We are so excited for our newest guest mix, Institution 017: Lucas Rossi !

Lucas Rossi is a DJ/producer from Cordoba, Argentina. First influenced by the house and trance of the early 2000’s, he eventually moved towards the progressive house sounds of artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha and Digweed, amongst others.

Rossi is now one of Argentina’s preeminent progressive house artists. Indeed, he has shared the stage with the likes of Henry Saiz, Nick Varon, Jimmy van M, Lonya, Cid Inc, Brian Cid, Robert Babycz, Cubicolor, Eelke Kleijn, Dmitry Molosh, amongst many others. 

Currently, Lucas Rossi is label manager at Fernando Ferreyra’s label Dreamers. He has produced on labels such as Black Hole Recordings, The Soundgarden, Dreamers, Particles, and Soundteller, and has gained support from some of the biggest names in the world of progressive house.

In addition to his busy DJ and production career, Lucas has a monthly radio show called “Different Minds” on the ever popular Frisky Radio.

We are honoured that Lucas has curated this journey for us. We are sure you’ll enjoy it as much as we do!

Biografia
Alex Efe, nació en Montevideo, Uruguay. Su conexión con la música comenzó en su temprana
juventud, desde entonces, ha sido apasionado y dedicado a ello.
Él ha creado su propio estilo, que es reconocido por ser sobrio, refinado y versátil, cautivando
la atención de los oyentes exigentes con sus sesiones inmersivas e hipnóticas. Sus influencias
provienen   de   artistas   contemporáneos   como   Vangelis,   Jean-Michel   Jarre,   Pink   Floyd,
Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode; más la influencia de los Dj's como John Digweed, Sasha, Nick
Warren y Hernán Cattaneo.
En su trayectoria, ha participado en Varios clubs, festivales y eventos importantes de la escena
uruguaya   junto   a   Artistas   cómo   Nick   Muir   (Uk),   Marcelo   Vasami,   Ricky   Ryan,   Simon
Vuarambon, Marcelo Castelli, Nattz, Leandro Di, Logiztik Sounds, Bruno Gervais (Fr) entre
otros.
  Actualmente lleva adelante Clubbing Mvd & Progressive House Uruguay junto a Diego
Berrondo, con la participación de nuevos Dj/Prod.  emergentes de la escena nacional.
Sus Producciones han tenido el soporte de Hernán Cattaneo, Soundexile, Graziano Rafa,

Born in Newcastle in the North of England, a place steeped in dance music heritage, JOBE was initiated into the club scene at an early age.Despite ‘getting involved’ most weekends, and surrounding himself with other music heads, it wasn’t until his close friend was given turntables for Christmas that he realised he wanted to embark on a career in music.

Many years later, with countless hours of vinyl hunting under his belt, he was DJing in the local bars and clubs of Leicester where he attended university. Despite enjoying his years in Leicester, recognising it as the place he truly evolved musically, he longed for more and decided to take the right steps to progress further in the scene.

He wanted to pursue the full time career, however he realised that the scene had evolved over recent years, and in order to play at the more prestigious venues it was vital to have a strong output as a producer, as well as a DJ.However at this point, he had never even considered music production, but recognised it as the most pivotal step to becoming a successful DJ. So he made the bold decision, which seemed counterintuitive at the time, to step back from the decks and spend the next few years learning music production.

After 3 years of self tuition, the biggest change came when he took an Ableton course online. Something seemed to click. He began to get recognition for his music, something he had longed for for many years.Having spent the last few years making music, record labels began to show interest, and the next few months saw successful releases on the likes of Electronque Digital, SinQ Records and Sleazy Deep. He started working with the Underground Agency, alongside Finnebassen, Demarzo, Raffa FL, Dale Howard and Him_Self_Her. 

It was through the Underground Agency that he was finally given the opportunity to DJ globally.Having reached #2 in the NuDisco charts with ‘The Jam’, and with successful releases on Underground Audio, Runnin Wild, Akbal Music and Connaisseur Recordings, 2013 is set to be a pivotal year where he aims to firmly establish himself in the underground house music scene. Despite producing mainly within the realms of house music, when DJ’ing he is totally unconcerned with the constraints of genre and entirely fixated on uncovering music that is both timeless and forward-thinking.

The Columbian artist Kamilo Sanclemente had his debut with us two years before with his track 'Azure'. A deep and melodic track with a wooden melody. His second release with us 'Dhama' was together with Juan Pablo Torrez eight month ago. And two weeks ago he came back to us with 'Wakefulness', a powerful and deep track with trippy vocals and a catchy melody perfect as a dancefloor filler. 
We invited him for our mixtape series and he delivered a fine mix, which is a great reflection to his releases. We are happy to have him with us, so please enjoy listening to his exclusive mix for our mixtape series.
