One of Dancing Astronaut’s artists to watch in 2017 and the man behind one of the most impressive debuts of 2016, Beatport #1 album ‘One Day of Independence’ on Guy J’s Lost & Found, returns to home ground. This time in the shape of 5 incredible remixes by some of electronic music’s most intriguing and brightest stars.

Lehar, Luca Bachetti, Patrice Baumel, Termoment and Lost & Found head honcho Guy J have each reinterpreted their favourite off Khen’s future classic debut.

‘Imaginal Cells’ has been repurposed by the label boss himself into a beautiful slice of melodic goodness. With trippy FX details and a serene breakdown, its yet another Guy J classic rework. 

Diynamic's Lehar offers his take on the Khen and Guy J collabo ‘Prism’, turning down the intensity of the original with a sophisticated touch, he leads the track to deeper waters with an infectious melody that marries the familiar underlying key elements of the original in perfect symbiosis.

The sonic voyage continues with Luca Bachetti’s groovish take on ‘Authentica’. Adding to the recognisable lead melody, he gives the track an almost cinematic and atmospheric treatment that leaves you longing for more.

Patrice Baumel, fresh from the success of his recent remix of Cubicolor, tackles ‘Land of Goshen’. Taking the track in a more driving and pumping direction with a nod to 90s classic Trance, this track will cause a stir in sets from dusk to dawn.

Closing the collection on a trippy vibe with hints of old school Acid and an uncanny detailed soundscape that will leave you in awe, is Termoment’s take on ‘One Day of Independence’. A beautiful and fitting finalé to this weighty package of reworks.

Surfing those uncharted sound waves, Something Is Happening is an utterly hypnotic 12-minute throbbing futuristic journey, that constantly surprises and delights with twists galore. Lopezhouse first came to the attention of Bedrock fans when John Digweed included Guy Js excellent dub remix of Crosses & Angels on his Live in Brooklyn opus. Their debut November Clouds EP followed in the summer of 2017 and was met with much critical acclaim. Since then, they have carefully navigated their ever-rising popularity and gained huge respect with further excellent releases on the likes of Exploited, Plattenbank, Sincopat, Suara and Vondreib, before returning to Bedrock to conclude a highly successful 2019. Lopezhouse are most definitely artists to watch into the future.

Berlin/Panama-based brothers K.E.E.N.E. have been making a name for themselves with their brooding, slow-building afro house / tech chuggers, but on this release for Exploited they show their love for strong vocals and sorrowful melody.

A dizzying flurry of synth arpeggio teases as throbbing monotone bass carves its way between the shuffling shaker patterns. A minor piano chord progression builds an introspective vibe as the atmospheric male vocal paints a picture of a man pining for his departed lover. Cleverly-deployed FX blurs the edges, delayed hits and stuttering white noise adding energy. A rolling conga rhythm laces the heady breakdown as the fizzing synths tingle their way up your spine. You begin to notice other subtle touches like the slightly warped detune effect on the piano chords and hazy synth washes that tease the background of the track. It's a testament to their skills as producers and arrangers, cutting away the fat to produce slick, impactful dancefloor monsters time and time again.

With its relentless beat, impassioned-yet-restrained vocal and gorgeous atmospheric touches, ‘Missing Point’ could just be K.E.E.N.E.’s most impressive work to date, and one that shows they have a very exciting future ahead.

By now a regular and important part of the Exploited Ghetto roster, Martin Waslewski has previously supplied bombs for the label such as ‘Rarara’, ‘Majaka’ and ‘Malindi‘. He’s back with another gorgeous cut here that’s set to delight clubs and festivals the world over across the summer and beyond.
A beautiful melodic techno cut, ‘Maserati Syndrom’ exudes class and grace. A nagging monotone synth hook drives away under chattering hi-hats, gradually evolving into a gently uplifting chord progression while a piano plays a languid refrain in the distance. A cute lead melody teases in the first breakdown, and the bassline drops in with the kicks thereafter. Swathes of distant pads create a cinematic atmosphere as subtle layers of percussion add to the driving feel.
The epic breakdown strips things down to bare bones, allowing the sweet main melody to take centre stage. When the beat kicks back in, the monotone intensity returns with a pared back arrangement, allowing the whole glorious soundscape to be built up once again. A gorgeous metallic arpeggio tops it all off, making the icing on this very tasty sonic cake.
