To mark World Oceans Day 2021, we partnered with Concentric Records, TBA-21-Academy and Ocean Archive for a full day of broadcasts based on and inspired by sounds from the oceans.

 The incredible Ocean Archive is a sound library of the seas and harbours of the world, from Galapagos to the North Atlantic. It includes many types of whale, fish, earthquake, seismic explosions, methane seeps, tectonic plates and deep water drilling.

 The artists invited to make broadcasts based on this archive are Jake Muir, Izabel, Beluga, Carl Michael von Hausswolff / Dark Morph, Baby Vulture, Terrence Dixon, Jana Winderen reporting live from the seas, and finally Refuge Worldwide programmer Richard Akingbehin.

"Voice Figures" release has been inspired by the research of Margaret Watts Hughes and her eidophone tool for visualising specific frequencies, geometrical & natural forms produced by vibrations of the human voice.

"At first, when directing the voice against the semi-liquid mass upon the centre of the disc, there is a feeling as if some impassable barrier were encountered and that it would be as easy to move a mountain with a push of the hand as to set that colour heap moving by the action of a note." (Margaret Watts Hughes)


I performed a variation on this experiment based on recording multiple singled frequencies generated by tuning forks, frequency generator and gong, which resonated on the metal surface and inside the soil. I captured reverberated metal surface, secondary resonation through the soil and oscillation of the bowl. The experiment is accompanied by recordings of water, coffee beans, my voice and string recordings in varied pitch and velocities.

In dieser schier unendlichen Schar an DJs und denen die meinen einer zu sein, gibt es immer wieder Akteure die mit ihrem außergewöhnlichen Verständnis für die Musik hervorstechen und zu begeistern wissen und zu denen gehört auch unser heutiger Podcast Künstler Nil Son. Er steht bereits seit 2007 hinter den Decks und zählt in seiner Heimatstadt Dresden zu den absoluten Urgesteinen der heimischen Club-Szene, doch auch weit über die Stadtgrenzen hinaus kennt und schätzt man ihn für seine Qualitäten.

Bei so viel Vorschusslorbeeren waren die Erwartungen bei uns im Vorfeld natürlich groß, aber wo Nil Son draufsteht - da ist auch Nil Son drin, deshalb lasst euch nun die folgenden 72 Minuten auf eine wirklich ganz besondere Reise mitnehmen und genießt das heutige Kaiserwetter.

LARAAJI (with healing sound accompaniment by Arji OceAnanda)

We are humbled to present this concert, a unique performance by the one and only LARAAJI. 

Laraaji
Laraaji is an American multi-instrumentalist specializing in piano, zither and mbira.
Born in Philadelphia, he studied violin, piano, trombone and voice in his early years in New Jersey. He attended Howard University on a scholarship to study composition and piano. After studying at Howard, he spent time in New York City pursuing a career as a stand-up comedian and actor.

In the early 1970s, he began to study Eastern mysticism and believed he'd found a new path for his music and his life. It was also at this time he bought his first zither from a local pawn shop. Converting it to an electronic instrument, he began to experiment using the instrument like a piano. By 1978, he developed enough skill to begin busking in the parks and on the sidewalks of New York.

The following year he was "discovered" by Brian Eno while playing in Washington Square Park. The result was his most widely-recognized release, Ambient 3: Day of Radiance, the third installment of Brian Eno's Ambient series. This was his first album released under the name of Laraaji.

This international exposure led to requests for longer versions of his compositions which he supplied to meditation groups on cassette tapes. It also resulted in an expansion of his mystic studies with such gurus as Swami Satchidananda and Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati, founder of the Ananda Ashram in Monroe, New York.

Laraaji's also started the Laughter Meditation Workshops which he still presents around the globe.

Recently, Laraaji's earlier LPs were reissued, making his special music available to the public again. He has also recently collaborated with contemporary artists, like Sun Araw.
With so much to say, and so much being said about LARAAJI, it might be best to let you decide.

Fusion und Feel Festival sind Geschichte und nach insgesamt 14 Tagen Camperleben heißt es nun wieder Back2Reality. An dieser Stelle möchte ich mich von ganzem Herzen für diese wunderschöne gemeinsame Zeit bei meiner geliebten Station Endlos Crew, meinen Lieblingsmenschen um Delia, Pascal, Tony, Lena, Marci, die Reichelts, die ganze Hamburger Crew und nicht zuletzt bei meinem Herbergsvater Olli bedanken! Ohne euch wäre das zum einen gar nicht möglich gewesen und zum anderen würde es nicht mal halb so viel Spaß machen <3

Zum krönenden Abschluss meiner Reise durften mein geschätzter b2b Partner Nil Son und ich am vergangenen Montag vor Monkey Safari und Pan - Pot das grandiose Ende des Feel Festivals auf unserer Station Endlos Stage einläuten. Für mich war es ganz sicher eines der schönsten Sets die ich bisher spielen durfte und dass wir dabei richtig derbe Spaß hatten, das konnte man denke ich auch hören.Dafür gebührt meinem liebsten b2b Bro Nil Son nochmals ein riesiges Dankeschön, das wiederholen wir zu gegebener Zeit nochmal <3
