The UK-based duo, comprised of Paul Harris and Steve Smith, blesses the classic '80s song with a scintillating, dancefloor-ready version. Steve wails about a casual encounter, while a stabbing chord progression flirts with the original synth-driven riff. The result is a succulent slice of four-four paradise.

Wonderwheel Recordings is very proud to present the long awaited debut album Bennu by Queens, NY based produced Thor Partridge, aka Thornato.  Building up a name for himself over a number of years as a proficient and in-demand remixer, Thor’s breakout tune “Gaita Gaita” has been sampled thousands of times by producers all over the world, and has become a certified hit record in South America. A string of remixes and a couple of rare song releases later, Thor’s groundbreaking Things Will Change EP was released via Wonderwheel in 2016 garnering massive buzz and record sales, resulting in a European tour that summer, and a Boiler Room performance in the fall.

“Rhinoceros”  is Thor's first single from the Bennu album, and was a perfect fit for an updated Dancehall gem of a 7”. The OG sits on the A side, with it’s massive bass driven energy and killer performance from veteran chat master Gappy Ranks, while on the B Side, Montreal’s Poirier (Nice Up!, Ninja Tune) delivers an absolutely stomping  stripped down dembow remix with speaker cabinet shattering bass, and muted dub effects. Not likely to leave the 7” box of selectors all over the world for quite some time!

A work 12 months in the making, Adam Beyer continues his exciting series of collaborative EPs, teaming up with heavy-hitters Pig&Dan for an multi-faceted four-tracker.

Chances are up if you spied Adam Beyer in an airport departure lounge over the past 12 months, he’d have his head buried in his laptop, immersed in creating sound sketches. A long-time fan of collaborations, the Drumcode chief has been on an inspiring streak of form lately, teaming up with the likes of Mark Reeve, Dense & Pika and now Pig&Dan. The results have been compelling, to say the least. 

In trademark perfectionist Beyer style, the title track ‘Capsule’ – a shimmering slice of techno - involved “around 15 different versions” the track rigorously road tested by the Swede and featured in episodes of Drumcode Radio to test dancefloor reactions, before finally getting the sign off.  ‘In Love’ is a big room techno groover, driven by crisp drums and the kind of evocative vocal effect that’ll have hairs standing on ends. ‘Atmosfear’ is true to its name, centered on a menacing synth line and gritty percussion, its deep kicks and subterranean bass combining superbly to create a heady dancefloor brew. ‘We Are E’ is propelled by a catchy synth hook and a classic call-to-arms vocal, which tips its cap to the artists’ shared love of classic UK rave.

One of the most interesting acts that's released regularly via трип​ though is PTU, a duo comprising of the USSR-born Alina Izolenta and Kamil Ea. 'A Broken Clock Is Right Twice A Day' is their latest EP and the seven-track odyssey touches upon all aspects of their production set.

We've got the first play of 'Yes', a high-octane, frantic techno jam, one that twists and turns like a demonic runaway train. It's intense and should be approached with caution, but also one that typifies just how diverse and bold трип​ is as a record label.

​Busy P returns to his Ed Banger Records imprint with ‘Genie’, a synth laden collaboration with Mayer Hawthorne that’s accompanied by a dancefloor focused remix by London based producer KDA.

By increasing the energy of the original, KDA delivers a peak-time house track that highlights the vocal hook of Mayer Hawthorne while keeping the soulful essence of Busy P’s original alive.

It’s been two years since Busy P released on his label following ‘Gipsy Life’. The return is a prime example of the former Daft Punk manager’s distinct style. The release also comes with a remix by Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard and an experimental version by Reckonwrong.

Look for Busy P’s ‘Genie (KDA Remix)’ be released March 31.
