Last year our bredrin James mentioned he was planning a studio session with Linval Thompson in Kingston. I didn't know Linval was still recording and asked if he would be willing to do some work for Akashic. James said send some rhythms and it turned out there was one King Alpha rhythm that Linval liked. We reasoned about the rhythm and decided that 'Jah is the Conqueror' could sound good on it. They worked hard in the studio and everyone was pleased with the results. The original rhythm got lost in a hard drive crash and it took some months to build a new one. Here is a sample of the results - I am beside myself with the tremendous response so far. Linval's voice is still as sweet and strong as ever.
