After years of golden dispatches on the likes of Truesoul, UK deep tech conjurer Reset Robot makes his debut on Ovum with three pure pedigree plates. ‘Barking Orders’ does not live up to its name; neither does it bark at you, or order to you to bark. Rather, it gently insists through the medium of a sinewy rippling hook that gradually builds with deep, alluring hypnotic effect in a way that’s tailored perfectly to Ovum. Next we take a bite down on ‘Corquette’ a track that’s unapologetically lean and robust in its opening throws. Subby, chunky but starkly naked until we’re well past the three minute mark, the intense suspense pays off with epic synth salvos that really will have you barking. Finally Reset Robot sends us off with a nightcap; ‘Tincture’. Once again we’re hit by minimal elements but maximum feels; broadsword sub-laced kicks, subtle croaks, groans and gentle droning pads set the scene before more rhythmic elements enter the fray and completely change the narrative and dynamic with a whole new sense of uplift. A consummate Ovum debut from an exemplary rising artist who consistently score best in breed. You gonna bark all day little doggy?

Hailing from one of Europe's historical hot beds for electronic music, Valencia, Upercent makes his well deserved return to KX. Electronic music culture runs deep in his hometown. Barraca, with 50 years of age one of the world's longest running clubs was instrumental in developing what later on became the global phenomenon called Balearic Disco, one of the blueprints for modern clubbing as we know it. Upercent's take on house music is shaped by his unorthodox use of classical instruments and a deep understanding of groove. His new double header for Kompakt's offshoot KX once again proves Upercent's knack for highly infectious hooks and elegant story-telling. Both "Ocell" and "Explota" are fine examples of his tremendous skills in creating state of the art club music with depth and vigor.

It's been almost precisely a year since Jonathan Kaspar debuted on André Hommen's These Eyes imprint with his well-respected "Panem EP". Now he's back with yet another outstanding two-track release.

A-side "Villose", already on high rotation throughout the summer, comes with a heavy synth-line and paired up extra-ordinary sounds and breaks. Whilst the slightly more restrained B-side, "Pavid" pairs perfectly with the earlier or later hours through the night.

In the midst of a crazy summer touring schedule including all kinds of festival dates and on the cusp of a Kompakt debut forthcoming shortly, Jonathan Kaspar has clearly made massive strides since the last EP. We are more than thrilled to welcome him back to These Eyes for his second EP.

'After the huge success of his 'Elle / Lui' EP, Olivier Giacomotto is back for his second EP for Yoshitoshi this year. The French producer picks up where he left off, continuing his deep, melodic journey with 'Impala' and 'Medusa.' 

'Impala' is build around a deep, playa-ready groove that provides the perfect sound for trippy and exciting sets. The track's grandiose melody is spacious and uplifting, complementing a heavy breakdown that kicks back into high gear and leaves listeners feeling alive and ready to dance. 'Medusa' follows a similar formula, its sound slightly deeper and more suited for the after party. Olivier's beautiful synth riffs and rolling bass lines captivate you as he takes you on a boundless journey through his unique sound.
