Hello Meteor brings his aquatic sounds to the Southwest's wasteland prairies: contradictory lands of dry heat, electrical storms, cosmic thunder, torrential downpour, and flash floods. 

From the expansive deserts of Palm Springs and Joshua Tree, through the supernatural mountains of Arizona, into the wide-open red lands of New Mexico, and expanding to the vast flatlands, endless skies, and extreme weather of the plains.

This album combines downtempo and cozy chillwave with the cinematic sounds of ambient drone music.

The Sound Of Morning

This recording is a live sound journey that I performed on Sunday May, 26th 2019 at Ancient Oaks Farm in Westminster, MD.  This was performed and recorded underneath and between two 250 year old giant  Ancient Oak trees.  Their names we Grandmother and Grandfather.  The birds and wind blowing through the leaves you hear in the recording is from the treetops of these beautiful trees.  For this session I used a 54 " Chau Gong, a 40 " Nepalese Singing Bowl Gong, a 36 " Paiste Symphonic Gong,  a 36 " Chau Atlantis Gong, a 24 " Paiste Synodic Moon Gong and a middle sized set of Corinthian Chimes, as well as a variety of mallets.  Also the birds, the trees and the few sets of chimes within the Ancient Oaks branches.  Enjoy this moment of transcendence.

Kala Bhiarava Ashtakam is a sacred mantra.As per the traditional Hindu mythology the hymn illustrates the personality of Kala Bhairava of Kashi (also known as Bhairava), the God of Time(kala).
The first stanza is a salutations to Sri Kala Bhairava the supreme lord of Kasi. His Lotus feet are served by Indra, The king of the devas and the great one who wears snake as his sacrificial thread (a cord worn by the Dvija's hanging from their left shoulder and goes below the right shoulder) and a moon on his head. He is extremely compassionate and is praised by Sage Narada and other Yogis, who also is a Digambara (remains naked).
The second stanza is a salutations to Sri Kala Bharaiva who is the supreme Lord of the city of Kasi, who has the brilliance of a million suns, who rescues us from the ocean of worldly existence and who is Supreme, Who has a blue throat, who bestows us with worldly prosperities, which we wish for, and who has three eyes, who is death unto death itself, whose eyes are like a pair of lotus flowers, whose spear supports the three worlds like an axle ( axis) around which they rotate, and who is imperishable.

The fourth release on Valentino Mora’s label, IDO, comes from a fresh, young French producer, Olorun. Olorun began making dark, atmospheric techno as Abrial, releasing 3 EPs under this guise, before directing his focus to explore the textured, minimal, and ambient musical aspects that have always fascinated him. As his approach became more contemplative, he began exploring different moods and a “sweetness and a kind of purity in music.” Through stepping back to examine the subtlety of texture, Olorun’s attention to natural landscapes increased. This encouraged him to name his new, more sensitive project ‘Olorun’; a personification of the natural elements in Santeria’s religion.

Considering Olorun’s affinity with the the natural landscape, it is understandable how the graphic work of Atif Akin on Moruroa’s Crack would provide the inspiration behind the productions that would become Moruroa EP. Conflicting emotions arise when considering the beauty, as well as the destruction, of Moruroa’s Crack, a site devastated by nuclear tests during the cold war. Olorun responded to these feelings through his interpretation of a “journey through the different islands of the archipelago.” Olorun invites the listener to reflect on the always conflicting relationship between humans and their environment.

Moruroa EP is an abstract research characterised by textured layers that form a hybrid construction between organic percussions and atmospheres, and synthesised sounds that remind the listener of humanity’s - often destructive - entanglement with nature. The first track of the A side, Yuki, is a mystical, experimental piece layered with tribal percussions that evoke the Pacific landscape while hints of uncertain mechanical sounds question humans use of nuclear testing in this peaceful environment. The deep and hypnotic atmosphere in Kodo is likely to induce an euphoric, meditative state on the dance-floor. On the B side, Moruroa is also one for the dance floor; a downtempo cut, with deep grooves and atmospheres that will transport the listener directly to the lush forests of the titles namesake. The final track, Tuamotu begins with indistinct voices, hinting perhaps at the secrecy behind the atomic tests at Moruroa. Hopeful drones coupled with soft, expectant percussions, elicit an air of mystery that leaves the listener desiring. Overall, Moruroa EP, has a captivating and intriguing energy that maintains the deep, meditative and spiritual identity IDO has carved for itself.
