Seattle/San Francisco based Techno label, From 0-1 issue "Time Dilation", a 12" vinyl/digital EP by label director, and co-owner Milkplant (Justin Pennell) of the San Francisco Bay Area.  Andrei Morant and From 0-1 co-owner Sone join in as remixers.  Including an endless groove and two locked grooves, this piece of vinyl is meant to be as utilitarian for the vinyl DJ as possible.  “Dimension 4” starts off the EP with a classic big room percussive Techno vibe, closing in an endless groove.  Following is Andrei Morant's absolutely punishing treatment of Dimension 4, a tearing lead, and searing percussion point to the main room.  Two locked grooves, one percussive, the other synth based close out side '0'.  On the flip side, ‘1’,  Milkplant's “Spherical” reps a tight future-retro vibe; elements of old Motor City Techno dominate with a bit of grit to keep it dirty.  Sone dials in a perfect toned down, more expansive, and hypnotic interpretation of Spherical showcasing slowly evolving filters and modulation fit for the wee hours of the morning.  “Plasmic” is included as a digital extra in this release a tough, noisy, and a little tripped out with a bit of swing to keep them on the floor.

Thick as Thieves is a fundraiser to help rebuild from the loss we had this past October; During our travels to Europe we were robbed of our production laptops and hard drives as well as a passport and some other valuable belongings. As a result we lost all the music we had ever written, a few scheduled releases and not to mention all the great music by other producers. In a time where it felt like we lost it all we were able to gather a rather large group of talented friends who were more than willing to contribute to the cause. We couldn't be more grateful for the support and hope you enjoy our very first VA compilation.

We here at Second State are thrilled to bring you our new concept entitled HUB. While most labels these days are doing various artists releases to showcase the overall talent on their label, we thought it would be better suited for both our listeners and ourselves to break the mold and bring you a series of true collaborations. Each HUB release will feature a single artist teaming up with others from the Second State family to create an EP of authentic musical compromises. A place where multiple minds find a harmony somewhere outside their own identity and each collaboration conceives a genuinely unique artifact. With this, there is no one we would rather have kick off the series than the man behind the massive EPs; 'Throwl' and 'Doch', Stephan Hinz with HUB One!

Of course it would only be right to kick off the first track of the first HUB One way. An alliance with, Pan-Pot. "Tension' is a heavy number with just a few key elements, it's a slow lurking journey through a dark forest at night. As each bush and branch is pushed aside and every step inches closer to a destination unknown, the pressure builds. Soon, without knowing, you are in the depths of a jungle with no way back and only one decision. Keep going.
