Zillas on Acid make their Inside Out Records debut with an EP showered in hope for a better summer. “A Wonderful Time in a Terrible Club” is certain to become a favourite for the dancefloors, joined closely by “Not Really”, thanks to the latter’s addictive acid hook and vocals. The genius Fantastic Twins breaks from working on her own projects to morph “Wonderful Time in a Terrible Club” into a psychedelic, magical journey. “You You You You” has the more trademark Zillas hypnotic groove, with Black Merlin warping its vocals and bending the track into a darker, more ambient 10-minute re creation. We hope you enjoy this release that sees some of our favourite artists joining the label.

Inside Out Records launch their VA series “Outsiders”, with a collection comprising of 14 unique tracks by a collection of artists that are currently breaking boundaries with their creations. Joining us on this compilation include electrifying duo Zillas On Acid, magical mystic Steve Pepe, hypnotising Surgeon’s Girl, Italians A-Tweed and Marco Bonnini, Moscow’s Kolomensky, Barcelona’s Sau Poler, Malaysian talent Ed Dix, mind bending ID_UA, passion driven Justine Forever & Order 89/ Les Deux Control, all the way to Inside Out bosses Stevie R & Parisinos, and fellow Grecian’s Veslemes and Metaman; the sounds on display offer a broad spectrum within the realms of electronic music, but can equally be listened to from beginning to end.

Rome-based A-Tweed conjures a trademark hypnotic EP for Inside Out Records. Modular experimentation, mystical vocal samples, magical Tangier nights. Remixes courtesy of Scottish Highlands born CAIN and "Salon des Amateurs" resident Lucas Croon.

After Altamont release their debut album on Inside Out Records. Made up of Stavros Potamitis and Towdie Kamp, After Altamont’s music blends electronic production with live instrumentation, often throwing in unusual ethnic instruments, and combines elements of psychedelic rock, soulful dub, and dark-tinged dance music. 

The LP, An Animal Orchestra, is composed of seven tracks of atmospherically shifting sounds and sonic intrigue.‘ Scoring for Fools’ is a slow dub-heavy opener uplifted by the strings of a traditional Greek Tzouras. ‘K-Band’ sees Shawni’s sultry vocal underpinned by a variety of textures, crashes and bleeps before a bassline rumbles into view. The duo’s trippy drones and vocal on ‘Five Weeks In A Balloon’ is a nod to their trip-hop influences, while ‘Lost Little Girl’ is a gorgeously ethereal, stripped-back, acoustic number. After Altamont demonstrate their range when the beautiful soundscape of ‘ Yellow Circus’ is followed by the dark decent into the pulsating inferno of ‘Dante’. The album closes with a ten-minute exploration on ‘Three Men Down (And a Beautiful Sunset)’; beginning with a spaced out electric riff before morphing into a heady 4/4 beat.

An Animal Orchestra is set to be one of the most interesting records of the year, as After Altamont bring together a diverse mix of influences and sounds that sit happily together under one roof.

Words from the artist: Written all within Covid-19 UK lockdown period, this EP was for me a chance to capture, vent and direct my frustrations and observations. I wanted to try and use the surreal dystopian situation we find ourselves in, to play into each track. I think each one differs according to the way I was reacting to lockdown on the day I sat down to write. Isolate I wrote at the start of lockdown, a piece meant initially for a film or TV. Pipe Up I wrote a few weeks later, probably at peak cabin fever point. Thirds was more recent, just bottled up energy that was meant for a dance floor now closed.

There was something special about summer days in the city; no concept of a week day or a school night, a free pass to drink at any given moment. Perhaps it was because they were a rarity, you had to make the most of it while it lasts... 

Hot on the heels of his releases with Futureboogie Records and Lyon's Hard Fist, London-based producer and DJ Kincaid shows off another side of his production abilities for Inside Out Records. Bringing forth his influences in UK Techno and flaunting intricate and experimental techniques, the three tracks across his Pipe Up EP match tight drum programming and hypnotic vocal samples, and will be followed up by a remix EP in August featuring the likes of Kris Baha, Benedikt Frey and Stevie R & Parisinos.

Shoulder to shoulder with worms and dirt, the pipework burrowed deep underground, endlessly networking. In the damp, density of the earth all is still and silent. Not for long. Creatures creep. Plates shift. Water works. Blinkered darkness brings whole spectrums of sound and sense. One lonely clap from above can receive raptures of applause below.

Kincaid is continuing a frighteningly prolific string of releases with another on London’s Inside Out records, but this time he’s letting his friends do some of the leg work. It’s a remix EP, with Benedikt Frey, Stevie R & Parisinos and Kris Baha all chiming onto his track 'Pipe Up'. The British producer has already proven himself to be a fierce collaborator. His tendrils reach far and wide to artists as diverse as nu-tech house wizard Urulu aka Liquid Earth, Moscoman’s Disco Halal label and a collaboration with 80s synth pop legends (one of whom is Kincaid's father), Blancmange.

On this latest offering, Kris Baha probes deeper into the slower, sludgier regions with which Kincaid has recently aligned. He strangulates the original - a slick, snail’s-pace psychedelic meditation - into a proto-acid panic of caustic Belgian New Beat.

After his first release 'Danza Moderna' on Hivern Discs, Manuel Cascone (Steve Pepe's real name) has continued sending shockwaves in the experimental music scene with his album '2020' on Macadam Mambo, as well as a few other singles on key Hivern Discs compilations. His album 'Vivere in Diagonale' is raw, personal and honest, an album hard to describe in words, except maybe for how the compositions make you feel. An album experimental to the core, living in the margins, in the 'diagonals': Erotic (Vivere in Diagonale), playful (Oltraggiosa Musica), animalistic (Il Diavolo), mysterious (Marcia), tribal (Terra), hypnotic (Spezie), angelic (Sold) - and everything in between. The door is open to the beautiful mind and soul of Steve Pepe. Release date on the equinox, the beginning of Autumn, 22 September.

“I’ll have another”, he slurred, leaning like a toppled monument against the stained mahogany. As the bartender handed him the frothing jar of foggy brown fluid, the drinker’s eyes flickered asynchronously. His crotch was soggy, the stench forming an invisible force-field around his lump of a body.

Steve Pepe has a preference for album-length works. He is yet to release a 12” single, instead releasing LPs: one on John Talabot’s Hivern Discs in 2018, the other on Lyon’s Macadam Mambo label in January this year. His second album of 2020 comes on Inside Out records and is called Vivere in Diagonale: “Living Diagonally”. 

As you might expect, the sound is slanted. Its beats stomp with lead-heavy boots and damp-jeans dub echo, always leaning to the leftfield. Our premiere, 'Oltraggiosa Musica', sounds like slapped-bass jazz funk on 33rpm. In reverse. Played by a medieval Italian coven. With most tracks stretching to a seven minute meditation, the intoxicating effects of slow time - conjured to a heavily sedated rhythm - are revealed.

Inside Out Records present "Irina Remixed", based on Athens-based Metaman's original album "Irina", with the eponymous track featuring the mesmerising vocals of the mythical Lena Platonos. Rising star Echonomist follows his debut EP release on Innervisions with an underground, peak time re-creation of “Irina”, with unforgiving percussions and exhilarating arps. Stevie R & Parisinos explore slower, hypnotic rhythms and acid elements to accompany the transcendental story telling by Lena Platonos. Breakin' moves experiments with repetition and minimalism for his experimental interpretation of Battle of Perugia. Finally, Athens Computer Underground completes this release with a raw acid re-invention of Antigone's Stasimon.

Like a predator stalking its prey, she surveyed the room with her piercing blue eyes, looking for a potential suitor to hold her attentions for the evening. Her reputation preceded her but her beauty was so much so that it blinded them all to the hair raising tales told about her. How could one so graceful, one so poised and elegant be capable of such things? As far as they were concerned, if she wanted them, she was welcome to them.

Four years after the release of their acclaimed debut LP 'An Animal Orchestra' for Inside Out Records, producers Stavros Potamitis & Constantinos Parisinos AKA After Altamont call on the skills of several talented artists to reimagine the tracks from the release.
