The What You Sample / I Eat Beats EP is Billy Kenny’s first EP on his own co-run imprint, This Ain’t Bristol. Already gaining huge support from all across the board, these two sweetened and fruit-flavoured peak time bangers are accompanied by a juicy remix by non other than Dirtybird’s Ardalan. 

What You Sample’s kit shuffles it’s way into a hypnotic masquerade of melodic 808’s, calming the listener before hitting with some serious grit! This track shows off one of the deadliest reese basses known to mankind like it’s nothing, while keeping it’s cool in-between, creating a seesaw of volume and atmosphere.
 
A concerto of violins, gangster leads and talking warps are the main ingredients that “I Eat Beats” consists of. The epic orchestral break reverbs its way into the abyss and prepares you for the drops - yes, there's a few and they switch up constantly! We think it would do exactly what it said on the tin if it wasn’t a track in your playlist. 

Ardalan’s approach to I Eat Beats introduces even more strings than the original, one hell of a thumping kick and a piercing saw bass enough to rip the kevlar from a speaker cone! Speaking of Bass with a capital B, track two on this EP is delivered by Dutch DJ Bart B More, dropping catchy break beats over straight up house music, heavy on the bass and building one climax above the other - you’ll be going Down with this! Following this rollercoaster it’s Kyle Watson feat. Pop Art taking things deeper again, with a subtle groove, delayed effects and mesmerizing vocal breakdown. It’s a brilliant deep house tune, just like this full EP says a lot on all the sounds where dance music is going - Heldeep showing you where it’s at!

Kyle Watson, the South African producer who has been wrecking the dancefloor like a one-man demolition crew, swings back around for round two with This Ain’t Bristol. After absolutely crushing it with his Watermelons / Fly With Me EP from last year, he brings the same wobbly edge on his second appearance, 'Rhinoceros,' a from-the-wild two-tracker that’s sure to rattle a few cages. Living on the flip is “The Cone,” which sees Watson getting phenomenally wavy with oscillating basslines that slink and slide beneath silky-smooth arpeggs and a seemingly satisfied-to-the-core vocal sample.

Dropping later this month on Stanton Warriors’ imprint Punks Music, ‘Lies’ is the debut collaboration between Dallas producer Left/Right and jACQ, packed with our Debut Transmission today, this killer remix from Billy Kenny and already picking up support from AC Slater, Claude VonStroke, Orbital Kry Wolf and Zinc.

Hailing from Dallas, Chris Lund aka Left/Right is an industry veteran with more than 15 years working as DJ, producer and promoter, with support for his music from a diverse range of artists including The Crystal Method, Massive Attack, My Nu Leng and Zed’s Dead. On ‘Lies’ he teams up with jACQ, a vocalist who has released music on some of the world’s largest and successful dance labels under various aliases, and has ghostwritten for a number of Grammy-winning and platinum-selling artists.

‘Lies’ opens with an atmospherically ominous loop, building towards the full vocal before dropping into growling broken beats and razor sharp percussion: a seething maelstrom of dark dance music that completely envelopes the senses.

On the remix, This Ain’t Bristol’s Billy Kenny continues his sensational run of form with a shuffling, bass heavy house cut that pummels its way into your subconscious, check it out below...
