‘Conscious Listening’ is a new podcast series by Pregnant Void record label that explores soundscapes born from the connection between deep ethereal music and the most advanced electronic musical experiments. Our next installment of the mix series was created by the extraordinary producer, DJ, painter, graphic designer, and the person behind Adhémar and half of Aucuba Replica, Clément Davout. 

We wanted a mix from Clément early on. His works are like instances of mastered calligraphy, emotionally rooted into the intuitive understanding of human cognition. His exquisite sense of style, meticulous production, recognizable sonic palette, and sensitivity to the smallest details make him one of the Delayed all-time favorites. It seems like everything he puts his mind on never disappoints.  

For this mix, Adhemar reworked all the tracks and did special edits to make it unique. Delicate with a flawless flow; opening up, yet introspective. It spotlights all his signature elements and is mesmerizing in a balance of engagement, relaxation, and unwinding. We fell in love with it right away and honestly think it is one of Adhémar’s finest creations. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!🌱

This summer, Monochrome is offering each month to one or several artists to discover their influences and inspirations through a forty-five minute to two hour recording. These three recordings will focus on Ambient, IDM and Deep Techno.

Artist biography :

Adhémar is a multidisciplinary artist, establishing his universe through music and plastic works. Constantly in search of the luminous quality of sounds, in a world made of shadows and lights, his music is closely linked to his plastic work.
This obsession with shadows leads him to think and create spaces, atmospheres that focus on the lightness and poetry of light. The idea of "narrative potential of music", allows to confront the psychological and philosophical journey with a particular report on what is alive and what surrounds us (whether it is the material world, immaterial, the fact that everything is in constant becoming). With a particular rigor for the transitions, whether in his own production or in his DJset, his universe is built little by little, according to the sound transformations.

Grant Aaron, founder of the long-running podcast, record label, and event series Mysteries of the Deep, has spent decades immersing himself in electronic music. His influences are far-reaching, and his identity as an artist resists categorization: he is an ambient, experimental, and deep techno DJ, live artist, and a core member in the band, Birds of Prey. 

As a DJ, Grant invokes and constructs narrative shapes from the nebulous ether of ambient and experimental music. He references kosmische tradition, synthesizer elegance from Detroit and the U.K., cold drone moods, and leftfield futurism from Asia and the Americas. He's performed at marquee venues throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, is a resident at the world-renowned Detroit party No Way Back, and has released mixes for Resident Advisor, Smoke Machine, 9128, Patterns of Perception, Sure Thing, Bright Patterns, Oslated,  Beyond/Below, INVEINS, Delayed, and Silent Season.
