This track has its beginning at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival in 2010. The danish producerteam Lulu Rouge was commissioned to play a mix of electronic music with jazz classics of great Nina Simone.  This is one of their mixes played live that summer evening.
Lulu Rouge returned to the Copenhagen Jazz Festival in 2011 in tribute of Billie Holiday.

Premiering on DHA are Tuff City Kids, the production duo consisting of Phillip Lauer and Gerd Janson, as they remix Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin's club classic 'Atlas'.

Ordinarily, you would put J before L to preserve alphabetical order, but in this case the amount of work done by Lauer necessitates some sort of nod – rhetorically or otherwise. Early in their career, Philip and Gerd had been focusing largely on remix commissions rather than original production, but have since diversified their output. They've gone on releasing on renowned labels such as Creme Organization, CONSTRUCT, Freebase Records, and Mojuba.

Today, the Tuff City Kids provide their unique future disco take on 'Atlas,' which comes off a very special Systematic Recordings remix package. Strictly limited to 500 vinyl-only copies, the stellar package also contains remixes from Diynamic wunderkids Adriatique, as well as Innervisions André Lodemann.

Why do we tell stories? 

We breathe, we eat, we sleep. We seek connection. These are our basic human needs. 

But there is one more need we all share, and it centres on stories. All across the world, stories are being recounted everywhere, in every imaginable way, at any given time. For telling stories is at the very essence of what it is to be human. 

The universe of stories can be broken down into seven basic plots which underlie all stories ever told. Recognising these patterns is the gateway to unravelling the universal symbolic language from which all storytelling is spun. 

With 'Rebirth', Chapter 24 returns with seven stories in sound collected from artists all across the world to bring these themes to life, the seventh and final iteration in this compilation series.

South African star Bruce Loko (Get Physical, Freerange) opens proceedings with the deep, melodious textures of Cyclone, whipping up the ethereal eye of the storm. Chapter 24 regular Kieran Apter is next, making good the tension with the impactful 6.10.21 Break. Such is the power of this track that it propels the listener into new sonic dimensions.

Kostakis (Get Physical, Katermukke) offers up Xerxes, which is equally big and conjures up the dusty, mysterious and impenetrable planes of the desert. Meanwhile, Acumen returns to the imprint in collaboration with Pontias. Shower for Hours is a pumping, techy number bound to get the dancefloor bouncing before opening out into a euphoric peak.

The compilation closes out with a high quality trio. Label favourite KatrinKa delivers the typically deep groove of ABAF. DJ Zombi (Beat Boutique) takes things further down into a dreamy and blissful space with Steph. The honour of closing out the final Seven Stories befalls Hope Recordings and Soundgarden legend Nick Warren and the talented Nicolas Rada, who revisit Anton Dhouran's Valhalla Rising. Their Edition is fittingly deep, transportative and dramatic. 

They say that there are only seven basic plots but a thousand different stories. 

And so, as the storyteller utters that age old, magical phrase "Once upon a time...", let yourself be carried away one final time...
