LA veteran techno producer, AXKAN, lands his new full-length album on SONIC GROOVE. Inspired by a wave of torturous dreams during the pandemic, AXKAN dedicated his isolation time to curate the sound of this 12-track LP, NIGHTMARES.

Dropping his signature soundtrack of angst fueled broken beat industrialized techno, AXKAN further displays his sophisticated sound architecture by delving into darker melancholic, experimental and rhythmic noise territories. Add three collaboration pieces featuring long-time friends ORPHX, UVB and AYARCANA and we have a well rounded album of monstrous proportions.

In a world where every word holds consequences and every silence bears weight, the latter cannot be a privilege. As the world witnesses the horrors of war and its devastating impact on innocent lives, it's imperative to raise our voices against injustice wherever it occurs. It is our duty, especially being artists, to raise consciousness and awareness, challenge norms and narratives. We cannot allow ourselves to overlook the ongoing crisis in Palestine. This is not merely a matter of political stance; it's a test of our humanity. If we fail to speak out against the slaughter of innocent people and the genocide unfolding in Palestine, we fail on fundamental levels of compassion and justice. 
It's not about political affiliations; it's about standing on the righteous side and feeling the pulse of what's truly just. 
With the power of technology, we are constantly connected to the realities of conflict, yet to stay silence in the face of such atrocities is deadly. 
For that reason we brought 61 artists together to break this silence and stand in solidarity with Palestine, especially the innocent children. 
In the haunting echoes of silence, where cries for help are drowned by the thunder of war, our music becomes a beacon of hope, piercing through the darkness to remind the world of its humanity. 
Each beat, each note is a testament to resilience, a defiance against the oppressors, a symphony of solidarity resonating across borders. 
In the tapestry of chaos, our voices rise like a crescendo, demanding justice, demanding freedom and peace, demanding that the world listen and act. 

Techno, Noise, EBM, punk, and experimental music—genres rooted in the ethos of creating alternate societies and challenging terrestrial limitations—have always championed freedom of expression. Yet, the contemporary landscape feels tainted by commodification, censorship, and the silencing of marginalized voices. This betrayal of the essence cannot be tolerated. 

Our music is a rebellion, a revolution of sound, breaking chains of apathy and indifference, igniting flames of empathy and action.We are not just musicians; we are storytellers of the silenced, architects of dreams, weaving melodies of resistance and resilience. 

Solidarity must be a foundational principle within our (sub-)culture. True freedom can only be achieved when all are liberated. Music, as a universal language, transcends boundaries and reminds us that every life is sacred.

We're thrilled to announce our upcoming charity project, VA 002 compilation, dedicated to supporting Palestinian children relief and medical aid. This initiative brings together 61 unique tracks from a diverse range of artists. Each track serves as a powerful statement, amplifying the voices of the oppressed and advocating for a meaningful cause. 

Through the universal language of music, our compilation project aims to raise awareness and provide vital support to Palestinian children in need. By featuring such a broad spectrum of artists and musical styles, we hope to engage a wide audience and inspire action towards positive change.

‘Cutting Thighs’ is an aggressive play on words of the classical idiom ‘Cut Ties (with
someone)’ and refers to the darker side of losing a long-standing relationship.
The album makes use of distorted drums and unique synths blended with recorded foley.
Several rooms made from recorded impulse responses from real locations around my
home island helped add a personal touch into this album.
The aim was to create a digital head-trip without conforming to a specific style.

In 2014 the Swiss musician and producer Samuel Savenberg released his first EP under the moniker S S S S. His music can be called techno only as a last resort. It has appeared on Haunter Records, aufnahme+wiedergabe, and LUX Records consistently defying clear-cut classification. Tracks propelled forward by industrial and broken beats find themselves alongside (dis)quiet pieces based on melodies.
