Socorra is a singer-songwriter from San Jose, California. She is a drummer turned guitar player, combining her blues-driven indie-rock sound with a love of pop music. Suffering from stage fright at a young age, she didn’t start performing in front of people until she was 18 years old when she was recruited to be in an acapella group her freshman year of college. Throughout her college years she explored songwriting and performing more before joining the Peace Corps in Morocco in 2010. During her volunteer service she had opportunities to perform all over Morocco, discovering ways to connect with people through music.      

After serving in the Peace Corps, she took an internship at an independent record label where she was more inspired to step out from behind the scenes and put out her own music. She has opened up for acts like Blues Traveler and Fantastic Negrito and has released two EPs, Break and Coming Home Soon. The later released in February 2020. She is now based in Austin, Texas.

With a voice uniquely her own, Hawaiian singer-songwriter Kawehi draws you in with her catchy hooks and honest lyric.  Manned by a Guitar, 'Ukulele and Boss RC-30 Looping Station, she's a "one-man band" creating intricate loops via beatboxing and creative guitar usage.  Since taking a GIANT leap to L.A. from her home in Hawai'i, she has been featured in Music Connection Magazine's "Hot 100 Unsigned Artists & Bands" in 2011.  Her videos have been featured on CBS News Most Viral Videos, Vimeo, Booooooom! and Sony Music.

Now with over 200 shows nationally under her belt, Kawehi is making a name for herself as a true DIY artist, creating music that is both tangible and relative - and generating much-deserved attention from both fans and industry folk alike.
