern Wonder’ sees Echonomist‘s debut with the TAU family.
Opening with ‘Eyes, the EP gets off to a dramatic start as moody synth lines and a driving bassline take us into the new wave zone. Echonomistdemonstrates his flair for arrangement here, with a carefully arranged track that could almost have been performed by a band. The atmosphere is gloomy and emotive, taking us for a ride into the night as flickering neon reflects off the rain covered streets in a sleazy part of town.
The title track is next, raising the energy levels somewhat with punchy beats and a searing atmosphere. Female singer Iokatsi delivers a brief vocal over the breakdown before the track continues with its melancholy yet heartfelt narrative.
‘The Touch’ follows, taking us further into realms of synth heaven. The main riff is gnarly, with electro-fied beats and a simple yet catchy rhythm. Echonomist adds a perfectly placed synth way up high to complement the low end, creating uplifting moments that juxtapose the gruff bassline.
Finally Ditian’s ‘Snake’ remix of ‘Modern Wonder’ closes the EP. This a deep, dubby rework with heavy emphasis on the bass to begin with. Ditian takes the main vocal and chops it into pieces, using “You’re trapped” to increase the tense, chilling atmosphere. Detuned piano keys add to themacabre feeling as Ditian rolls out a nasty, haunting rework.

After gigs in Bahnwärter Thiel, Import Export and Wannda’s Märchenbazar, Berlin and Munich based producers Friends of Hannes discovered their addiction to deep space inspired sounds and released productions on Neele Records, Sounds from Earth, and Kósa Records. 
Their style is characterized by a contrast of fast and punchy bass lines, lush chords, and melodic arps. A remix in collaboration with Violent Vicky marks their first release on Emerald & Doreen Records, followed by their second EP, Reaktor, which is supported by remixes by Rad.Lez, Ludviq and The Robot Scientists.
