Techno Mixing Series | Mixing Carl Cox

So this one is based on an actual dream I had.  I was in England at a rave in a field circa 1993.  The main dance floor was in a big circus tent.  The time I had this dream I didn't actually know that there were raves in England held in circus tents.  I'm simply a fan of traveling fun fair machines and so that's how that came about in my dream I think.  Outside the tent there were venders selling HO Scale amusement ride models and beyond that there was a trailer for a pirate radio station broadcasting the audio of the event over the airwaves illegally.  The main tent I heard some really trippy tunes that I actually remembered.  Lots of big broad dark keyboard chords and spastic chipmonks.

Much later on I discovered a record store in NYC called Breakbeat Science.  It was my first ever visit there and I ended up with three records.  SMF "Make the Music" on Rugged Vinyl, Sound of the Future "The Warning" and a Ron Wells track on Basement called TBN 93.  When I got home to listen it occurred to me.... These were the tracks I dreampt about!  I was like ..... holy crap!!!!

I was just tooling around with my records at this later time in 2010 when I thought, why not recreate the mix I heard in my dream between SMF "Make the music" and "The Warning", but then base a whole set around that.  By that time I had enough weird and twisted 1993 vinyl to really fill it out well, So I did.

To this day I think that dream wasn't so much a dream but something that likely happened IRL.  However probably minus the table vender selling model amusement rides but then again, you never know, the model amusement ride scene in England is pretty substantial as seen by Slothy Vlogs on youtube.

Record collector / bedroom DJ from New Jersey, USA.  I'm a Devoted Junglist but not a Vorta clone who bows to the founders.  I've been listening to 'Ardkore jungle since 1993 but didn't start collecting till 1994.

I bought the "pro" subscription for a year just to get my older mixes out there as so many "fans" have complained they don't like downloading my stuff on house-mixes.

BTW: I'm not interested in "Like Farms" so please stop spamming my channel with false likes and ads, I will block spammers.

Music of Interest is exactly how it sounds. I love a variety of music, and enjoy mixing it up between trance, progressive, house, and some good ol' tech. So what I am digging at the moment becomes a mix to share with MOI. 

Wednesday Rewind is a revisit to past mixes to show them some love.

Emanuel Pinho, mais conhecido como Faixo, nasceu em 1994 na cidade de Aveiro, Portugal. O seu interesse pelo Djing e pela Produção Musical iniciou-se em 2010, derivado da sua primeira presença num evento noturno. Desde logo procurou informar-se sobre as práticas da música eletrónica, tendo sido influenciado por vários géneros, como é o caso do Afro House, House Music e o Techno. Com 16 anos, depois de ter o seu primeiro reconhecimento local e apoiado pela sua família e amigos, surge o nome Faixo. 

Em 2015, tomou a decisão de iniciar a sua formação de Dj, pela ProDj, no Porto, juntamente com a sua formação na Produção de Música Eletrónica, pela mesma instituição. Um ano depois manteve algumas presenças em clubes noturnos, situados na zona metropolitana do Porto, onde teve a oportunidade de partilhar cabine com grandes artistas nacionais e internacionais, como Miss Blondie, Mike Morales e Dj Cruzfader, membro da dupla Dinamic Duo, Orelha Negra, Sam the Kid, entre outros.
Este recente Dj/Produtor, pretende um dia partilhar a cabine com Crookers que, desde então, ficou marcado como o seu maior influente no House Music.
Enquanto Produtor, Faixo já criou temas da sua autoria. O seu primeiro single - Feelings - foi dos seus maiores sucessos, tendo atingido a marca das dezassete mil reproduções no Soundcloud e consequentes reconhecimentos em charts da Spinnin Records, entre outras discográficas.
