Die sechzehnte Ausgabe der Jeden Tag ein Set Podcastreihe kommt vom DJ und Produzenten Duo Rey & Kjavik.   Quasi aus dem Nichts kam das Duo, vergangenes Jahr und begeisterte uns von Anfang in ihren Sets mit diesem speziellen Vibe und ihrem düsteren, basslastigen Sound.

Ihre Tracks und Remixe wurden bisher auf Labels wie Get Physical, Kattermukke oder Compost veröffentlicht. Nun haben sich die beiden im Studio verschanzt und sind mit neuer EP und eigenem Label zurück. Auf Rey & Kjavik Records wird das Duo ausschließlich selbst releasen und dort ihrem eigenen, doch sehr speziellen, dunklen House Sound endlich ein passendes Zuhause bieten. Die erste EP „Prototype“ knüpft musikalisch an das an, was man vom Duo aus Frankfurt kennt und schätzt.

Wir freuen uns ganz besonders, dass wir Rey & Kjavik für einen Podcast gewinnen konnten und wünschen Euch viel Spaß mit ihrem 90 minütigen, exklusiven Mix für JedenTagEinSet.

After a break, I’m happy to be out walking again, street by street, watching life unfold in the warm New York summer. Reaching our 100th edition feels special, and we couldn’t be more honored to celebrate it with Anthony Child. Many know him as Surgeon or as part of the British Murder Boys alongside Regis whose work has left a lasting mark on techno. Yet there’s another side to his work - one that steps away from the club and into more spacious terrain. You can hear it in his electronic recordings from the Maui project in 2015, in his collaborations with Daniel Bean as The Transcendence Orchestra, or through OLD Technology, the label they run together as a playground for questioning reality.

For Unrush, Anthony offers a mix that only he could create. A journey that wanders through krautrock, psychedelic twists, ambient spaces and moments of lighthearted play. It has the same curious energy that makes his monthly Noods mixes so inspiring, and yet it feels made to be taken in slowly, with time and openness.

We’re grateful to share this milestone with someone who has shaped so much of the music we love, and who reminds us that listening can be both grounding and transporting. Press play and enjoy it - on a walk, with friends, or in your own quiet time...

For the 326th instalment in the series, we give a warm welcome to OHM, aka Bjarnar Jonsson, an Icelandic-born DJ/producer now based in Copenhagen, who presents a deep, dubby, and brilliant mix that entices and captivates, gently ushering in another summer weekend.

OHM has been a dedicated force in the techno scene for nearly three decades. With a deep understanding of the craft, he blends deep, dub, and hypnotically meditative techno, creating a signature sound that resonates with purists and innovators alike.

Ebbs and Flows was chosen as the perfect platform to share a side of Romi's sound that is rarely played out but holds a very special place in his heart. The recording took place in Berlin at the studio of close friend Rami Abirafi, using CDJs and Technics 1200s.

Romi has been across the techno scene for decades, developing a vision for music that spans genres and moods. Bringing it all together coherently with a focus on deep, hypnotic sounds, he expresses this vision through Kizen's consistently high-quality output, that traverses multiple facets of electronic music.  A seasoned artist and world traveler now based in Berlin, Romi has spent over two decades creating atmospheric depths with an effortless touch.

Born in London and having lived in Bristol, James Laing (@soundsfromthenightgarden) draws from the sounds of both cities, alongside his musical knowledge which he has gained during his classical compositional training. With releases on Melifera, Indefinite Pitch & Beatrice M's hybrid Dubstep label, Bait, Night Garden aims to create richly psychedelic & hypnotic pieces which combine modern sound design with classical theoretical concepts.

“Dubstep has been one of my favourite genres of music for years but I’ve often found it tricky to place alongside the deeper techno I usually mix. At the beginning of
this summer, dubstep is pretty much all I was listening to, so, when I was presented the opportunity to close a party I attended in Umbria in June, I thought I’d try and solve this issue. This mix builds from deep dubstep through to high-energy techno via more abstract forms of 140 in the centre.”

Today’s Deep Mind Music entry is a trip through the depths of the earth from Shoal 🌘🌙

Listening to this set I was transported into another realm of being, taken by the hand through the mists of time, into the molten core of the earth. A transmission from the collective unconsciousness of mankind, sinking into the faded memories of our ancestors. Megalithic drones contrast with intricate moments of delicate celestial harmony, as iridescent shimmers of light glint into a shadowed cave. As the mix concludes, we softly re-emerge, floating on a blanket of rainbow-hued clouds ✨🤍

This mix is a live set made entirely of music composed by Shoal, formed from a series of recordings. It features field recordings captured in Japan, as well as a jam session with flute (Urosh), contrabass (Julian Tjon Sack Kie), and sound exploring a tam-tam gong, all collaged together. Thank you Shoal for this moving and evocative journey taking listeners through the primordial beyond 🌌💠🌀
