Paul C & Paolo Martini, both active since the 1990s, joined forces in 2010 and have since appeared on the likes of Hot Creations, Moon Harbour, Elrow, Get Physical, Saved and Snatch! amongst others. Picking up support for their productions from the likes of Marco Carola, Matthias Tanzmann, Paco Osuna, Steve Lawler, and of course Jamie Jones, the pair now return to Hottrax with three great productions. 

Across the release, the duo’s knack for crafting groove-led and low-end heavy house tracks is plain to see. The title track ‘Whew’ leads with wonky basslines and trippy percussion under vocal snippets for a rousing start, followed by the swinging, propulsive, and vocal-tinged ‘Killer Loop’. ‘Shinids’ closes out proceedings with laser-esque FX and grinding bass under rocking drums to round out a striking release from the pair.

Ibizan duo the Mambo Brothers make their debut on longtime friend Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records and deliver an EP of two incredible floor fillers which have already been doing the rounds this summer.
First up is “Super 800” which dominates with its rolling bass line and rising synths panning across the spectrum, teasing the listener as it builds with intelligent programming.
“Eso Es” is equally as powerful where tribal drums work alongside disco loops and hooky vocals, sealing off a release which will be heard for months to come.

Carl Cox is an industry figurehead whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell.

A German living in Portugal, the new Intec release is from Sidney Charles who has only been releasing music since 2011, but in that time built up a back catalogue including music signed to Truesoul, Moon Harbour, Hot Creations, Relief, 8Bit and Defected.

Sidney Charles eclectic sound is often focused towards house music, but as a skilled producer, he also incorporated elements of techno when he wants to toughen things up a bit, and his new release on Intec is a fine example of this.

Having originally started his career as a DJ, Sidney Charles is also a highly sought after club spinner, with a gig list that in the coming months will see him play everywhere from the Netherlands to Malta.

This is Sidney's second solo release on Intec having last appeared on the label in 2016, and fans will be pleased to know his follow up has been well worth the wait.

The EP opens with the original mix of Get Together that at first sounds like a house groove with a rolling bassline and tight percussion, but its heavy kick drum and looping rhythms along with the deep synth stabs, move it over to the deep techno category. The perfect crossover tool, its moody sound and low end energy will no doubt make it a popular DJs choice for switching up the style of a set.

Second on the release is Dub Trap, which takes us down a deeper path with jazzy chords that add to the jacking groove. Where the first track incorporates elements of techno, this track is very much the sound Sidney Charles is known for. Chic and full of character, this tech house cut is something that some might not expect from Intec, but reminds us of Carl Cox's eclectic taste when it comes to playing and signing music.

This new Intec release is from Many Reasons, which is the techno alias of Italian duo Angelo Manicone and Michele Colombo, who had previously been known under the names of MiniCoolBoyz.

Under their various aliases they have featured music on a huge range of labels including Phobiq, Break New Soil, Minus, 100%% Pure, Terminal M, Octopus Black, and their own Amazing Records.

Since their first release in 2008, the pair have been one of Italys most prominent techno acts, and have played all over the world including clubs like Watergate in Berlin, plus festivals like Balaton Sound in Hungary.

Many Reasons last release on Intec in September 2017 picked up support from the likes of Ambivalent, Alan Fitzpatrick, Wehbba plus Lee Van Dowski, and their much anticipated follow up brings stylish techno with a delicate sound design.

First up is Obsessed and its namesake vocals, which sits over the stripped back groove consisting of mechanical hi-hats and rippling synths. The track has a very intimate vibe with whispered textures, but its full bodied sound more than fills the speakers, and its pounding bottom end is a certified party starter.

The second track Rawphoria lifts it up a gear with a booming kick drum leading the slow building tension of the hypnotic background textures. The euphoric lead synth takes centre stage making this an understated and intricate cut of dancefloor focused techno with uplifting elements that complement its otherwise dark atmosphere.
