Madloch's 3rd Avenue is honored to present Jares' deeply personal new EP The Sam's Voyage, Pt. 4, a moving musical tribute to his late brother, accompanied by remixes from Cary Crank and Gone Deville.

The Montreal-based producer first appeared on the label's We Are The Future compilation in 2021, quickly establishing himself as an artist to watch. Known for his signature blend of deep progressive grooves and ethereal soundscapes, Jares has since released on esteemed imprints including Katermukke, Einmusika and Steyoyoke, while performing at iconic Canadian venues like Stereo Afterhours alongside industry heavyweights.

This special EP showcases Jares at his most emotionally resonant, channeling profound personal experience into his music. The package gains additional depth through reinterpretations by two distinguished artists: German veteran Cary Crank (Sunexplosion, Mango Alley) and Canadian talent Gone Deville (Toolroom, Artmotel, Mile End Records), whose diverse backgrounds create a compelling contrast.

Maelstrom is a French techno artist with over 15 years of experience. He might only just be putting out his debut album, but he’s long been recognised for his distinctive productions. Early in his career he was signed by The Hacker to his label Zone, as well as the French Bromance imprint. More recently, meanwhile, he’s released on Veronica Vasicka's Cititrax and put out music on the RAAR label he set up alongside Louisahhh. 

As you might imagine for someone with such a history, Maelstrom’s sound regularly sees him crossing the borders between techno and electro. As the mix he’s dropped for us reveals, this is something he’s particularly well versed in. Taking in the likes of DMX Krew and British Murder Boys alongside the more contemporary Sleeparchive and Ancient Methods, Maelstrom demonstrates an adept knowledge spanning the entire length of techno and electro history. With his forthcoming Room Two appearance for his label showcase coming in just two weeks, it’s got us more than prepped for an introduction to RAAR’s sound.

Following a prolific drumming career, CYB was lured into the techno world via his own experimentation with synthesizers and drum machines, an instinctive continuation of his journey as a musician. Since 2015, he's been infusing the scene with his own outputs, heavily influenced by the pulsating techno he found himself pulled towards, including embarking on a couple of solid collaborative projects which saw his musical persona evolve and thrive. All along the way, CYB's aim has been to entice listeners to take a peak into his world, immersing themselves in his take on electronic music - amplifying the perception of music and inspiring at every turn!

This hour long mix does exactly that! Hypnotic techno lovers (and anyone ready to be carried away), this one's for you!
