'I'm really impressed with the Jonas Rathman remix of “Blondes”; it manages to be delicate and powerful at the same time, a really smart version of my song, subtle and emotional and exceptionally well produced.’ 

Jonas himself stated “I was so happy when Tiga asked me to remix ’Blondes Have More Fun’! I love the original and I felt that the vocals were perfect to work with. I didn’t have too long to turn it around in between touring! But it all came together so quickly and I’m super happy with the way it came out. A new Chapter is upon us, and with it Luis Leon returns to the fold for Chapter 24 to deliver four musical pieces of the highest order.

Luis’ outspoken sound with carefully crafted productions, poised basslines and striking synths is once again on show in a concept EP built around the theme of space.

Opening things up, 'Eta Carinae' burns brightly. An organic groove underpins exploratory synths which echo into the void.

‘Betelgeuse’ follows and lives up to expectations, a massive, more driving track which hits home hard on the dancefloor over its eleven minutes.

A moment of respite is offered by ‘Relativität’, its languid groove striking a pause in space and time, before the eponymous ‘Schwerkraft’ closes the EP with its beguiling, atmospheric broken beat. 

All in all, four stories in sound which offer up a treat of cosmic proportions.

Released on Friday 4th November.

Fur Coat return to Crosstown Rebels - the label that launched and empowered them to grow into the major techno force we know today, with their ’Numbers EP, featuring a remix from US native Vin Sol. This is music that keeps you guessing. Initially it appears dark and forceful, and suddenly a sound appears that results in a smile, a warm feeling that only the highest level of production can deliver.

Fur Coat’s schedule is unrelenting. The last couple of months involving a standout set at DGTL Festival, releasing on Watergate Records, remixing Nicole Moudaber & Skin on Mood Records, combined with numerous festival appearances over the Summer. Resident of the popular night Club Lonely in San Francisco, Vin Sol, founded an imprint with the same title earlier this year. A self confessed lover of the drum machine and regularly collaborating with Matrixxman, Sol has previously released on Soo Wavey, Clone Jack for Daze and Delft among others.

A transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self. Our next excursion brings us to the idea of ‘Nirvana’. Self described as psychedelic techno, Franz Alice Stern leads the release with a trance-like, meditative track. 

Miss Melera makes her Polymath debut with a deep and melancholic trip. With important releases on Chapter 24 Records, and Berlin’s Traum Schallplatten, we felt Nirvana was a fitting theme for the artist. As uplifting as it is dark, the track builds momentum through an infectious groove. A break makes space for new musical ideas, until a final climax ends in a melodic release.

Marseille duo, Fathers, take a different approach. Gentle melodies flitter in and out of the ear adding to the refreshing mood.

2020 Midnight Visions is a label brought to you by 2020Vision with the A&amp;R being handled by somethinksounds Kazim Kazim Kazim. 
The label will strive to bring forward-thinking dance music with a strong visual focus from its bases of Berlin and London.
The inaugural release is brought to you by young, Brixton native Photomachine, it’s only his second EP release, but you’d think he’d spent years conquering dusty old machines when you hear the tracks on the ‘On U EP’.
The tracks drip with electrofunk, energy and style.  He cuts up choice vocals to great effect over his bumpy proto-house grooves that would sound equally at home at the Hacienda circa 1987, or a dirty Dalston basement next weekend.  Drafted in on remix duties is Funkineven, a kindred spirit to Photomachine who grabs what he likes from house music’s past and feeds it through his personal blender, he rips apart ‘On U’ and starts it again as a jackin house workout that recalls Maurice Fulton at his most unhinged.
This Photomachine EP is a superb statement of intent from the new label who will follow it up shortly with another killer from Ossie.
