As is usually the case after completing an album, I tend to return to my style of emotive piano melodics.  "Reflect" was completed in one evening, after sitting at my controller keyboard exploring different phrases, until finally coming up with something that resonated with me. There are countless evenings like this that I never end up with anything at all worth recording. Just meandering with fingers randomly playing unmemorable motifs. Something I'm trying to learn with these types of tracks is to stop when I have a sense that the feeling is conveyed. Even if it ends up only 2-3 minutes long. I hope you enjoy it and helps you reflect on good times. 

I want to thank all the wonderful people in this SC community that have supported and expressed their enjoyment of my music. It's a hobby(turned passion) that has so much more significance when I get to read the gracious feedback that I'm so fortunate to receive.

I look forward to sharing more material from my new album “Focus”. I also have a new Blink Twice single coming next week that should satisfy those electro heads out there. And much more to come in 2023 most definitely. Cheers!

Mood Exhibit - Reflect

Hey music friends, this is my very first open collaboration. I've been meaning to to do one for a little while now but was waiting for a track to come along that has enough open space for additions but that can also kind of stand on it's own. I thought this one fit the bill. It's a minimal beat that I created using the Volca Drum with just a few melodic lines produced in Korg Gadget. One of the lines is accentuated with the Minilogue. I hope a few of you will be inspired to try working with it!

Feel free to use the elements in anyway you would like--  just the drums, just the melodies, or any combination. "This is a song that began as a bass line I came up with on my four string fretless over a looper. I shared it with Ken (K2 and the Three [and Four], Stephen (Tex Mex Shaman), and Tez (Llanpsych) through BandLan, which we're all on. Ken came up with some perfect drums, as always, to prop up the whole thing. Tez added some killer guitar solos, which you can hear more towards the end, with the ripping tone. Stephen then came in and added the talk box guitar and wah guitar that you hear playing the hook more towards the beginning. It's my first song ever featuring a talk box, and I'm amazed with the part he came up with. It's a major line against my minor bass line. I love how it sounds! Stephen also was kind enough to mix the beast for us, which turned out to be a herculean task. But he was up to it, and a fine job he did, too. It was an honor and a pleasure to work with these guys. We all hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it"
