The follow up EP to Yellow Claw’s epic Jeffree’s debut, Amsterdam Twerk Music cleans up your definition of “dirty” just so they can strip it down to booty claps and bass rolls. The first track, “DJ Turn It Up” is a subtle dance floor anthem reminiscent of the heavy bass from your nostalgic middle school days of grinding to timeless hip-hop anthems.

On the second track, Yellow Claw teams up with Tropkillaz and The Kemist to bring us “Assets,” a track that twists its vocals in a way that winds through the most bass-hungry, whimsical quarter of your imagination. “P*$$YRICH feat. Adje” then transports you deeper into Yellow Claw’s bass dungeon, leaving its victims up against the walls bumping and grinding till sunrise.

Amsterdam Twerk Music concludes with “Slow Down”, an addictive baseline paired with a jock-jams reminiscent hook. Yellow Claw are the tastemakers of guilty pleasure. But lets be honest… there’s no guilt attached to the obsession.

DJ Snake x Yellow Claw x Spanker -  Slow Down

Hakim Murphy and Ike Release are amongst a number of current US producers (Amir Alexander, Joey Anderson, DJ Spider to name but three) whose music evokes the spirit of house and techno's celebrated progenitors, whilst not being bound by attempts to recreate it. Close friends and noted producers in their own right, since aligning their creative processes under the Innerspace Halflife project in late 2011, Murphy and Release have evidently struck on a rich seam of material that's appeared across a multitude of labels.

Recorded output from the Innerspace Halflife project first appeared early last year with EPs on the Machining Dreams and Episodes imprints run by Murphy and Release respectively, and the critical reception afforded to those releases opened the project up to working with an increasingly diverse array of labels. Appearing on Aroy Dee's M>O>S Recordings was a logical step (especially given Release's own history with the Dutch label) but Innerspace Halflife have also added Skudge White to their armoury as well as flirting with French labels Latency and Syncrophone.

Despite this impressive discography, Innerspace Halflife was created first and foremost as a means for Murphy and Release to perform live together, and it's via this medium that the pair agreed to record a mix for Juno Plus, laying down an hour's worth of "live arrangements of new tracks from our collab in between/layered over rather improvised drum machine & synth workouts". Rawness is a quality that gets thrown around a lot these days when describing house music, but for Innerspace Halflife this means much more than simply the usage of hardware, it's also the ideas and spontaneity included in the time between hitting record and stop on whatever equipment is used. The pair were kind enough to discuss the project's inception, the methods used and their plans for the future over email.

Off the back of another incredible summer that saw 'Cool You Off', 'Breathin' and 'Make Me Feel Good' become staples in the Beatport chart, EDX looks set to finish the year with the same gusto as he started with his latest EP, 'Collateral Effects', coming through on Enormous Tunes on 1st December. 

With his progressive sound specifically designed to make people smile, the two-track EP delivers some of EDX's signature melody work that'll instantly brighten up the dance floor. Its title track 'Collateral Effects' features an elevating, nu-disco beat that's layered with soft male vocals and hints of string and percussion work, whilst the B side named 'Empathy' takes things deeper with a dominating kick drum - and a great demonstration of Maurizio Colella, aka EDX's long-standing dedication to the scene.

After gracing the bill alongside Avicii and Laidback Luke at Ibiza's coveted open air club Ushuaia bcd in August, EDX is currently undergoing a massive tour of North America; proving that 2014 has been another stellar year for the Swiss. Besides his notable release success, EDX continues to head up his weekly 'No Xcuses' global radio show which presents the works of both popular and up-and-coming house producers' from around the world - and he's also a member of up and coming Swiss collective Helvetic Nerds. 

With an official music video for 'Make Me Feel Good' on the horizon and a remix of Sandy Rivera's BANG! coming through on Ultra Records, 'Collateral Effects' is a perfect way to round off the year and will see you right through the winter months.

First up is Patrick Siech with the moody, prowling 'Return'. "I've been playing this for a couple of months now" says Gregor. "Its one of those tracks that really lifts the floor if you drop it at the right time."  

Maxime Dangles makes a much anticipated return to the label with 'BBA'. "I'm so happy to have Maxime back on the label. His Lyoc track has been a real highlight of our entire catalogue and i'm a real fan of his amazing music. With BBA he's delivered once again.

"  Following up their mighty Taurus single from earlier this year, Gregor and Petar Dundov have returned to the studio to create yet another dancefloor gem. Elegant and anthemic, 'Cosmic Serpent' is everything we've come to expect from the pair. "Personally I don't believe in talking too much about my own music. So i'll leave it to you… enjoy."   

The collection is closed by a track that's actually been a regular opener for Gregor's own sets, Per Hammar's 'Cloaker'. "It's all about the menacing intro on this new number from Per and thats why its become a favourite for me."

"Explosion" is a powerful hybridized bomb of bass that manages to make dancers both jack AND freak. How is that possible? Enter the power of Jubilee. That kick drum might be referencing UK club sounds but those 808's are all Miami. What if Pitbull went to Eskimo Dance in London in 2003? He might have asked for a track like "Explosion," but no one would have known how to properly execute. Jubilee knows, though.

Referential but never retro, “Jealous" conjures up images of a DJ mid-blend during a rave on the beach, transitioning from Miami Bass into Freestyle, or a white label from Bow. Close your eyes, imagine palm trees and flamingos getting down under a disco ball, while Debbie Deb just stands in the corner, nodding approvingly.
