Would that I could drift above the clouds;

The fingers of green and blue.

To watch as the swarm of stars
Flies across boundless space.

Time stands still;
Eternity becomes a single moment.
All that ever was, is, or will be
Is placed in the palm of my hand.
A flickering flame,
The breath of life.
The light of countless souls,
Their stories known only to me.

And then, to wake;
To see the blue of the ceiling above my bed;
To know that it was never real.
To feel the chill of early morning,
As the first rays of sun peek through my window.
