This is followed by GUYNAMUKAT's second mix which slow down the proceeedings a tad for a  boogie fired version with live disco bass,handclaps and Tabu Zombie's unmistakeable muted trumpet. Let's now get started with our brand new 4 tracker EP series on the Mandrill by welcoming our head honcho - label boss: Fernando Mendoza A.K.A. The Funk District bringing us the perfect blends for the summer, get ready !!! For our first delight 'Freaky Stuff' Fernando drops a tropical funky conga - driven cut with fresh guitars, dominant slaps on the bass section and harmonic vocal chops as a starter. Right next to it comes 'Do It Right' dominated by a perpetual bassline filled with Afro vocals and trumpet riffs making it an intense cut with lots of energy. On the other side 'Soul Vibration' arrives with a tropical disco vibe with his rich rhythm section filled with congas, outstanding trumpet solos and catchy vocals to sing along. To finish the release 'Tin Lin Lon' samples a classic African tune from Benin with a funky - house touch making it an exceptional gem to make your body move anytime & everywhere ... you cannot miss it !!

Following early outings on Electric Friends and Spa In Disco, fast-rising producer JMMSTR (no relation to Freerange boss Jimpster) makes a first appearance on Slightly Transformed. There are two tracks to set the pulse racing. Opener "New York" is a confirmed mid-tempo treat: a woozy, 112 BPM shuffler that layers flash-fried guitars and piano-laden snippets from a swirling, string-laden disco classic atop thickset bass and bongo-heavy nu-disco beats. Virtual B-side "You Took" employs bouncier and crispier beats, with the producer utilizing filter effects to tease in elements of a female-fronted disco-funk number. The vocal breakdown is life affirming, but it's the trippy treatment of the sample source's hard-wired guitars that catches the ear.
